Chapter 19

Y/N's POV

I open my eyes to find myself in the middle of nowhere. There was only white and some fog that crossed the top of my feet. I was wearing my (f/c) pajama pants and (f/c) t-shirt that I went to bed in. "Where am I?" I ask out loud to no one in particular.

"You're in a dream, kid." Of course, someone had to answer my question. I spin around to see a yellow light flash in my eyes; I closed my eyes from the blinding light and when I opened them I saw Bill Cipher. He was in a yellow tailcoat with brick patterns on the end of it. He had his signature black pants and shoes and his hair was more gentleman-like with his right eye still covered. He had a bow tie right under his neck and a cane in his left hand. He walks towards me and just smiles down at me. "Y-You don't seem sick?" I say but sounded more like a question.

"Nope, in a dream anything can happen! So why not make myself healthy for a little while before having to wake up."

"Oh, ok. So, why am I having a dream?"

"Look, I knew I was going to be weak tonight and I couldn't risk you having a horrible nightmare so I decided to use whatever power I earned today to control your dream!"

"I see, so this is a dream? Seems kind of...boring."

"See, that's the best part!" He says while flying over my head, "You get to create your dream! Anything you want; I don't have enough power to actually make the dream but I did have enough to put you in one."

"So my dream can be anything?"

He looks annoyed now, "Kid, you ask too many questions. Why not you get to creating already, would ya?"

I laugh and turn around to look at the empty void in front of me. What to make, what to make... I haven't had a dream in ten years so what kind of dream would I like to have? I think about the woods, my favorite place in the world. The ground starts to shake underneath me as pine trees start to sprout out of nowhere with grass filling all the empty white space on the ground. I laugh at this and start to think of more stuff to add to my woods. Rocks start to move into a formation on the left side of me as they create a tower. Water starts to sprout out of the top of the tower and flows down creating a waterfall with an endless stream.

Blue lights were the next thing to appear as they start to circle my head. I keep laughing over joy and my child-like mind; I turn to Bill who is just staring at me, smiling. Not his creepy, psychotic grin but a normal, human smile. I look up at the sky that is still white since I haven't thought about what the sky of my dream would look like. The one thing I've always wanted to see as a kid was the galaxy with the different constellations and see what else was out there with the different planets. I blink and in that split second I now see the whole galaxy and it felt that I was so close I could touch it. I want to touch it...that gives me my next idea for what I want in my dream.

When I was little, my parents took me to a park. Not a park with a playground but one with trees and monuments. In the middle of that park was a huge tree; I was about 6 years old, close to 7, so because of my small height I had estimated that tree to be about 500 feet high. Boy I was dumb because later in life I found out that the tallest tree was 300 feet and grew in California. Of course, my child mind thought I could reach the sky from the top of that tree so I tried to climb it. I didn't even go halfway before I got stuck and screamed for my dad to help me down.

Good times.

The ground below my feet shook more than when the woods appeared. A giant pine tree sprouts below my feet and made me fall backwards; luckily Bill caught me before I could make impact with the ground. I look up and see that the tree is actually 500 feet high if not higher. I look back to see Bill smirking. "Wha- AHHHH!" He literally tosses me into the air as if I weigh nothing! I start falling back down, I'm afraid I'm going to hit the ground but I end up landing in Bill's arms bridal style. I wrap my arms around his neck as he starts floating off the ground. He flies us up to the top of the tree and lands me on the highest, sturdiest branch with him sitting right next to me.

I reach my hand up as stardust flies past my hand. I can't help but laugh; this is incredible! I keep playing with the stardust and staring down below me to see the whole woods. Shooting stars start to fill the skies as they all go in different directions. The only word I can think of for this: beautiful.

"Star?"

I turn to face Bill who is just smiling at me. "Do you want to know why I gave you that nickname?" I nod my head slowly and he continues with the answer, "Well, stars are a symbol for beauty, mystery, and magic. They can also be a symbol for creativity and dreamers. You've always reminded me of a dreamer with a clever mind, smarter than anyone else in Gravity Falls."

I blush and I think he notices because he starts to laugh his demonic laugh. Guess he can have his demon voice in the dream but when we wake up he'll sound more human. At first, yes his laugh was annoying but now I don't seem to mind it. "Well, uh, thanks Bill." His laughing soon dies down as he starts to look down and his grin disappears. I notice this and so I playfully punch his arm, "Hey, what s'matter? No one is allowed to be sad in Y/n-opolis. Seriously, what's wrong?"

"The deal..."

"The dea- oh, that deal." He was referring to the deal that if he gave me a dream and/or nightmare I was allowed to tell the Pines his existence. Thing was, I haven't even been thinking about that deal better yet been thinking about telling the Pines that Bill Cipher is alive. This dream has been so much fun! Why should I punish him for giving me an amazing dream?

"Eh, technically you didn't give me this dream, I made it. The deal is still on so if you do give me a nightmare or dream I will tell the Pines but for now, just relax and have fun in my dream!" I jump off the branch as I see Bill's stunned expression. I make a swarm of the blue lights fly below me and as I reach them they catch me and fly me down to the ground.

