Monster Report #5
Singapore

A group of poachers, in a Jeep with loud music blaring, were driving quickly through a rough jungle road.

A trapper in the back of the Jeep spoke up to the two in front, the leader and rifleman.

Trapper: If the rumors are true we are looking at a huge payday!

Rifleman: Right! The biggest ape in Singapore!

Leader: We're gonna be rich!

The three laughed as they drank beer on their way to the hunting spot.

Once they arrived at the hunting spot, the Jeep came to a sudden halt, and the poachers jumped out, rifles in hand.

The leader spoke to the other two.

Leader: Alright, listen up! The rumors are that this ape climbs up on the trees, so keep your eyes up. If you see anything, say something.

Rifleman: Alright.

The leader spoke to the trapper.

Leader: Set up traps along the hunting spot, if it hits the ground, it'll trigger the trap.

Trapper: On it boss!

With that, the three separated into three different directions in the jungle.

The trapper did as the leader said, and began to set traps along the jungle ground.

While the trapper did his work, the rifleman moved along the jungle cautiously.

The rifleman found an odd webbing on a tree branch that was hanging down to the ground.

Rifleman: Is this...webbing?

The rifleman heard a loud noise in the trees, that sounded like a string of web attaching to a surface.

The rifleman aimed his rifle up to the trees, following the noise as it circled him.

Then suddenly, the noise stopped directly above the rifleman.

The rifleman looked up into the trees, but the branches were to thick to see through.

Suddenly, with the rustling and breaking of tree branches, a large figure jumped down and attacked the rifleman, his screams filling the air for the leader to here.

Leader: What the?

The leader ran to the rifleman's position, and when he arrived, found his rifle badly damaged and covered in webbing.

Leader: What is this stuff?

The leader looked up into the trees but saw nothing.

While this was happening, the trapper was setting up traps while listening to music through earbuds.

The trapper was happily humming to himself as he thought on the lucrative pay they would receive for capturing the ape they heard of.

Then, the trapper felt a odd substance on his shoulder, and when he looked over, saw that it was a webbing reaching down to his shoulder from the trees above.

Suddenly, the trapper was lifted into the trees, his screams catching the attention of the leader.

Leader: What? Him too!?

The leader ran to the trapper's location, but only found his earbuds in the same webbing as the rifleman's rifle.

Leader: What is going on!?

The leader heard a rustling behind a tree, and upon investigation, found a small, orange and white furred, ape like creature that was chewing on a piece of fruit.

Leader: Is this the ape? It's not nearly as big as the rumors said...

The leader approached the small creature, pulling his knife from his boot.

Leader: Regardless, I will get paid one way or another.

The creature noticed the leader approaching him, and let out a cry, which in turn caused the trees above to rustle violently.

The leader readied his rifle, looking up in a panic.

Then, a large creature that looked like a larger version of the smaller one came down from the trees, growling at the leader.

Gogomoa

The creature growled at the leader as the smaller one climbed on it's back.

The leader quickly aimed his rifle at the creature, but was struck by it's large hand, which sent him flying into a tree trunk.

The leader quickly got up, and ran to his Jeep, with the creature letting out a roar and chasing him via webbing that it launched from it's hands onto the branches above.

The creature swung quickly after the leader, who was nearing the Jeep.

Just as the leader was opening the Jeep door, the creature fired a webbing onto his back.

The creature pulled leader back, but he held on to the door handle tightly.

After a moment of struggling, the creature pulled on it's webbing, and pulled the leader back into the jungle, his screams filling the air.
