Chapter 26
A/N: Whoops, made you guys wait a little more than I planned. Oh well, here's part 2 of your date! Also hope you guys had a great Halloween!!
Y/N's POV
"Did you really have to blindfold me?"
"Yes, now stop complaining. We're almost there."
I don't like the fact he has to blindfold me but I am really anxious to see what his surprise for me is. It's hard to think what Bill might have planned for me, he is a tricky guy to figure out. He could be taking me to see a horror movie so he can get a kick out of everybody's screams, maybe he's taking me to the arcade to play some games and beat me on every single one. It's possible that he may be taking me to a part of the woods I haven't seen since I love exploring. Of course, I have no idea if I'm anywhere close with my guesses. I start to feel his breathe on my ear, which tickles, as he begins to whisper, "You're thinking too much, just relax and trust me. You do trust me, don't you?"
"No, I don't trust you; that's exactly why I let you take me on a date and let you blindfold me." I say sarcastically.
He starts laughing, "I'm serious, don't you trust me?"
I think about it which I can imagine Bill either glaring at me or with a frown on his face, "Yeah, I trust you." He hugs me for a while before releasing to continue dragging me.
"It's also funny how you think you let me put the blindfold on you. That piece of cloth was going over your eyes whether you liked it or not."
I start to laugh a bit before we continue the long walk in silence. He finally stops me somewhere where I could feel a gentle breeze cross my face. "You ready?" Bill asks me. I nod my head before he uncovers my eyes; what I see before me has left me in awe. From what I could tell, we were on a hill that shows all of Gravity Falls. I can see the Mystery Shack and Wendy's cabin with so many other places; I never noticed how large the woods was until now. It seems to go on for miles and miles with no end. I look up and I can see the stars, it almost looks like the starry night I had in my dream when Bill had a fever. It was beautiful.
"So...do you like it?" Bill asks me while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Bill Cipher, I love it! This is incredible, I didn't even know this hill existed."
"Well it's more like a cliff," he says while walking over to the edge and signaling me to sit next to him, "I thought this would be the perfect place to bring you."
I sit next to him with my feet dangling off; he puts his arm around my waist as we both look up at the starry night. I imagined so many other things where he would take me tonight...but nothing like this. This is incredible, I don't want this night to end. I'm with Bill who can be dangerous one moment but a lovable dork the next underneath the Galaxy. How I wish I could touch the stardust again like I did in my dream. I look over at Bill and I can't help but smile; I lay my head on his shoulder as he pulls me closer never looking down at me. We stay like this for a long time, just a peaceful night. Well, I thought.
Bill starts to grunt and I back away while he clenches his stomach in pain. "Are you okay?" I ask him which it was obvious to hear fear escape my lips. He looks at me worried still clenching his stomach, "O-Of course, it's just a little pain and pain is...funny?"
It sounded more like a question than a statement, then it hit me, "Bill, are you going to faint like last time with the symbols appearing on your body?"
His eye widens and he seems to be more frightened. He shakes his head fast, "No, it won't. I won't let it happen; I want this to go perfectly and that's exactly what I plan to do." He grabs my hand and pulls me back to him; I'm scared that I'm going to hurt him but he forcefully puts my head back on his shoulder and starts to stroke my hair. I didn't realize till now how tense I am, I relax myself and move myself closer to Bill.
"So, let's get down to business."
I look up at him and give him a confused look, "What do you mean?"
"Well, I convinced myself to answer one of your many irritating questions. Choose wisely, Star, for this may be the only time I decide to do this. All other questions will be answered when I say they can be."
I don't have to think about what question I want answered, I just choose the first one that comes to my mind...
"What all did you do to Stanford Pines? Everything you did to him."
He continues to stroke my hair as he looks down at the town, "Promise me that no matter what my answer is for you...you won't see me differently?" I grab his free hand and squeeze it tight; how could I actually promise something like that? I could learn the true Bill Cipher behind the mask but he would probably use my promise against me and force me into loving him. Okay, maybe I am going a little overboard with the idea but what else do you expect from a demon? Of course though, Bill is different. Maybe what he has done isn't as bad as I think it could be. I do really care about him...
"I promise."
