Pokaradon (MR)
Monster Report #6
Greenland
A group of seal hunters had just finished their breakfast and set off into the snowy area in search of seals.
For those unaware, 'Seal Hunting' is a practice that is common in some European countries, in which hunters club seal's heads in to preserve the pelt, it is a brutal practice that has garnered scrutiny from several.
But nevertheless, seal hunts still happen, such as this one today.
One lone hunter traveled across the icy plateau to find any seals right for hunting, and find them he did.
The seals varied in size, from the very small to the somewhat large, all near a dark cave, the quantity of them all meant a good profit.
The hunter got onto the radio that he had attached to his shoulder.
Hunter: I found a whole group of them Northwest of base camp, I'm going to need help gathering them all.
The radio operator at base camp spoke through the hunter's radio.
Operator: Alright, gather as many as you can on your own, the others will be there in about an hour.
The hunter took his hand off his radio, and equipped his club, ready to do his work.
The hunter cautiously approached the herd of seals, careful as not to disturb them.
The hunter tightened his grip on his club when he found a small seal that was right for the picking.
The hunter lifted his club up, prepared to strike the creature down when...
He heard a noise come from the cave, followed by the sound of heavy movement of the ice.
The hunter turned around to face the cave, and found a large creature resembling a walrus staring him down.
Pokaradon
Nervous as to the creature's intentions, the hunter dropped his club as he stared at the creature in awe.
The creature, seemingly understanding that the hunter was not a threat, moved over to the herd of seals, laying down in the center.
The hunter nervously turned on his radio, speaking quietly as not to startle the creature.
Hunter: Home base...there's a...giant walrus here...
The operator at home base laughed.
Operator: A walrus? Did you sip too much drink last night? Walrus' don't come around that area.
Hunter: I swear! It's a giant walrus! Bigger than I've ever seen.
Operator: Just club it! At the very least it will get spooked when you hit it.
The hunter took the operator's advice, and nervously picked up his club.
The hunter cautiously walked past the seals to the creature, which laid on the ice sleepily.
The creature noticed the hunter approaching him, but didn't seem concerned as it continued to lay on the ice.
The hunter got close to the creature, lifting his club and aiming it at the creature's head, and swung it down with all his might...
And his club broke against the creature's head.
The hunter looked at his club in disbelief as the creature slowly got up, rage in it's eyes.
Meanwhile
The group of hunters sent to aid the lone hunter were traveling across the ice, laughing as they went.
Hunter 1: Haha! A giant walrus! He must be drunk!
Hunter 2: With the number of drinks he downed, I wouldn't be surprised!
The hunters laughed as they traveled, but were interrupted by a roar in the distance.
Hunter 3: What was that?
Hunter 2: It was no seal...
Then suddenly, the lone hunter ran to them, and yelled as he ran past them.
Lone Hunter: RUN!!! IT'S A WALRUS!!!
The hunters looked back at their fleeing compatriot, and looked back to see the monster that he had tried to club in hot pursuit.
The other hunters ran alongside their friend as the creature chased them all.
Lone Hunter: I told you it was a walrus!
Hunter 1: That's not a walrus!
The hunters ran back to base camp, where the operator watched them run up through the tent flap.
Operator: What are these idiots up to?
The operator walked out of the tent.
Operator: Where are the seals!?
The hunters didn't answer as they ran past the operator and towards their snowmobiles.
The operator looked back and saw the monster charging towards the base camp.
Operator: Oh god...
The operator ran up to the hunters who had started the snowmobiles and were ready to take off.
The operator turned to see the monster destroying the base tents and equipment.
The operator jumped onto a snowmobile that was named by a hunter.
Operator: Go!
The group sped off into the snow as the monster roared amongst the ruins of the base camp.
