Blangonga (MR)
Monster Report #3
Inuit Reservation, Canada
Within one of the several snow covered buildings on the reservation was a mother and her young daughter, the daughter of which was preparing a basket of fish and fruit.
Mother: That is a odd basket, who is it for?
Daughter: Mr. Kong, mama.
The mother laughed lightly.
Mother: You children and your imaginary friends. Tell me, where does Mr. Kong live?
Daughter: He lives in the tress just a little bit in the forest, I give him food and he stays and eats on a fallen over tree.
Mother: Sounds like a squirrel.
Daughter: Nope, he's a giant monkey, like the ones with the funny red faces I saw in class at school.
The mother laughed lightly again.
Mother: You're so imaginative. Be sure to be back soon, I don't want you to get cold.
Daughter: Okay, mama.
The daughter set off out to the snow covered forest.
She walked past the small lake on the rickety rope bridge that the village had built, and climbed over hills of snow to reach the fallen over tree where she was to meet her friend.
The girl put the basket on the tree, and pulled a blanket from her bag, which she put on a rock and sat on.
Daughter: Mr. Kong? I brought you your favorite, fish and fruit.
A loud rustling came from up in the trees.
Daughter: There you are Mr. Kong!
A large, ale like creature came down from the trees.
Blangonga
The monster sniffed the girl, and let out a joyful purr once it realized who she was.
Daughter: I brought you your favorite, Mr. Kong.
The girl put the basket down in front of the monster, and it quickly ate the contents.
The girl sat on the fallen over tree as the monster ate.
Daughter: Eat up Mr. Kong, mama says that fish is good for your brain.
The creature ate joyously as the little girl watched.
Daughter: It's really nice to have a friend, all the other kids say I'm weird and don't let me play with them.
The monster looked at the girl sympathetically as it ate, it's cheeks full of food.
Daughter: I used to be really normal...until dad left.
The creature stopped eating, and let out a faint whimper.
Daughter: Dad and mom got into a big fight, it was because dad was always at our neighbors house. He said he was just helping with her plumbing, but mama didn't believe him. They both left. It's just me and mom now.
The girl began to cry silently.
To the girl's surprise, she felt a gentle, large finger wipe the tears from her face.
She looked up and saw that it was the monster who wiped her tears.
The girl smiled.
Daughter: I have you too, Mr. Kong.
The monster sat in front of the girl and offered her a piece of fruit, which she accepted.
After biting into the fruit, the girl spoke.
Daughter: Do you miss your family, Mr.Kong?
The monster let out another light whimper.
Those of you well versed in the monsters of monster hunter know that Blangongas are pack leaders of smaller Blangos, and that they are never far from their pack.
The Blangonga thought on it's children and other relatives who must be lost without it.
As the monster whimpered, it felt a small hug on it's side.
When the monster looked down, it saw that it was the girl giving him a hug.
Daughter: It's alright Mr.Kong, me and mama will be your family until you can get back to yours.
The monster purred happily.
