THE RESCUE ATTEMPT
Laura wakes up the next morning and she is beyond dumbfounded when she opens her eyes to see Mathéo peacefully sleeping beside her, their bodies so close that she can feel his warm breaths against her skin. She vaguely remembers inviting the Hispanic boy into her room in the middle of the night and asking him to sleep on the bed with her, but she pretty much assumed the encounter was all a dream. The brunette then wonders if she did something salacious with him last night and just forgot. Laura, her mind now filled with worry, rushes out of the bed to make sure all her clothes are still on and all these movements cause Mathéo to also wake up from his deep peaceful slumber.
"What happened, Laura?" the boy asks her with a yawn as he tries to scratch away the sleep from his eyes.
"Did we have..." Laura freezes, too afraid to complete her sentence. She doesn't know how she would react if her fear is confirmed true.
"Of course we didn't. You said you weren't ready to and I would never force myself on you," Mathéo reassures his now girlfriend, immediately understanding the question troubling her so much without her finishing. "I'm so sorry, I should have known it was a terrible idea to meet up with you when you were so sleepy. I didn't mean to make things weird between us again."
"No, not at all. I'm the one that willingly asked you to come in and I did mean everything I said to you last night. I wasn't high on sleep or under the influence of some drug. It was my choice, you didn't do anything wrong. I just needed to be sure I was remembering last night correctly." Laura comes closer to join Mathéo on the bed when she suddenly remembers it's a Monday morning, which means Nathaniel is getting ready for work (their school is on break at the moment, so the teens don't have to worry about getting up early). "You need to leave. My brother will be out any minute from now."
The teen boy instantly recalls how hot tempered Laura's elder brother is when it comes to his sister, and there's no telling what the guy would do to him if he finds out his house guest disobeyed him and slept in the same room and bed as his sister. He would explode. Not wanting to test his luck, Mathéo thanks Laura with a little kiss on her cheek before hurrying back to the guest room, leaving the girl flustered by his sudden action.

Mathéo and Laura arrive together at the Bloomaert residence sometime after midday because of the text they received from Sara a few hours ago. She claims to have machinated a plan for rescuing Aaron and she desperately needs the both of them in order to perfect it. When they get there, they are welcomed by one of the numerous maids that work in the home, a white middle-aged woman with short brown hair, who takes them to the main living room where Sara is sitting and waiting.
"Thank you, Ms Sophie. Do you mind giving us some privacy?" Sara politely asks the lady who nods in response and leaves, shutting the door behind her to ensure they're not eavesdropped on. The girl then turns her gaze to Mathéo before sincerely saying, "I'm sorry about what happened to your family. Laura told me they were kidnapped."
"Thank you" is all Mathéo reluctantly tells her in reply as he sits down with Laura on the couch that's opposite the one of Sara. It's obvious from the clearly forced pleasantness in his voice that he still hasn't totally forgiven the girl.
"So, Sara, you said you've come up with an idea of how we can find where the Zomer is holding Aaron hostage. Do you mind explaining it to us?" Laura cuts in with this question, attempting to shift her boyfriend's hostility from their classmate to the matter at hand.
The dark skinned girl is about to answer when her phone starts ringing all of a sudden. She takes a moment to look at the screen to see the name of the caller, and once she does, she immediately puts it on silent and returns it to her pocket.
"Who's calling you?" the brown skin teen questions her, feeling very suspicious of her reaction just now. He's never seen her look so worried because of a simple call. She's usually the type that would ignore it without visibly expressing any emotion other than annoyance and/or disgust. "Is it someone we should know about?"
"It's Rob. He's been calling me all day 'cause Aaron didn't come home last night and we all know he isn't exactly 'reachable' at the moment. Plus, I obviously can't tell him his son has been taken by some deranged cult that seems to be obsessed with him, so I've just been avoiding him," Sara confesses without any more probing from Mathéo. "Now that you know, can I finally get on with my explanation?"