"Very well," Bill sits me up but grabs my right hand with his left; he never made eye contact with me, "it started when I realized my dimension, the Nightmare Realm, was going into corruption thanks to the fact that we have no laws nor rules. I needed to find a new dimension, a new home for all the demons living in the Nightmare Realm. Just so happened that around the time I was looking for a new home, I was summoned by a young male by the name of Stanford Pines.
"I'll give him some credit, he seemed very clever to be a human but not clever enough to realize who exactly he summoned. He was the one who gave me the idea to take over this dumb planet; the perfect home for us freaks and hopefully will last longer than our other home. So, I tricked him into thinking I was some kind of Muse and told him I could help him uncover all the secrets of Gravity Falls; we made the deal and the funniest thing was that he considered me an old friend.
"So, I went back to the Nightmare Realm for a while to figure out how we were all going to get to your dimension. I visited a couple times with Sixer so he knew I didn't forget about him, I was just planning. I finally created the idea of a portal to open a rift from my dimension to yours. I had to make it seem like he was doing all the work though, I just stepped in when I noticed he needed correcting. He had asked his friend Fiddleford McGucket for help on the portal which didn't bother me since Ford never mentioned me to him. What bothered Ford though was that he needed sleep but he also needed to use that time to work on the portal. So, he started to keep himself up at night with drinking about six cups of coffee every night which only let him stay up three extra hours before he would pass out on his work.
"So I decided to help him out by making him a deal; I would control his body while he slept to get his job done and he would get the sleep he needed. My plan was working perfectly, we were ahead of time thanks to me...until the accident. McGucket accidentally went through the portal during one of the test runs which he ended up seeing something that would've given him nightmares for months if he hadn't erased his own mind. He left Fordsy and so it was down to the two of us. I was growing impatient, I needed that portal opened soon or we would all die with our own realm. Time was ticking; I decided to take control of Ford's body more often using my own knowledge which seemed to just hurt Ford more. He was becoming paranoid and his right eye may have started bleeding thanks to me...I'm not going to go into full detail on that.
"Eventually, he figured out my plan and started to destroy his work before the portal could ever be turned on again. I was outrageous; luckily it was turned back on again which led to Ford falling through the portal ending up in my realm. He hid from me though and I sent my friends out to find him but they failed. Idiots, honestly they don't know how to do anything. Before I knew it, the portal was reopened but only for one person to go through, that person was Stanford Pines. He knew about my plans and he knew that once he arrived back that he had to get straight to work into defeating me.
"Weirdmageddon happens and I was able to get Sixer out of the way by turning him into a golden backscratcher; boy was that fun while it lasted. I realized though that we were stuck in Gravity Falls with no escape, we were trapped. Fordsy wouldn't tell me the equation to escape so I decided to use the kids to get what I wanted; he cares about Pinetree and Shooting Star and would give up everything to keep them safe...or so I thought. It seems that he had one last trick to place on me by switching clothes with his brother and made Fez make the deal with me. I was stupid not to see it; they didn't accomplish killing me, however they did manage to make me weak and destroy my beautiful town that I created. Honestly, if I'm able to ever restore my powers...I don't know what I'll do to the Pines. They ruined everything I worked for, I was doing everything I could to save my friends and the rest of the creatures living in it. You have to understand, Y/n, that I'm not really the bad guy; I just wanted everyone from the Nightmare Realm to survive."
I look up at him to see him now staring at me with his golden eye watering. There is always two sides to every story; one side would be the hero trying to stop the villain, the other side would be why the villain did what he had done. Usually it's mostly on revenge but for Bill it was for protection. I hug his waist looking back down at the town; did I see him differently? It certainly made me think differently but I mean this was all in the past and from the looks of it he has tried to change...or maybe he hasn't change and this is the Bill from the past to present day. It is confusing, sure, but I'm sure I can think about it later. I got my answer from my question and I'm still on this date that I actually like; I can't hide it from myself anymore that I might've grown attached to this demon somehow. Don't know when, don't know why, I just am.
He hugs me and I can here him whisper, "Same."
We stay like that, just hugging and looking at the town. It is great, I never want this to end. I think it's the first time in a long time I haven't been worrying about something or being scared out of my mind. Bill made me feel...safe.
"Oh, Star, I have something for you."