I start to take a walk in the woods with Bill close behind me floating above the ground. The blue lights continue to follow me and starts to annoy Bill every time one comes near him. We try to make conversation as I try to get some answers out of him; what did he do to trick Ford, why is he human, etc. Each of my questions were answered with a, "That's highly classified information...for now." I was not giving up, I was going to get some kind of real answer out of him from one of my gazillion questions. "Okay, what abou-"

"Star, please, I love your curiosity and enthusiasm but I have answered enough questions from you to last a week."

"Please, just hear this one!!"

He sighs dramatically, "Fiiinnneee!"

I take a deep breathe before beginning, "Okay, so you destroyed the journals, correct?"

"Yes, I did, all three. So?"

"Is there any possible way that maybe the journals could...I don't know...come back from the ashes?"

He cocks an eyebrow at me and stops in his tracks coming in front of me, "Everything I destroyed or created during Weirdmageddon was all reversed back to how it was. The only thing I have not seen come back would be those dumb journals. Trust me, if they came back Sixer would have already found them knowing he's been searching the town every chance he's got." Bill pauses for a second then narrows his eyes, "Why do you care?"

"Well, Dipper talks about them so much and he seems to miss reading them and writing new entries."

"Of course he misses them; that nerd is nothing without that journal."

He turns around and continues to walk away. Thing was, I wasn't going to let him get away with saying that about my bro Dipstick, "We are talking about the same guy who has tricked you countless of times and even helped end Weirdmageddon without the use of the journals, correct?"

Bill stops dead in his tracks and doesn't move. Oh boy. Well, time to keep going with whatever I'm about to say, "The all powerful dream demon was defeated by two pairs of twins and none of them had the journals anymore so how can you say that Dipper is nothing without them?" He stays silent and unresponsive. So I guess I should keep going, "What all did you do during Weirdmageddon? Just to be clear of what Dipper and Mabel had to go through, without the use of the journals, to stop you."

I hear him mumble, "I don't want to talk about it..."

"Why? Oh let me guess, is it 'highly classified' like the rest of my questions before? Why can't I know what you did?"

He turns around and walks back to me with his clothes starting to change colors. He walks back to me until he is basically right on top of me while gritting his teeth. This can't be good.

Narrators's POV

"There is a good reason why I don't want to tell you just ye-"

"Why though?! What kind of reason could you possibly have to not tell me?!" you scream at him annoyed that he hasn't told you anything.

"Do you want to know?! If I told you what I've done, you'll see me differently. Now you see me as a demon but when you learn who I really am you'll see me as the monster the rest of the town sees."

You just stand there silent; you saw how his clothes were crimson red once again with red flames that were on his hands. You could feel the heat and you were dangerously close to the fire. You weren't afraid though, you've seen this side of Bill a lot and you weren't exactly afraid of him anymore so you stood your ground. "You really think I would see you as some type of monster?"

"Of course you would! Every flesh bag on this planet who has met me thinks so and you'll just be like everyone else when you learn my whole story."

"I don't see how such little information can make me see you as a monster."

"Believe me, it would." Bill's flames disperse as his clothes turn golden and he just stares down at you with a soft eye, "You'll be just like everyone else no matter how much I hate to say it. You won't trust me, you'll fear me more than you do now."

Bill grabs your hand while your foreheads collide, his resting on top of yours. "As much as I don't want to say it, I don't want to lose you.."

You smirk up at him and laugh a little, "Okay, first off I really never thought of you as the caring kind of guy." He rolls his eye at you and tightens his grip on your hand, "Second, if you haven't already figured it out, I'm not like everyone else in this town. Maybe you aren't at full power yet and maybe you're not acting like your normal self but I've seen enough to know that yes, you are a horrible person but not as horrible to be a monster. Demon, yes. Monster, not possible."

He laughs but he knew that you wouldn't be answering the same way when you knew what he did to your cousins and the Pines. He's read your mind plenty enough times to know that's all you've been thinking about and he can't risk to lose your trust yet.

A bright light flashes as you both look up to see the galaxy that was once above you start to disappear. "What's happening?" Bill sighs and looks back down at you, "You're waking up."

"Waking up? I don't want to leave yet though!"

"Sorry, Star, but it seems as though Shooting Star is trying to wake the both of us up. Time to start off another sick day for me.."

You hug Bill tightly which shocks him by your action. "You'll be fine, I'll help you out until you get better."

"Yeah, okay. Whatever."

The woods start to disappear and turn into dust. The blue lights go out one by one into nonexistence. The endless stream comes to an end. All the things you created were gone as if it was never there. Your dream was just that, a dream; a figment of your imagination that never really occurred. A yellow light shines behind Bill, "Well, looks like my ride is here back to my own mind." He turns back to face you, lifts your hand and kisses it, "I'll see you soon, Star~" Bill walks through the portal as him being the last thing you see.

•••

"Y/N!" Mabel screams as you jolt up awake. The dream was over, back to reality you go.

A/N: SORRY!! I feel bad for not updating yesterday but school got in the way. Stupid school, messing up everything! Anywho, hope you liked your dream with Bill!!