"Yes, of course," Laura quickly replies before Mathéo has the opportunity to clap back at Sara for the rude tone she employed while asking him the question. "We're both listening."
"I got thinking last night and it occurred to me that Aaron was still with his phone when that crazy blonde girl teleported away with him and that sicko buddy of hers, and I know for a fact he always keeps his location settings on because it helps him find it anytime he loses it," Sara starts. "So this morning, I decided to use 'Find A Friend' to try to track his phone and it was able to generate a possible location."
"Where is it?" Laura's curiosity is heightened even more after hearing this revelation. This may just be the good news they've been waiting for.
"Somewhere in Antwerp. It didn't show the exact name of the location, but it did give directions for how to get there."
"I still don't see how this involves me. Aaron got himself in this mess when he chose to nail me to the ceiling like a light bulb and go team up with the psycho stalker and his deranged entourage, so he can get himself out. You can go save him if you want, but I'm not really interested in risking my life for someone who believes not having powers makes me a cold-blooded killer," Mathéo informs Sara with the same uncouth tone he uses whenever he wants to piss her off, but she forces herself to maintain composure.
"If the Zomer were the ones that captured your family, which is most likely the case, it only makes sense that they would keep them in the same place as Aaron. Don't you think so?" Sara points out to Mathéo, immediately causing him to feel stupid for not already considering it. "It'll be in all our best interests to go there and check it out. I'll even drive if you're so worried about transportation. It'll take us two hours at most to reach there that way."
Mathéo takes a moment to contemplate on Sara's offer. He knows she's probably right, but his pettiness and disdain towards her prevents him from admitting it out loud. Eventually, the teen boy gives up on his pride and agrees to follow her plan.
"I'll go with you guys, okay? But I'll need to stop over at my house to pick up something."
"What do you want to collect from there?" Laura asks him, a bit worried by the urgency in the last statement. She's afraid it may be something dangerous that'll come back to haunt them when he falls back to his occasional rash decision making.
"It's probably best if I don't tell you, but you don't have to worry about it," he promises her with his usual bright reassuring smile, but even that isn't enough to calm down her immense feeling of anxiety.
As the three teenagers get into one of the cars belonging to the Bloomaert family and Sara starts driving, she doesn't bother to pry into what Mathéo said before stopping over at his house for him to get what he's looking for. The two girls allow him to go in on his own since he insists that it's something personal and he quickly hurries on inside. The place is still in the same haphazard state as when he last came here with Laura yesterday, and seeing it again causes all his feelings of rage and self blame to rush back in. It's not like he was expecting everything to have magically gone back to the way it was before the whole Zomer problem, but it still hurts the boy to be reminded of what happened to the people that have been so compassionate and loving towards him.
Mathéo suppresses the intense emotions he's feeling right now and proceeds to his father's office. It appears the kidnappers never entered the room considering it's as organized as ever. The boy pulls open the drawer beneath the wooden desk and brings out exactly what he came for, a fully loaded gun. His dad is a serving police chief and the teen knows he always hides his work guns in his office in case of emergencies. Mr Badi would definitely not approve of his foster son stealing his firearms, but desperate times call for equally desperate measures. Mathéo immediately stuffs the weapon into the back pocket of his trousers and uses his shirt to cover the protruding end showing before returning to the car.
"Were you able to find what you were searching for?" Sara asks the boy a bit impatiently as he enters into the back seat.
"Yeah, I got it. We can get going now."
"You know you can tell me if there's anything wrong, right?" Laura's concern is easily detectable from her tone as she turns her head to face Mathéo from the front seat.
"Yeah, I know. Everything's fine," he tries to assure her, but she can tell he's lying.
