Chapter 1: Arrival! A Rough First Meeting!
Last time we got to meet Genta and see his first encounter with Agent Smith, who strong armed him into becoming the first in the rehabilitation program for difficult Homestays. However he has no idea what exactly he could end up dealing with when they arrive.
Genta woke up with a start as he looked over at his clock only to find it was four thirty in the morning. "I'm up a half an hour earlier then I usually wake up. That's never a good sign." Genta thought to himself as he drags himself out of bed and makes his way over to his dresser and picked out his outfit for today. Genta spent a bit longer then he normally would picking his clothes. "Should I go business casual or just casual? What is considered appropriate for meeting cultural exchanges?" Genta mumbled to himself as he continued to look through his clothing options to find what could be considered an appropriate outfit for his first meeting with his two newest guests. After another ten minutes of deliberation, Genta decided on casual with a white shirt, a black hooded jacket, jeans, and a pair of sneakers.
Genta gave himself one last look over in the mirror before nodding his head in approval before exiting his room. Genta made his way towards the elevator as he did every morning to get a cup of coffee. "Still can't believe renovations only took the exchange program three days to complete. I still think it's a little weird they renovated the basement and that storage attic they we haven't used in years." Genta thought to himself before he let out a tired yawn. The young man finally reached the elevator before entering it and pressing the button for the first floor. "Agent Smith said that she would be dropping off my two homestays around noon today. That should give me enough time to get ready." Genta thought to himself as the elevator dinged before the doors opened up to the ground floor.
Genta let out another yawn as he walked towards the buffet room where the coffee machines were. Genta entered the room before briskly shuffling over to the coffee machine before grabbing a mug. Genta poured himself a cup of coffee before adding a single creamer and a teaspoon of sugar. Genta took a sip of his coffee before letting out a content sigh. "Alright, I should probably start getting ready for Agent Smith's arrival." Genta mumbled to himself as he began walking out of the buffet room. Genta took another sip from his coffee as he entered the lobby. "I should probably get some work done before they arrive." Genta mumbled to himself as he sat down in one of the chairs in the lobby and placed his laptop case on the coffee table. Genta opened his laptop and powered it on before setting to work.
A Few Hours later
Genta gently rubbed his eyes as he leaned back in his chair, he had spent the last few hours doing paperwork for the resort and placing orders for the necessary foods, drinks, cleaning equipment, and any other necessities needed for the tourist and traveller season which will be starting up soon. "Alright, everything should be good to go for the start of the season." Genta mumbled to himself before he closed his laptop and stretched out his body to pop his stiff muscles. Genta put his laptop away before standing up from his chair and completely stretches out his body. "It's half past noon, Agent Smith should be here by now. Did something come up?" Genta thought to himself as he looked towards the entrance of the resort. As Genta was wondering where exactly the Cultural Exchange Agent was, he heard the sound of a vehicle approaching.
"Guess I spoke to soon." Genta mumbled to himself as he walked towards the entrance of the resort. When Genta stepped outside he saw a familiar black SUV and a large truck that he assumed was transporting the two rehabilitation program homestays. Genta saw Agent Smith exit the SUV who quickly shot him a smirk before waving at him as she walked up to the resort manager. "Mr. Fujiwara! It's good to see you again. Did the renovations go well?" Smith asked as she gave him a curious look while lowering her sunglasses to look him in the eyes. Genta shrugged his shoulders, about as well as they could've gone. "Yeah, nothing was damaged, but I still question how full renovations only took three days to complete." Genta admitted as Smith simply smirked at him.
"Our team is very efficient, now let me go get your homestays." Smith said before she walked over to the transport truck. Genta let out a tired sigh, he didn't know why, but talking to the Cultural Exchange Agent was for some reason was very exhausting. "She really sucks and energy you have outta ya right?" Genta turned to see a girl with wild red hair and two different colored eyes. Her skin was a sickly pale, like a corpse's. Stitches ran across her entire body, implying she was quite literally stitched together.
"Who are you?" Genta asked as he gave the girl a confused look. The girl let out a chuckle before slapping Genta on the back in a good natured manner. "The name's Zombina! Guess you could say I'm the world's liveliest corpse!" Zombina said in a jovial tone as she gripped Genta's shoulder and gave him a friendly shake.
"Well it's nice to meet you Zombina, but why are you here with Agent Smith?" Genta asked as he wondered why the zombie girl would be here with Agent Smith. Zombina smirked before pulling out a pistol from her jacket. "I'm here to make sure your new homestays behave. Wouldn't want you getting scared off day one!" Zombina said with a chuckle as she found the whole thing rather amusing. Genta however was concerned on what exactly his new guests could potentially do to him that would require a gun to keep them in check. Before Genta could ask any questions however, the sound of wheels rolling down a ramp could be heard. "Ahoy there land lover! So you're me new host? Yee certainly aren't as rough lookin as the last one!" Genta looked to see a girl in a wheelchair, she had short wild blonde hair and piercing red eyes.
