Back To School

The day passed and they finally went back to their respective schools. Aomine didn’t mention Takuya for some reason and just acted casual smiling at the confused Tsukiko and Tetsuya who just shrugged.

A week had already passed since they returned andTsukiko was currently walking to school with her cousin, with their usual routine back. Yawning, they reached their classroom and then again, were greeted by their lessons and were bombard with tons of home works because of the months they were absent.

“How on earth are we going to get this finished?!” Tsukiko complained staring at the stack of papers she had in her arms as she walked towards the gym with Kagami, and her two cousins.

“Oh, you four, you’re here already…”Hyuuga said as he glanced at the four who just entered the gym doors.

“Hyuuga-senpai, help me with my home works!” Tsukiko pleaded, crying.

“Are you serious?” Hyuuga raised his eyebrows and pointed at the stack of home works. “I have to do mine myself!”

“EH?!” they reacted.

“I guess all of us had to do this on our own” Kiyoshi concluded putting his hands on his hips. They heard the whistle blow assuming that it was their coach, Aida. “Alright minna! For the rest of the week, there will be no training!” she announced.

“Huwaaaa, why?!”

“C-coach…” Hyuuga trailed off staring at her.

“Don’t you understand, Hyuuga-kun? It would be useless if we don’t finish our home works on time! The whole club would be suspended and wouldn’t be allowed to play on matches next year! Even if it’s a practice game!” Aida explained, seriously. “Uh” Hyuuga stared at her and gulped. “I understand” he nodded. “HEY ALL OF YOU!” everyone’s head turned to the clutch captain.

He turned into his clutch mode on and gave everyone a cold glare. “I want you all to finish all of these by the end of the week” a dark purple aura surrounded his face as all of the players shivered in fear. “YES CAPTAIN!” they chorused.

Due to no training, Tsukiko and the two Kuroko’s had gone home with their home works. Tetsuya had invited Kagami over too, so they could do their home works together. Arriving at their house, Tsukiko and Kagami slumped on the cushion at the living room, dropping all of their papers on the table.

“I’ll go make tea for everyone” Emiko offered and disappeared of to the kitchen.

“Gah! I give up!” Tsukiko declared and rested her head on the table. “You haven’t even started yet, Tsukiko” Tetsuya told her, as she raised her head and gave an annoyed glare.

“Gah! I hate this!” she groaned in frustration ruffling her own hair. She noticed how Kagami was quiet because by now, he should be complaining and whining with her. He was the type that wouldn’t shut his mouth whenever he has to do something that involves academic reasons. He hates doing school work.

Tsukiko was surprised to see Kagami staring seriously at the papers and tried to answer some math questions. The brunette’s eyes widened at the sight and tugged Tetsuya’s shirt who’s already starting on his homework. “T-Tetsuya…” Tetsuya frowned after Tsukiko had bothered him in answering.

“What do you want? I won’t be helping you in home works okay? I’ve got a lot in my hands” he protested.

“It’s not that” Tsukiko had her voice low and pointed at Kagami secretly. “Look at him” she said as Tetsuya looked at Kagami curiously. He blinked his eyes for a few seconds until he realizes that Kagami was actually trying to answer his homework. “Kagami-kun…” Kagami noticed that the two were staring at him and twitched his eye.

“What are you two looking at?” he sneered, as the both of them flinched.

“E-Eh, Kagami-kun, you’re actually doing something academic” Tsukiko said and followed with an awkward laugh. Kagami flinched and glared at her. “Don’t you understand what’s going to happen if we don’t finish this on time?” he started. Tsukiko blinked clueless as Kagami sighed. “I’ve seen the schedule! If we don’t finish these on time then we won’t be able to attend our practice match against Touou next week!”

“Eh? But we, wait, we’re still competing?” Tsukiko asked.

“Of course we do. It’s just a practice game! Not the Internationals!” Kagami retorted and rolled his eyes and continued to answer his works. Tsukiko sighed and stared at her work. “Don’t worry Tsukiko-san, I’m sure you’ll be able to finish all of this on time” Emiko appeared beside Tsukiko who jumped.

“S-Since when—I thought you got us tea?!”

“I did” Emiko gave Tsukiko a cup of tea.

“Leave it there…” Tsukiko said and Emiko placed the cup back on the table. “Yosh!” Tsukiko lightly slapped of her cheeks wakening herself up. “Let’s answer all of this crap!” she fist pumped.

TIME SKIP.

Meanwhile in Momoi’s house…

“Gah I give up already!” Aomine collapsed on the table from all of the work they were given.

“Eh? C’mon Dai-chan! If you don’t finish this, then you won’t be able to compete on our practice match next week!” Momoi told him.