The drive to Antwerp to rescue Aaron ends up proving to be a lot longer and more tumultuous than our characters were expecting. For some strange reason, the location of the boy's phone keeps on changing over and over again as the journey progresses, forcing them to practically drive around in circles for a long time until the destination finally steadies. At last, after almost four hours on the road and evening now almost here, the app leads them to yet another forest. Sara parks the car not too far from the final destination and the three of them continue the rest of the path on foot.
"Are you sure it's a good idea walking through here?" Laura's worried it may be risky to go into the woods like this after everything they've gone through these past few months.
"It's better this way. We can easily maintain our stealth and the car would attract unwanted attention if they have anyone keeping watch," Sara explains to the brunette as they follow the directions on her phone. "Just relax. Mathéo and I are here, so you don't have to stress about the possible danger."
When the three adolescents eventually reach the end of the trail, they find themselves standing in front of a door leading into a gigantic building of unbelievable width. From the windows that are situated high on the edifice's walls, they can see the light bulbs inside are currently switched on, which means it's not deserted. Those cultists are clearly performing some shady operations in this place for them to have constructed it so close in the middle of nowhere. Mathéo takes the initiative and moves forward to turn the door handle, but it doesn't budge.
"It's locked," the Latino informs the other two as he shifts away from the door after repeatedly trying to force it open. "What do you think we should do now?"
"Calm down, I have an idea," Sara says as she steps forward and grabs a hold of the door. She swiftly activates her ability and freezes the entire lock mechanism, rendering it weak and brittle. The dark skinned girl then applies some strength to push against the door and the lock instantly snaps, causing it to just slide ajar. "That did the trick. Let's go in."
Laura and Mathéo don't waste a single second before they join Sara to proceed into the structure. The interior turns out to be way more attractive than the outside. The cement the walls are made of don't seem to have any cracks on it and the white paint covering everywhere looks fairly fresh, as if they were applied not too long ago. Is it possible that this facility was just built?
"Is the app showing any further directions on how to get to Aaron?" Laura asks Sara worriedly as the three of them walk through the seemingly endless passage. She can't help but think that the Zomer might have set some hidden traps for intruders and they're all just walking straight to it.
"Unfortunately, no. It ended once we reached the front door, so we'll just have to rely on our instincts to lead us the rest of the way."
That certainly isn't the sort of response the brunette was hoping for considering their current predicament and it only helps to increase her uneasiness even more.
Meanwhile, inside the hall where all the Zomer members have gathered in anticipation of the revival of their deity, one of them—a platinum blonde man in his thirties whose zegen ability allows him to sense all living creatures within a radius of approximately one kilometer—detects the three teens' arrival at their hideout and quickly notifies his leader (the stalker). The chief is seriously pissed off when he receives this piece of information and immediately comes up with a course of action. He meets Louane and M and orders the both of them to go deal with the unwanted guests before they can pose any nuisance to their precious ceremony, and the two young cultists aren't exactly happy to be given such commands at a time like this.
"You can't actually expect us to leave right now. Feto's reawakening is groundbreaking and historic; we can't afford to miss it," M protests with his annoyance very visible from his facial expression.
"For once, I'm actually agreeing with M. We can't just leave to go chase after those unenlightened brats," Louane concurs with her colleague. "We've been working a lot recently. Why don't you just ask any of the rookies, or literally anyone other than us?"
"This isn't a request I'm making, it's an order. Unless you would rather disobey the cause and be excluded from the great Feto's loyal followers," the stalker threatens the two of them and they grudgingly do as he says. After all, serving Feto has become the primary goal of the modern Zomer cult and the last thing any of the members would want would be to miss out on that.

Sara, Laura and Mathéo are in the process of their aimless search for Aaron and the Latino's foster family when they suddenly encounter an unwanted blonde obstacle. Louane supernaturally appears in front of them out of nowhere and she looks furious. The three immediately halt their movements and glare at one another in a 'what do we do?' kind of way.
"You guys should go on without me. I'll try to keep her busy," Mathéo offers to serve as a distraction.
