First Mission

Amanda and Diego both arrived at the dock that the Apocalypse was stationed at, their personal bags on their shoulders.

Amanda: So that's going to be home for the next few months.

Diego: I'm gonna lose it if it doesn't have WiFi.

Amanda: Focus Diego. We're here on a mission by the president himself, at lest show some professionalism.

Diego: I'm a total professional.

Just as Diego said that, his bag came unzipped, and out fell weapon parts, candy, and a Nintendo Switch.

Amanda looked at Diego disappointingly.

Diego gathered his things back in his bag, and entered the Apocalypse with Amanda.

The two saw a well dressed man in a vest and dress shirt with a arm full of books.

Amanda: That must be Jensen.

Diego: The Brainiac guy?

Amanda rolled her eyes and went to meet Hugo.

Amanda: Hugo Jensen?

Hugo: Yes, that's me.

Amanda: I'm captain Amanda Cho, this moron is my lieutenant, Diego Santana.

Diego: Sup.

Hugo: Good to meet you both, may I inquire as to where we are headed?

Amanda: I don't know, we have briefings on several creature sightings waiting for us in the navigation room.

Diego: Then let's go! I wanna see the monsters!

Diego ran ahead of Amanda and Hugo.

Hugo: He seems ready to start.

Amanda: He's gonna get creamed by the first thing we see.

Amanda walked forward, with a dumbfounded Hugo close behind.

The group arrived in the navigation room, where they met the captain of the ship.

Captain: Hello hunters, I'm the captain of this ship, Marcus Warren.

Diego: Hi, where can I sync up the WiFi?

Amanda put two fingers on her nose.

Amanda: Jesus, Diego...

Hugo stepped forward

Hugo: Are the information folders loaded onto the navigation system?

Marcus: Yes, we have each individual monster sighting loaded up in the system. And sadly...

The captain pressed a button on the navigation console, and several folders appeared in a holographic image.

Hugo: There's so many...

Amanda: Where are they coming from?

Diego: More importantly, how do we kill em?

Amanda: We've been given strict orders to capture these creatures alive, So tone it down Diego.

Diego: So I brought a dozen blocks of C4 for nothing?

Hugo: You don't have those on your person now, do you?

Amanda stepped up to the navigation console.

Amanda: Alright, we should focus on the creatures-

Diego: Monsters! They are definitely monsters!

The room went silent.

Amanda: Monsters that have caused the most amount of damage.

Marcus: That would belong to this one.

Marcus pulled up a folder that highlighted a red dot on the navigation map, set in Alaska.

Marcus: A remote ice fishing village several miles from Anchorage have reported a...shark...in a nearby lake.

Diego: A shark? In frozen over water? In Alaska?

Hugo: The monsters biology must be set to a cold environment.

Amanda: Do we have any intel?

Marcus: Eyewitness accounts claim that the monster attacks anything that comes near the lake, and have also reported that the creature can coat it's body in sharpened ice.

Diego: So it's a ice shark that can cover itself in ice...awesome!

Hugo: If the creature is used to a cold environment, then we can use fire to run it into a trap.

Diego: Well lucky for you guys I brought a whole set of flamethrowers on board.

Amanda: So we use the flamethrowers to push the monster into a trap, but how do we get it out of the water?

Marcus: We could use mines, we have them on the ship and can deploy them in the lake.

Amanda: That should work.

Hugo: Though it will anger the monster.

Amanda: We can't afford to make it feel welcome, we need to capture it as soon as possible.

Marcus: With that, I'll set our destination to Alaska.

Marcus left to set the ship to sail.

Hugo: I wonder if they have a photo or video of the monster?

Diego: It's a ice shark, who would get close enough to take a picture?

Hugo clicked through the folder, and found a video inside.

Hugo pulled the video up for the group to watch.

The video was taken by a villager who was going to investigate a loud disturbance.

After checking the ice, a loud rumbling could be heard, and a large fin broke through the ice and advanced on the villager.

Just as the fin was going to hit the villager, it submerged back into the lake, and after a moment of silence, the monster jumped out and lunges at the villager, narrowly missing them.

Hugo backed the video up to the best picture of the monster.
