Cambodian Jungle

Amanda, Diego, and Hugo flew over the jungle in a helicopter, with another helicopter behind them carrying a team of soldiers.

Diego was readying a tranquilizer rifle, and spoke through his headset to the group.

Diego: Listen up! I loaded these rifles with potent tranquilizer darts, a few shots should down this thing.

Amanda: Are you sure?

Diego: We'll find out soon enough.

Hugo: The creature hunts in a general area around the ruins, so we should look for things like carcasses and the like.

Diego: And maybe droppings.

Hugo looked at Diego confused.

Hugo: Yes...and droppings

Amanda: We are coming up on the landing site now, get ready.

Both helicopters lowered themselves right above the thick jungle canopy, where both teams dropped down via rappel.

Amanda landed first, rifle in hand, and cautiously watched as the rest of the teams came down.

Once everyone had landed the helicopters flew off.

The group gathered around Amanda.

Amanda: We will split up into four groups, I and a soldier from unit 1 will cover the west, two groups of two from unit 1 cover the east and south, Diego and Hugo cover the north. If you see something, call out.

The group agreed in unison, and set off.

Diego took point with Hugo close behind.

Diego: So fell me Doc...you think this thing knows we're here?

Hugo: It would be difficult to not hear helicopters so close.

Diego: Right.

Diego saw something suspicious in a tree.

Diego: Look at this Hugo.

Both of the men looked at the tree, which seemed to be charred.

Hugo: This creature seems capable of emitting fire in a general area.

Diego activates his radio and spoke into it.

Diego: This is north team, we found fire marks on a tree.

The other teams spoke through the radio.

East Team: Roger, we just found some bones over here, they've been picked clean.

South Team: We got some knocked over trees here.

Amanda was leading west team through thick underbrush.

Amanda spoke into her radio.

Amanda: We have no signs of creature activity here.

Suddenly, a loud roar came over the air, causing birds to fly off.

Diego: You guy's hear that?

Amanda: It's coming from ahead of me, we'll investigate.

Diego: Watch yourself.

Amanda went passed the thick trees, and found a unbelievable sight.

Over a small river was the ruins, though no monster was in sight.

Amanda: This is west team, we found the ruins, all teams converge on our location.

Amanda cautiously led the way past the river.

Amanda spoke to herself.

Amanda: Where are you...

The other teams arrived at the ridge that Amanda had just left.

Diego called out to Amanda, who was halfway past the river.

Diego: Hey! You found them!

Amanda called back

Amanda: Yeah, get down here so we-

Suddenly, a large creature crashed into the river, separating Amanda's team and the others.

Diego: What is that!?

The creature let out a monstrous roar, and charged at Amanda's team.

Diego: RUN AMANDA!!! RUN!!!

Amanda's team ran towards the ruins as the creature chased them.

Diego and the other fired at the creature, but could not get it's attention away from Amanda's team.

Hugo: We need to get closer!

Diego: Good idea! Advance!

The group ran up behind the creature, firing at it.

Amanda and the soldier following her were hiding behind a ruin pillar, and struggled to evade the creature as it tried to get to them.

The creature turned to see the group, and swiped away a handful of soldiers with it's tail.

Diego: Use the tranquilizers!

The remaining soldiers readied their weapons, but where cast aside by the creature jumping into the air and landing hard on the ground where they stood.

Several soldiers, along with Hugo, were sent hurdling into the river.

Diego, still standing, aimed his rifle and fired at the creature, the dart striking it and causing it to roar.

Diego struggled to load another shot as the creature advanced on him, it's nostrils emitting steam.

Hugo regained himself, his rifle in hand, and saw the creature advancing in Diego.

Hugo quickly readied his rifle, and steadied his aim.

Hugo: Come on Hugo, don't mess this up...

Hugo fired, and struck the creature on the neck just as it stood over Diego.

The creature stumbled for a moment, and fell unconscious onto the ground.

Diego looked at Hugo in shock.

Diego: That...was...dope!

Diego rushed across the river to hug Hugo.

Amanda and her team came from the pillar, and saw that everyone was alright, albeit a few injured.

As Amanda approached the creature, she could hear Diego praising Hugo.

Diego: You're the best bro! I was almost monster chow!

Hugo nervously accepted Diego's hug.

Hugo: Well, we are a team...

Amanda examines the monster closely.

Amanda: God...we need backup.