"You can't possibly think we'd leave you alone with that crazy girl. She's clearly going to kill you," Sara completely disagrees with that idea.
"Think about it. If she's here, that'd mean the rest of the cult also knows we've found their hideout. We don't know what they're doing to my family and Aaron, but the arrival of intruders will only make them move even faster," the boy explains to her. "We'd waste less time this way. Just trust me for once."
Sara can't argue with Mathéo's logic. Fighting Louane will take too long and the people they came here to save could be dead before they're done with her. She drags Laura's hand as a way of telling the brunette to follow her as they turn at the corner they previously ignored in order to find another route to their targets.
"Promise me you're not going to die," Laura says to her crush with a bit of shakiness in her voice before she leaves him.
"I promise," Mathéo responds as he turns his head slightly to show her his charismatic smile that she loves so much.
"How chivalrous of you to sacrifice yourself just so those two can escape. The scene almost made me cry," Louane mocks the teen boy after the girls are gone. "I decided not to interrupt your scheming 'cause regardless of what you three plan to do, the final outcome will still remain the same. None of you is exiting this building alive."
"Do you mind skipping the whole villainous monologue and just getting on with it? I'm really not interested in listening."
The blonde cultist appears to be infuriated by this statement as she immediately vanishes after hearing it. Mathéo turns from left to right, perplexed by the lady's sudden action. He wonders if she changed her mind and went after Laura and Sara, which would be a big problem if that's the case. To the boy's surprise, Louane reappears behind him without warning and grabs him in a firm choke hold.
"I bet you're not so smug now," the girl whispers maliciously into Mathéo's ears as she tightens her grip around his neck even more.
Unfortunately for Louane, physically speaking, she isn't close to as strong as Mathéo, and thus he manages to push her away from him with pure force. He turns around and is about to pull out his gun from his pocket when the blonde quickly transforms both her hands into eels and wraps them around his wrists, restraining the movement of his arms. Like an actual eel, she shocks him with a high voltage of electricity, but she's completely bewildered when the boy doesn't even flinch.
"Do you think that little sting is anything to me?" Mathéo asks her angrily as he grabs hold of Louane's supernaturally modified limbs. She has no idea that he went through far worse torture in the hands of his biological parents and a shock of electricity as weak as that feels like nothing more than a mosquito bite to him.
The Hispanic boy flips the tables as he drags the cultist's eel-arms, pulling her towards him. When she comes close enough, he knees her in the gut so hard she coughs out blood.
* * * *
"So, are you and Mathéo sleeping with each other now?" Sara curiously asks Laura all of a sudden as the two girls wander through the hideout, immediately causing the brunette's cheeks to redden in embarrassment. "I mean, it'd make sense since you two are staying in the same house and you're terrible at hiding how enamored you are with him."
"No, not at all. It wasn't like that," Laura instantly blurts out in response with her discomfort clearly noticeable in her tone. She knows that's not what happened, at least not in the way Sara is implying, but she can't resist feeling bashful when asked such a question. "Why did that suddenly come to your mind?"
"I don't know. There's just been a different vibe between you two all day, a bit like a couple. The whole tense atmosphere was getting kind of frustrating, so I decided it won't hurt to ask."
"Well, you weren't totally wrong. Mathéo and I j-"
Laura's talking is cut short when a mysterious hand suddenly extends from the wall beside her in an attempt to grab her neck, but luckily for her, Sara swiftly shoots out an ice blade that severs the wrist, giving the brunette enough time to distance herself from the assailant. Then, like a ghost, the rest of the body comes out from the wall and the person is revealed to be none other than the infamous M. He gives the dark-skinned girl a malignant smile as his amputated limb instantaneously grows back. His regeneration speed is a lot quicker than Laura's healing ability.
M raises his right hand up and Laura immediately starts suffocating. She holds on to her neck as she finds it impossible to breathe, and Sara quickly comes to her rescue. The black beauty snaps her fingers once and an ice cocoon instantly forms around their attacker, temporarily trapping him inside.
