Noctis, as usual, stood over a cliff watching over the Yukumo Village. He had been watching the village since making peace with the Four Seasonal Maidens. And he continued to watch over them after Ziana became the Chieftess.

He closed his eyes and recalled his time with his deceased mate and the discovery of Yukumo.

Noctis the Moon Demon flies over the trees with Athena by his side. The two Raths had been together for a century. And now they want to find a place they want to call home.

For what seemed to be an hour for flying, they found a cave near a cliff and flew inside.

Athena growls happily to Noctis as she puts her head under his and snuggles up. The Silver Rathalos smiles and cuddles with the Gold Rathian. They then proceeded to head inside to sleep.

Yellow eyes widened and Noctis rose from his slumber as he heard noises dangerously close to their home. Athena woke up as well and is looking at her mate in concern. Noctis growls softly at her, saying he will handle it before standing u and walking towards the cave entrance.

He sees multiple orange light at the bottom, indicating torches and the Moon Demon peaks down to see humans with houses. His eyes narrowed as he looks at them one by one before one individual caught his attention.

It is a male human standing over 6'4 ft tall, with spiky cyan and black hair with obsidian eyes and what seems to be a Black Diablos armor with a giant lance and shield made up of Agnaktor parts.

Beside him is a woman of similar height with gray eyes. She has dark blue hair tied in a ponytail wearing a Nargacuga armor with a bow and arrow made of the same said monster parts.

The two and the rest of the hunters stops at whatever they're doing as the heard the screech of a legendary creature.

"It's Noctis the Moon Demon!" A male shouts. But before anyone can react, the Moon Demon lands in front of them. Noctis spreads his wings as a sign of intimidation. The hunters, minus the two hunters in front of him, took a step back in fear.

The cyan and black haired male simply raised his hands and smiled. "We mean no harm to you, O great Moon Demon." He said. "We didn't know that we are invading you're territory."

The Silver Rathalos then turns his head to him and stares. He felt no negative intentions coming from all of them. He lowered his wings and stood calmly. The hunters sighed in relief as the male and female smiled.

Then, a pair of flapping wings caught their attention. Everyone looks up to see a Gold Rathian (Athena) descending down and landing next to Noctis. She growls at him to see what is going on.

Bu before he could answer, a loud engine like sound is heard. And out of the trees, a dragon with light blues scales and wings that are equipped with three rocket like functions that release an energy  called the Dragon Element is revealed, roaring the the Raths and the hunters.

"Valstrax!" The dark blue haired female said, drawing her bow and aiming. She isn't the only only as the rest got their weapons ready.

The Sky Comet Elder Dragon roars again to attack, until his eyes landed on Noctis, who does the same. Both immediately glare at one another and roars/screeches, catching the others by surprise. Athena looks on in worry.

"It would appear the Moon Demon and Valstrax have a intense rivalry for one another." The cyan and black haired male said, sheathing his weapon.

"You're right Zayn. Quick, everyone look for cover!" The dark blue haired female orders. Everyone nodded and behind bushes, trees or rocks. Meanwhile, Athena flies back to their cave to avoid the conflict.

The Sky Comet Elder Dragon roars as hi wings folded and bursts forwards as his rockets uses the Dragon Element to flies fast. The Silver Rathalos screeches as he activates his Moon Demon form and flies towards Valstrax.

In an instant both seemingly teleports, until multiple red and silver blur clash with with another, revealing both to be actually fast rather than teleportation.

Valstrax roars as he swings both his claws at Noctis, who does the same to him. The Elder Dragon then morphs his left wing into a spear before slashing at Noctis, who screeches in pain, but fires a fireball in retaliation to his face.

Noctis then somersaults, resulting in uppercutting  Valstrac with his tail, making him knock his head backwards before firing another fireball that blasts the Elder Dragon away.

Then out of the blue, the Sky Comet Elder Dragon's wings shifts forward, making them look backwards, before Valstrax flies backwards, the Noctis and the hunters' surprise. However, the former shook his head before flying forward.

Valstrax's wings' tips glowed red. As Noctis got closer, he roars as he raised his charged wings and swipes down.

Notics screeches in pain as he backs away from the attack. The Sky Comet's wings return to their normal position before morphing into spears, and folded them before zooming in towards the Moon Demon like a sharp bullet.

Noctis recovers just in time to see the Elder Dragon coming towards him really fast. Seeing no choice but to use it, Noctis releases silver flames from his mouth that surrounds him and morph into a flaming version of him with yellow eyes.

This is Noctis' finishing move; Wailing Moon.

Noctis screeches as he flies headfirst towards the incoming Valstrax. Both beasts let out a roar/screech as they and their attacks collide with one another. A huge explosion of red and silver is seen before smoke covers the area.

Everyone, including Athena, watched with waited breath to see what happens next. When the smoke clears, the Moon Demon and Sky Comet Elder Dragon are on the ground, sustaining damage.

However, because of his immortality, Noctis didn't have to worry about dying of blood loss, though he's tired . Valstrax isn't. Realizing, he is outmatched, he tries to stand up.

"Hey!" Valstrax looks to the side, only for Zayn to slam his lance down to his head, breaking some spikes off as he roars in pain. "Now!" He roared to the others.

Ropes are quickly thrown by the hunters as it held the Sky Comet Elder Dragon down. Valstrax roars as he tried to free himself, but his injuries prevent him from doing so.

The dark haired female, now named Zoe, dips two of her arrows in a cyan bottle before putting it on her bow and aiming. Taking a deep breath, she releases and it struck Valstrax in the face. He roars for the final time before darkness clouds his vision.

The Elder Dragon's head drops to the ground, making the hunters cheer in victory as he's finally put to sleep. Zoe smiled as she walks

They heard a noise to their side. Zyan and Zoe turns and fins Athena helping Noctis back to his feet. He grunts at Athena as if saying 'thank you' before looking at them.

Unexpectedly, he forwards his left wing. This confused the hunters until they realized he is doing for a handshake. With akward silence, Zayn riased his right hand and shook Noctis' wing.

"Thank you for defending my people. We are forever in your debt." Zayn praised.

The Moon Demon smiled as he looks back to Athena, who nods. They both took flight and return to their cave while the hunters cheers and celebrate. Zoe wraps her arm around Zayn's.

"They are perfect for each other, just like us." Zoe said, leaning on his shoulder while smiling at the two Raths.

"Yeah." Zayn replied, smiling as well.

Noctis opens his eyes before looking over where her bed is. He smiled sadly at the memories that came back, along with the sad ones. Athena was killed by the Grimm Queen's pawns; Tyrian, Doctor Watts and Hazel. And he slaughtered them without mercy in a fit of rage. Now, nothing can bring her back and he knows it.

The Silver Rathalos shook his head. Athena wouldn't want him to be clinging to the past. She wanted him to move on, for both their sake.

His thoughts are cut off when he sensed something wrong. Noctis raised his head and sensed it came from the Amity Colosseum, which is floating above the city of Vale. It's also where Ziana and the others are.

He knew he to try find out what's going on, but he can't do it alone. Not by a long shot. Immortal he may be, but he doesn't possessed limitless stamina like Elder Dragons do.

Knowing what he had to do, the Silver Rathalos spreads his wings and took flight.