She wore a black bandanna on top of her head, a red sleeveless jacket with an incredibly cropped blue and white striped shirt underneath, around her waist was a blood red skirt secured by a large brown belt that had a gold buckle. The lower half of her body was a shark tail.
The mermaid wheeled herself right up to Genta before offering her hand to the resort manager. "The name's Mako the Merciless! Nice to meet yee Chum! If yar willing to play nice i might offer you a position on me crew!" Mako said in a jovial tone as Genta grasped her hand before shaking it in a good natured manner. Mako let go of Genta's hand before wheeling herself over to Smith to talk to her for a moment. Genta looked over at Zombina, slightly confused by the girl's way of talking. "Get used to it rookie, all Mermaids are dramatic. Shark Mermaids just happen to love pirates." Zombina explained with a small chuckle as Genta simply nodded his head in understanding.
"So she likes pirates, I mean I've certainly dealt with weirder guests then pirate fanatics." Genta thought to himself as he decided to just let Mako have her fun with her whole pirate act. "Chum! Isn't this a little fancy for a couple of rejects like us?" Mako shouted at Genta gave her a confused look. "Did Smith not mention my family owning this resort?" Genta wondered to himself as he shot the Cultural Exchange Agent an accusatory look. "Mako, my family own this resort. You and the other homestays will be living here alongside me." Genta explained to the shark mermaid who cocked her head to the side. Mako looked at Genta, before looking at the resort, then back at Genta. The shark mermaid's eyes widened in complete shock at that piece of information.
"Bloody hell Chum! Didn't take ya for a damn rich kid!" Mako said with a good natured cackle as she slapped the armrest of her wheelchair in amusement. Mako then turned to the back of the truck where Smith seemed to be speaking with someone. "Oi,Legs get out here! This isn't a damn meeting place, it's where we're shacking up!" Mako barked at whoever was in the back of the truck that Smith was talking to. Suddenly a large figure roughly pushes past Smith. She had wild orange hair, six black eyes, she stood over seven feet tall. She wore a grey sleeveless jacket and a black strap that barely covered herself. Her arms were covered in a thick layer of orange hair that ended in black claws. Her lower body was that or tarantula, the same orange hair covering her spider body.
The Archne looked up at the resort with a scrutinizing gaze before turning to look at Mako. The Archne then locked eyes with Genta, leveling a glare at the resort manager. "At least it has room." The Archne woman then crawled over to Genta before roughly grabbing him by the front of his shirt, all six of her eyes biting into him with an intense glare. "Don't get any kind of ideas Fuzz, I'm watching you." The woman snarled before letting go of his shirt and scuttling into the resort. Genta let out an nervous sigh he didn't even know he had been holding in as Mako let out a hearty laugh. "Blow me down Chum! I think she likes yee!" Mako said with a cackle as she slapped Genta on the back supportively.
Genta shot Mako a bewildered look, he didn't get that impression at all from the girl. "Really? What would she have done if she didn't like me?" Genta asked in a cautious tone as part of him didn't really want to know. Mako's expression became more serious as she leaned forward in her wheelchair. "Well fer starters, yer bleeding head would probably been lodged in that wall over thar." Mako said in a deadly serious tone as Genta stiffened up at that explanation. Genta was beginning to wonder what exactly he had gotten himself into with joining this program. Smith fixed her disheveled glasses as she walked up to Genta with a slightly sheepish smile on her face.
"As you can see, Tara has quite the temper. Most large breed Archne tend to. She has had....disagreements with a few of her past host families. Hence why she was put into this program." Smith explained as delicately as possible however Genta had a pretty good guess as to what those "disagreements" were and how they ended. Zombina came up behind Genta and patted him on the back in a supportive manner. "Don't worry the office should've sent you and email with all you need to know and our emergency phone number." Zombina explained as Genta gave a nod of his head in acknowledgement. Smith adjusted her shades once again before she turned to face Genta directly.
"We'll be on our way, remember if you need anything or run into any issues, do not hesitate to call us." Smith instructed as Genta once again gave a nod of his head to acknowledge the instructions. Smith and Zombina both waved goodbye before climbing back into the SUV, the transport truck following after it down the road. "Well, we standing out here all day Chum, or are we exploring this fancy abode of yers?" Mako asked in a teasing tone as she shot Genta a toothy grin. Genta let a small smile spread across his face, at least one of his homestays seemed friendly. "Of course Mako, do you want me to push you?" Genta offered as he gave the mermaid a curious look. Mako's eyes widened in surprise as she was slightly taken aback by the offer.