"Laura, I need you to run away from here as fast as possible. This guy is some serious bad news and it's best you leave right now," Sara instructs her.
The brunette doesn't dispute the counsel 'cause she knows she'll be nothing more than a burden in this current scenario. She has absolutely zero combat skills and her power is the furthest thing from useful in a fight; she'd only hold Sara back. Laura turns around and flees when M suddenly releases a strong burst of air, shattering his icy prison to pieces.
"Where do you think you're going?" He faces the brunette as she runs away. He's about to launch another airy attack, but his concentration is broken when the blade of an ice rapier penetrates his torso, allowing the girl enough time to escape his sight.
"It's just you and me now, M," Sara tells him with a grave tone as she pulls out her sword from his upper body and jumps back to widen the distance between them. One of the things she's learned from practising fencing for so long is that it's easier to react to your opponent's attacks if you have enough space to observe their movements.
"So, you're obsessed with me now," M jokes as he turns around to reveal his already healed wound. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to make things quick. I have something really important to get to.

The battle between Louane and Mathéo rages on even more fiercely as the former turns the tables in her favor. The blonde turns her leg to that of a horse and kicks the boy into the wall. She then rushes towards him, uses her left hand to hold his neck against the wall and stabs her fingernails of her right hand (which have now become claws) into the side of his torso, causing him to cry out in pain as blood flows out of the injuries.
"How do you feel about this? Don't tell me all that confidence and bravado from before is suddenly gone now," Louane says to him with a sadistic smile on her face. She's glaringly enjoying torturing him. "I guess since my master told me to kill you this time I can finally get revenge for what you did to Mathilde."
"I still don't know who the fuck you're talking about and I honestly don't care!" Mathéo snaps at the blonde vexedly as he knees her in between the legs, making her to loosen her grip on him in response to the pain from the attack. Without wasting even a single second, he gives her a frontal kick that pushes her a few steps backwards, broadening the gap between them.
"You son of a bitch!" the blonde exclaims as she starts towards him to retaliate, but before she can come any closer, the Latino whips out his hand gun and shoots her twice in the shoulder without any hesitation. "Fuck!" Louane cusses loudly before suddenly teleporting out of there.
'Where did she go?' Mathéo wonders as he turns back and forth looking for her. The element of surprise is yet another unfair advantage the zegen cultist has against the normal. All of a sudden, Louane emerges behind the boy and plunges all ten of her claws into his back. Despite the severe agony, he pulls himself away and turns to face his opponent, ready to shoot again. Sad to say, she hits the gun out of his hand before he gets the chance to pull the trigger.
Not letting Mathéo the time to think of a counter offensive, Louane jumps on him, sending them both to the ground, and stabs her enhanced fingernails into his shoulders. The bloodlust in her eyes looks more ravenous than ever. The teen boy tries stretching his arm to regain possession of his weapon, but it's too far away and the girl on top of him is hindering him from moving.
"You're going to pay for shooting me, you piece of shit!" Louane threatens her prey as the blood from her gunshot wounds drips unto his body beneath her.
The psychopath girl pulls out her right hand from Mathéo's shoulder, his blood gushing out profusely, and readies to dig her claws into his skull when he finally musters enough strength and pushes her off of him. Then, he immediately dives and grabs firm hold of his pistol.
"Don't even think for a moment that a shove will be enough to get rid of me," Louane tells the Hispanic teen as she plants her nails into his ankle and pulls him closer to herself.
Without thinking, Mathéo rolls to his front, points the hand gun at his attacker and pulls the trigger, sending a bullet through her forehead. Time feels frozen for an eternity as the bang sound from the gunshot resonates in his brain, and then Louane falls dead to the ground. The teen boy doesn't rejoice in his victory. Instead, he just stares at his blood soaked body as well as the one of the person whose life he just took.