I sit up to see him smiling like the biggest dork; he reaches his hand into his pocket and brings it back out with something now in his hand. He grabs my hand and places the gift in my palm; it is a small silver necklace with a silver star charm that reminds of the shape of a diamond. A regular star would have five points but this one had four with curved lines. In the middle was a tiny circle with what looked to be a small white diamond in the middle.
"It was either this or deer teeth, a hard decision really. In the end I decided to give a star to my brightest Star."
I laugh a little as he takes the necklace and wraps it around my neck. I look down at it as I gently touch it, it sure is beautiful. "So, do you like it? You haven't said a word since I gave it to you." Bill asks rubbing his arm in nervousness. My cheeks start to heat up as I realize I haven't said anything, I'm an embarrassment..
"Oh...r-right, sorry. This, honestly, is the most beautiful gift I've ever received. Thank you..." I bite my bottom lip, I feel bad that I don't have anything to give him yet he has planned the entire date out just for me. He grabs my hand and kisses it, "You don't have to give me anything, that smile of yours is enough for me."
I laugh, "What, this ugly thing?"
"Shut up, you know it's beautiful, you just don't want to admit it."
I'm about to say something when we hear a loud crash with flashes of light. I look up to see that the stars have disappeared while drops of water are landing on my face. A thunderstorm. "Well, I definitely did not plan this to happen." Bill mumbles under his breathe. I giggle while standing up and extending my hand out to help Bill up, "You can't plan on the weather being perfect; that's just nature for you, ruining a good moment."
He takes off his jacket and hovers it over my head, "I'll take you home." I nod as we start to walk back to the shack. It starts pouring after about five minutes with me dry and Bill soaking wet. I tried to tell him he could get under the jacket as well but he said he didn't mind, it was just water after all. There was a bright flash again with this time a louder thunder than any of the others before it; my instinct was to grab onto Bill's arm which he just smiled down at me. After another twenty minutes of this, we finally reach the Mystery Shack.
Bill takes his jacket and tries to dry his face off but with no success since the jacket was just as wet. He puts his jacket over his shoulder and grabs my hand. I come closer to him and hug him as I listen to the rain in the background. He is drenched from head to toe with his hair scattered and sticking to his face. It is easy to see the scar on his right eye now but his left still had that golden glow to it. I look up at him to find a smiling Bill just staring down at me.
The rain is like music and the lightning just helped bring light to our dark scene. His face got closer to mine as his hand was placed on my cheek. Scared, nervous, excited, and joyful are the emotions running through my body. His lips are pressed against mine as we both close our eyes. To my surprise, I kiss back. My first kiss...it was with a dream demon. It was sweet, it was as if time stopped and the noises in the background were put to mute. It was just us, Bill and I, no one else around to ruin this for me. I've imagined what my first kiss would be as a child...this was something else though. It's different from imagining it to feeling it. We release for air and we just look at each other, almost dazed and a little confused about what just happened. I start to think, what do I say? I finally figured out what to say and thought how I could say it if it was three letters back. Once I did, I grabbed Bill's hand that was still on my cheek but I didn't move it, I just kept it there.
"L oryh brx."
He looks at me confused a little bit until a wide grin is placed on his face. He brings me into another kiss, not as long as the last one, then says, "This is real, I figured it out. I love you too, my beautiful Star."
We hug each other while watching the rain. I bring my phone out to see that it was 11:00; I did not expect 11:00 to come by so fast. He kisses my hand one last time before opening the door for me. I walk in, but turn around and smile at him; "I'll see you later, Cipher."
"Goodbye, my little Star, and goodnight." I watch as he walks back into the pouring rain with his jacket still on his shoulder; I watch him until he is out of sight. I walk in and pass the living room where Mabel runs up to me and starts asking a million questions; that must be how I am to Bill. I tell her I would answer all of her questions in the morning but for now I was going to head to bed. I see Ford on the yellow chair, Stan must have already gone to bed. I give him a smile which he returns with his own. I walk to my bedroom while shutting the door to change into my (f/b)
t-shirt and a pair of plaid pajama pants. I jump into my bed still wearing the silver star necklace I was given; I grab the jacket Bill had given me when we first met and hugged it. I feel my eyes getting heavy and I shut them while hugging onto the jacket tight and my head on my pillow.
