Edit 12/22/24: Added more dialogue between reader and Eren

You watched as Eren shuffled around the room while you sat on a nearby table, cleaning up all the dust. 

You and Eren both agreed to clean each side of the large room. You clean one side and Eren cleans the other. 

You became bored and found enjoyment in watching the dust particles fluttering in one section of the room. 

Made you realized how entertained you are as a person if you find dust particles fascinating to look at.  

"What are you looking at?" Eren asked. 

"...!" You flinched a bit. Dammit, how long have you been staring at particles of dust? Eren probably thinks you looked crazy from afar. 

"Come on, get a move on. If we want to get on Captain Levi's good side, we got to finish cleaning this room." Eren complained. He sounded annoyed but you heard the shift in his voice when he mentioned Captain Levi. 

Looks like Titan Boy is still scared of the small, but mighty Captain Levi. Not like you blame him, but you weren't going to pass up the opportunity to tease him. 

'Scaredy-cat?' You signed. 

"Hey, who are you calling a scaredy-cat!? I'm not scared!" He turned his back on you, quickly getting back to work. Your smirked widened as you swiftly got in front of him. 

'Yes, you are! I can see it on your face!' 

"I told you to lay off! I'm not scared of Captain Levi!"

'...Your ears are red.' 

Eren's faced flushed as you stuck your tongue out at him. You were so glad Mikasa told you Eren's ears turn red every time he lies. 

"Fine, what if I'm scared!? You should be too! Isn't he your mentor now? What's he going to think of you when see his mentee slacking off?!" He argued. 

You huffed, giving him an angry pout as you went on the tips of your toes to stare him in the eye. A way to make yourself "taller" and "intimidating" when someone gets on your nerve, a habit you wished Eren never pointed out. 

'I already finished my side. Looks like you're the one slacking off.' You smirked again as Eren stared back at you in annoyance, but you could see and sense the defeat from him. 

You beamed triumphantly as you made your way back to your side of the room. But as you did, Eren's brattiness wanted him to get one last word in. 

"...Show off." He poked at your lower back as you walked past. You let out a yelp as you squirmed away. 

"..." Eren was quiet for a few moments as he stared at you in bewilderment. You stared back at him, your arms hugging your body close, surprised at the noise you made. 

You forgot you were ticklish, but Eren's touch took you by surprise. A mischievous smile grew across Eren's face, you were starting to get scared. 

Uh oh...

"Oh? Are you ticklish there?" he asked, his hand reaching out to poke you again. You managed to back away, but Eren still kept his pursuit. He eventually backed you into a corner, your body against the table. 

"...Eep!" You squeaked when Eren managed to poke your side, you squirmed again to get his arm away. 

"Ha! You are!" With nowhere to run, Eren began to poke and tickle at your sides. You started to squeak and squeal in laughs, trying to fight against Eren's attack. 

Your body pressed against the table as your arms fought to push Eren away, but your strength was faltering due to Eren's tickles. You could only weakly push his arms away. Eren smirked and laughed at your attempts to fight back, this was definitely your karma for teasing him. 

"I'm a scaredy-cat, huh? At least my weakness isn't being ticklish." You shook your head frantically and started to push at Eren's shoulders, signaling him to stop. 

"Want me to stop? No, this is payback. Don't start a fight you can't finish." You huffed. You definitely finished the fight, Eren's just being a sore loser! 

"Payback, fine! But getting on your nerves was so worth it! Don't think I'll forget this, titan boy!" you thought. 

Eren finally stopped, his hands were now on your waist, his laughs died down. He looked down at you as you tried to regain yourself together. 

"Haha. Serves you right." He stuck his tongue out at you while you huffed at him. 

You took the free seconds you have to get your breathing back to normal. Once you realized Eren wasn't acting up again, you let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, it was over. 

His grip on your waist tightened a bit as he closed his eyes, seemingly deep in thought. You looked up at him curiously and snapped your fingers in front of his face to get his attention. He abruptly let go. 