'I just killed someone.' The reality of the situation slowly registers in his mind and the sight of his hands now appalls him. He never wanted to murder her. He just wanted to incapacitate her so she couldn't hunt them down anymore, but in that moment, shooting her head felt like the sole option he had. What sort of person does that?
Mathéo completely ignores his several bleeding injuries as he sits there reflecting on the inhumane act he just committed, drops of tears gradually trickling down his cheeks despite his blank facial expression. Memories of his childhood trauma suddenly begin to flood his thoughts, reminding him of all the horrible things he was forced to endure back then and how unfortunate of a child he is.
"Why is my life like this? Why do I still live it?" the teen asks himself aloud as he points the mouth of the firearm to the side of his head with trembling hands. "I should just end it once and for all."
* * * *
Laura sobs heavily as she aimlessly runs through the seemingly endless hallways of the Zomer hideout. She just abandoned yet another friend to fight for their life while she escapes like a scared little child. She can't help but feel so useless for not being able to help either of them. Remembering the reason why the three of them came here in the first place, the brunette stops her movement for a minute to catch her breath and gather her thoughts.
"You need to calm down and think," Laura tells herself as she tries to relax her raging inquietude before continuing her search for Aaron and her lover's family. She understands that the only way she can make sure this whole mission doesn't end up being for nothing is by finding them.
Without a clue of where to start from, the teen girl just hurriedly wanders round the colossal building, opening every door she passes in order to see what's hidden behind them. For some time, her effort proves to be futile, but that changes when she randomly comes across a slightly different door. Unlike all the previous ones which were all wooden, this one is totally made of metal. Laura knows that the disparity might not mean anything significant, but she chooses to take it as a sign and walks through it, and what her eyes behold when she gets to the other side utterly baffles her.
The room appears to be a tech lab or something like that, with keyboards and super computers installed at the opposite end of the room and a massive screen attached to the wall behind it, but that's not what catches Laura's attention. What does are the equipment standing at the side of the laboratory. Four iron human-sized capsules with each containing one unconscious person—Mr and Mrs Badi, Lyam and Kate.
"Wake up guys, we need to get out of here," the brunette girl calls out to them as she knocks on the glass of the containers, but they don't respond. She can tell from the rhythmic rises and falls of their chests that they're still alive, but something about the receptacles seem to be keeping them asleep. Maybe it's releasing some kind of sedative gas.
'Aaron isn't here,' Laura suddenly realizes. She turns around and starts ransacking the place for hints of the boy's whereabouts, but her action is soon abruptly interrupted when she hears two successive loud bang sounds.
"Were those gunshots just now?" the teen asks herself as she dashes back out to the hallway. She turns her head left and right but can't identify which precise direction the noise originated from.
Bang! Laura hears again and immediately follows it to the left. She runs as fast as she can without even considering the potential dangers that could be awaiting her. All she thinks is that one of her friends is probably in need of help and she has to get to them at all costs. At last, when she reaches the source of the sound, she's petrified to see Mathéo bloody and ready to put a bullet in his own skull. The teen girl instantly understands what transpired here once she views Louane's dead body which has a bullet hole through its skull.
"Mathéo!" Laura calls her boyfriend's name and he turns his head to face her, slowly lowering the pistol. She notices the shakiness of his hands as he struggles to maintain a firm grip on the gun; he must really be traumatized.
"Why did you come back here?" Mathéo asks her with a tint of hostility perceivable in his tone.
"I heard gunshots, so I was worried you were in danger," Laura answers as she comes closer and kneels beside him on the ground, and that's when she descries just how badly hurt he is. The brunette immediately begins to heal the normal before his blood loss can get any more severe. "Are you alright?"
"I'm a murderer, a heartless one at that. I don't deserve your healing. I'm a psycho just like the Molfeses. Like parents like son, right?" Mathéo starts spiraling, not paying attention to Laura's show of concern.