“I’ve played too many games already! I’m drained” Aomine whined.

Momoi pouted and remembered something making her smile mischievously. “You don’t want to play in the game??” she started catching all of her teammates’ attention who had joined her and Aomine in answering their works. “Fine, I guess Tsuneko could find a new guy to compete with” she peeked at Aomine who had his head raised and had a serious face on.

“Let’s do this” he now looked determined.

“That was so quick!” their teammates reacted, their jaws dropping.

Back to Kuroko residence…

“Tetsuya…” Tsukiko was now crying and was reaching a weak hand towards her cousin. “I can’t do this anymore” she looked like she was a ghost that’s haunting them. “Tsukiko-san, please pull yourself together” Emiko requested, her expression as emotionless as her brother’s. “You’ll never finish your work if you continue acting like that”

“As if I’ll ever finish this! I hate school!” Tsukiko whimpered, hopeless, while hugging her knees on her chest. “Don’t be so dramatic” Kagami spoke. “Just take a rest if you’re mental blocked and continue to answer. Relax; it’s going to be fine”

“Is that supposed to help me?” she quizzed and sighed. “Well you do have a point” she stood up and went for the door.

“Where are you going?” Tetsuya asked her as she put on her outdoor shoes. “I’ll go buy cool drinks for everyone to refreshen us up, I’ll be back” she answered and exited the house, closing the door behind her. The moment she walked out, Tetsuya’s phone rang. He looked down at it that was on his lap and answered the anonymous phone call since only the number was displayed on the phone’s screen.

“Hello?” he answered and heard a familiar voice. “Oh! Tetsu~” the voice said making Tetsuya flinch. “Oh, it’s been a while…” Tetsuya’s reply was cold, catching the two’s attention. “Why did you call?”

“Huh? By your tone of voice it seems that you don’t want me checking on you guys~ how’s Emiko?”

“She’s fine, but don’t you have someone more important to check up on?”

“Oh~ I know that! sh! Don’t tell me I can do this!”

‘He’s childish as ever…’ Tetsuya looked annoyed.

“Oh! How’s my step-sister?”

“Aomine-kun you’re sleeping again!” Momoi yelled at the tanned guy.

“What? I’ve been doing this for hours!” he retort with a nerve pop. He sighed and stood up. “Where do you think you’re going?” Momoi scolded like a mother to him. “Relax, I’m just going out to get a drink” he waved his hand and exited her house.

Tsukiko was walking towards the convenience store and entered looking for her favorite drink through the racks. She frowned when she saw it up the rack as she reached for it and almost fell but good thing someone caught her. “A-Aomine!” she was surprised to see him here. “What are you doing here?”

Aomine set her down and frowned. “Don’t you want me here?”

“E-Eh! I-It’s not that! it’s just I didn’t expect to see you here! That’s all” she trailed off with a smile. He blushed and looked at her eyeing her. “Why do you have eye bags? Are you doing an all-nighter?” he inquired folding his arms. “And why are you out here at this late hour?”

“Eh?” Tsukiko looked out the window and didn’t realize it was dark already. “I-I didn’t notice…” she said.

“Anyway, is your house near here? I’ll walk you” Aomine offered.

“I’m actually staying at the Kuroko’s” Tsukiko replied and bought her drinks and Aomine followed. “We’re doing our stacked up works for school”

“I see, so you guys are doing that too” Aomine muttered and began walking Tsukiko back to their house. “We’re going to have a match against you guys, so we’ve been working our butts off”

“I guess both teams want to go head to head at each other again” Tsukiko smiled making him blush again. He suddenly remembered how he had missed her since the Training Camp ended. He had the urge to hug her but didn’t and decided to strike a conversation that surprised her.

“So… when are you free?” he gushed.

“W-What…?” she looked at him curiously.

“I told you I’ll ask you out didn’t I?” Aomine reminded her. “So when?” Tsukiko rubbed her chin and thought. “Hm, with the home works we got I assume both of us can’t make it within this week so…” She perked up. “Let’s go out after that practice match! Sounds good?”

Aomine grinned. “Sure” they reached the house and they said their goodbyes. Tsukiko gave Aomine kiss on the cheek before entering the house leaving him stunned and blushing. He was smiling the whole time while going back and was accused of crazy by Momoi.

Tsukiko returned at the table and handed everyone their drinks and received thank yous. “Huh? Why does Tetsuya look serious?” she whispered over to Kagami who just shrugged. “He’s been like that since someone called him, we didn’t bother to ask because he looks too troubled” Tsukiko worriedly at his cousin.

“Tetsuya?”
