And I Thought The Prices Were Robbery!
Jess Pov.
"Don't move, or she'll get a bullet in her brain!" A finicky brown haired man yells. Everyone in the restaurant freezes, and Shubbs has a look of pure terror.
"I don't think you want to do that." I reply calmly, taking another bite of pasta. I've seen his type before, he's a pushover.
"Oh, I'm certain I do!" He laughs. The team looks at me like I've gone insane. I receive a look of betrayal from all of them.
"Nope, pretty sure you don't." I state flatly.
"What makes you think that?!" I slowly draw my pistol from my pocket, and level it at his face.
"Because fifty bucks says I'm a better shot. What's your story, sick wife? Maybe starving children? A man forced to crime? Let me tell you buddy, you've got a choice. Number one, you try to shoot her, and receive a clean shot between your eyes. Two, you drop the weapon, and walk out to the police, hands up. Three, you try to use hostages anyways, in which case I'll make your life a living hell. Choose, buddy." I get a bunch of incredulous looks from the crew, and oh no. Laurence has recognized me!
"Aphmau, is that really you?!" I don't respond, knowing I'll dig my grave if I do.
"I'd take that bet, what's a little girl like you going to do?!" The insult triggers me. I shoot three times, each bullet finding a neat hole in his crotch. He crumples in pain, releasing Shelby. I fire twice more, one for each hand.
"That. Learn who you're talking to next time." He makes a desperate kick towards me, which I easily sidestep. He's collapsed on the ground, almost bleeding out. "I think you made your choice. You have a death wish." There's another shot, and he's gone. I examine my handiwork. The bullet in his brain was asymmetrical! I groan in frustration, I'll never get a perfect kill! There's a bunch of spray fire, and cops are pouring in, only to find I've done their work for them. I'm taken to the police station to answer questions, and I'm grateful. I don't have to confront the crew, or Laurence. I know I'll have to sometime, but prolonging it is a temporary painkiller.