"Don't blame yourself, this isn't your fault. She's the one that instigated the attack and you were just trying to protect yourself."
"Nathaniel was right to be wary of me. Someone as deranged as me shouldn't be allowed close to you, I shouldn't even be alive. You should stay away from me before I go full on Jeffrey Dahmer or ev–" the Latino is abruptly cut off when Laura unexpectedly kisses him softly on the lips, pulling him out of his depressed trance as he gets a taste of the lips he loves so much. "I... uh... wasn't expecting that," he stammers with slightly reddened cheeks.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't know how else to get you to focus on me," Laura apologizes as she resumes healing the boy's wounds. "You're not some cruel killer and you're definitely nothing like your biological parents. Even my brother wouldn't think of you like that. The remorse you're feeling is enough proof you have a good heart and whenever you feel like giving up, just remember the people in your life that care about you. Remember me, and Lyam, and the parents that actually love you because we know the real you and you mean the world to us."
Laura has just done it again, proving how good she is at brightening the boy's reality even it feels so bleak. The strong emotions Mathéo feels towards this girl, he doesn't believe he has ever felt like this about anyone before and it feels good to have those sentiments reciprocated. Wrapping his arms around her, he gives her a tight warm hug and whispers into her ear, "thank you for that."
"Thank you too," the zegen girl responds as she returns the loving embrace, not minding all the blood on his body and allowing it to stain her beautiful blue top. Even bodily fluids aren't enough to prevent the two teens from expressing their profound affection for each other, nothing is.
After the two pull away, it takes Laura about seven more minutes to fully heal all of Mathéo's wounds and they get up to continue their objective. As they walk together, the brunette tells the Latino about M's surprise attack and how he's fighting with Sara right now. She also informs him of the room where his family has been imprisoned, and once he hears about it, he insists that they rush over there immediately.
As Mathéo and Laura get closer to the lab's door, they notice an unknown figure approaching them from the opposite end of the hallway, and he seems to exude a malevolent aura. They both halt and examine the suspicious individual, but his face looks familiar.
"Aaron?" the brunette mutters as she starts towards him, but her significant other quickly pulls her back.
"That isn't Aaron. It might look like him, but something is certainly off about this guy," Mathéo warns her with a grave tone.
"What do you mean by that? How do you know he isn't Aaron?"
"I've known him for half my life and something about the guy in front of us doesn't sit right with me. His eyes aren't even the same color as Aaron's"
"You should really listen to your boyfriend, Laura. He isn't exactly wrong," the Aaron lookalike cuts himself into the conversation with a mischievously happy expression on his face. "You can call me Feto. Your friend, Aaron, and I are coinhabiting this body now and he willingly gave me the driving wheel while he recovers from everything you guys did to him. As such, I have every intention of taking full advantage of this golden opportunity to please myself as much as possible."
What a bizarre explanation! What does this 'Feto' person mean by he's sharing Aaron's body with him? Who is even Feto to begin with? Neither Mathéo nor Laura has heard of that name before and nothing that comes out of his mouth makes any sense to them. They both wonder if he could be one of the Zomer members who may have used his ability to possess their friend. That's the only sensible logic they can come up with after such a seld declaration.
"So, what do you want, Feto?" Mathéo asks him cautiously as he reaches into his back pocket to hold his gun in case the guy tries anything shady or dangerous. The brown skin teen slowly moves to Laura's front as a display of protection as he adds, "do you want to kill us or is it something even worse than that?"
"You don't have to use the word 'kill'; that just makes it sound like what I'm doing is gruesome and cruel. I just want to have a little feast on your souls to satiate my appetite, that's all. It's really not as horrible as you think. It'll be quick and painless, maybe even enjoyable depending on your kink," Feto admits as his smile widens even more, giving him the complete psychopath serial killer air. "So, now that you've gotten your answer, who wants to feed me first?"