A large toothy grin spread across Mako's face. "Well ain't ya just a gentleman Chum! I'll let you take the helm! Just don't steer us into no dangerous waters." Mako said teasingly as Genta rolled his eyes before gently grabbing the handles on the back of the wheelchair. Genta pushed Mako towards the front door as both of them entered the main lobby of the resort. When they got inside Mako let out a sharp whistle as she looked around the entire place. "Bloody hell Chum, this place lookin like one of them elite vacation spots!" Mako said impressed by just how fancy the place looked. Genta let out a small chuckle at her words. "It's not that fancy Mako, the resort offers rooms that even an average family or working class member of society can afford." Genta explained with a hint of pride in his tone.
"So why'd you take a couple of rejects like us in then?" Genta and Mako looked to see Tara standing by the elevators, an annoyed glare plastered across her face. Genta thought about the question for a moment before answering the Archne. "Well, my parents believed with all the breakthroughs of the Exchange Program, it was time to start preparing for Extra Species guests. They wanted me to volunteer so I could learn how to interact and help said future guests." Genta explained as Tara studied him for a moment, the glare never once leaving her face. Tara scoffed before entering one of the elevators and she shot another glare at Genta. "Careful what ya wish for Fuzz, you might not like what ya get." Tara snarled before the doors closed and the Elevator began traveling to the top floor.
"Aye, we better follow her, wouldn't want Legs scarin one of yer employees while lookin for her bleeding room." Mako stated as agents nodded in agreement before they both entered the second elevator. The doors closed behind them before the other elevator started the journey to the top floor. When the doors opened at the top, they found Tara looking around with a frustrated expression on her face. "Would you like me to lead you to your room Tara?" Genta asked in a friendly tone as the Archne turned to once again glare at him. "Can it Fuzz! Can't find anything in this damned place." Tara snarled but waited for Genta to lead the way regardless. Genta pushed Mako down the hallway as Tara followed behind them.
After a few minutes of walking the trio reached the end of the hallway, where a rather large door was on the ceiling, leading to an attic. "I don't know why they refurbished the attic for you, we have plenty of rooms." Genta said to himself thoughtful as he did find it rather strange. Tara roughly shoved passed Genta before reaching up and opening the door. A specialized ladder unfolded when the door opened. Tara quickly crawled up it, climbing into the room before slamming the door behind her. "Are you sure she likes me?" Genta asked Maki with a doubtful look in his eyes as he started pushing her back towards the elevators. Mako let out a chuckle at Genta's question. "Trust me Chum, I've known Legs long enough to know when she don't like someone. Now care to take me to me room?" Mako asked as Genta nodded before they continued to the elevators.
Basement
The duo travelled down to the basement where Mako's room was located. When the doors opened, to say Genta was shock would be an understatement. The main room was converted into a gigantic pool that certainly had a pirate them that matched Mako's tastes.
"Bloody hell! They practically turned yer basement into a pirate's paradise!" Mako said in a surprised tone, but had a giant toothy grin on her face all the same. Genta however was still taking it all in, how they managed to do this in three days was beyond him. "Aye, Chum ye mind if I go for a swim?" Mako asked as she looked at Genta over her shoulder. Genta wheeled her closer to the pool's edge before she leaped out of her wheel chair and dove beneath the water. Genta waited a few moments before Maki resurfaced with an unceremonious splash of water.
"Ah this is bloody wonderful! Gettin to stretch me find after being cooped up in that damned truck for three hours!" Mako said blissfully as she began swimming around the pool. Genta let a small smile spread across his face as he wheeled Mako's wheelchair over to the other side of the pool near the rock with a pirate sail. "Looks like your room is integrated into the rock over here Mako! You want me to leave your wheelchair over here?" Genta called out to the swimming mermaid who stopped to look at him. Mako shot him a toothy grin before swimming closer to him. "That be mighty white of ye Chum!" Mako said in her usual jovial tone as Genta rolled his eyes at the mermaid's comment before parking the wheelchair.
Gents then turned to see that Mako was simply floating on the top of the water, a content smile on her face. "Do you want me to give you some privacy? Get used to your new room?" Genta asked as he waited for the mermaid to give him an answer. Mako swam over to the side of the pool Genta was standing at, a toothy grin on her face. "Be for ye set sail, thanks Chum. I know Legs can be a real pain in the arse sometimes, but it means a lot ye was willing to take us in." Mako said with genuine appreciation as Genta let a smile of his own spread across his face. "Think nothing of it Mako, I was happy to do it." Genta said causing the pirate loving mermaid to snort before diving back underneath the water, splashing Genta in the process.
Genta shook his head in amusement befor making his way back to the elevator. Genta selected the lobby as he would have to go there before switching to the elevator that will lead to his floor. "Maybe this won't be so bad, Mako seems really friendly, I wonder how she ended up in the rehabilitation program?" Genta wondered to himself as he found it strange someone so friendly ended up getting kicked out of her host home. Genta's thoughts then turned to Tara, the Archne seemed pretty hostile right off the bat and wasn't keen on getting to know him. "I might have my work cut out for me with her. But she didn't seem all that violent, maybe she's just frustrated?" Genta pondered on his other homestay. One thing he knew for certain, it would be an uphill battle with the Archne girl.