"It's nothing. Everything's fine. I was just thinking." he looked around the room. 

"I think we're done here."

Don't you mean you're think you're done here?

"I'm going to tell Captain Levi that we've finished." he ruffled your hair before leaving. 

"Be back in a bit."

You awkwardly waited for him to return. After a little while, you heard footsteps. 

"Eren?" You thought. 

But you were wrong. Captain Levi soon entered the room, you flinched. 

He noticed you in the room but didn't acknowledge you. You began to grow nervous. 

Ever since what happened back at court, you didn't know what to think of Captain Levi. He's a complicated person. Eren explained what he did was for the good the situation, but others said he went too far. 

What did he think of you? You heard from Eren that Hange was seemingly upset about the progress of your training with the Captain. That they later had a conversation with both him and Commander Erwin. 

What did they say? 

"Tch, the brat barely did shit in here." he cursed. Is he even going to talk to you?

He kept walking around the room, ignoring your existence. This made you more scared. Oh walls, what if he is mad at you!? He's not even acknowledging your existence!

"I'm going to call that brat back in here." he muttered before walking out. You felt yourself sadden. 

He really is angry with you...

Just then, he turned his head towards you, giving you a hard look. You flinched back and stared back, sweat drops present on your face. 

Oh walls, oh walls, oh walls, oh walls, oh walls, what is he going to do!? Is he going to murder you when he has the chance!?

You could have sworn you saw his face soften when seeing how nervous you were. Finally, he spoke. 

"Did you do anything at least?" He asked. 

You nodded and gestured to your side of the room. 

He looked around for a bit. 

"Well at least you're a better cleaner than the titan brat." He commented. 

"Don't look so stiff, I should be the last person you want to fear right now." 

"Mmm..."

"I'm telling that boy he needs more work to do. Do me a favor and supervise him. You already done enough." He said before making his way out the room. 

A few minutes later, Eren returned back looking devastated. 

"He sent me back here to clean again. Not only that, but I'm sleeping in the cellar tonight. Guess I'm not fully trusted around here."

You stared at him for a moment before hopping off the table and pinching his cheeks, trying to make him smile. 

"Eren, you look good when you're happy."

"Hey, quit that, it's weird." He said while pushing you away in a teasing manner. 

*Time Skip*

After spending the whole day cleaning the castle, you all settled down in the mess hall discussing about the upcoming expedition to somewhere that Erwin made decisions for. The expedition was approaching fast as well.  

"What happens when you become a titan?" Eld asked. You looked at Eren, waiting for his answer. 

"Well...I actually don't know. My memory of that day is slowly fading away that I forgot the feeling of what it felt like in there. But I do remember something to trigger it, like biting my hand."

Biting his hand? Why on earth would he do that? Isn't that painful!?

"You were with Captain when they first arrested him, right Y/n? Did you see how big his titan was!?" Petra asked. 

You nodded and began gesturing the size Eren's titan was. 

'He was huge! But not as big as the titan that attacked Wall Maria and Rose.' You signed. 

"Which is why they will be helping you." Captain Levi said. 

"They?" Eren asked. 

"Hange..." You thought. 

Just then you all heard a loud bang from the door, Petra got up from her seat and opened it. Hange stood there with a bright smile. 

Did they just run into the door?

"Hello Squad Levi! How's castle life treating everyone!?" 

"You're too early." Levi said while sipping his tea. 

"Am I!? I just got here!" 

"Section Commander Hange?" Eren asked. 

"Hello Eren. And you too, Y/n!" Hange cooed. You gave her a shy wave. 

"Mind if I ask you two something?"

"Uh, yeah. What is it?"

"Eren, I would love for you to assist me on a titan experiment tomorrow. And Y/n, I've heard you're an excellent artist! You'll be helping me with sketching!" 

"Uh...what do you mean by titan experiment?"

"Idiot...shut up..." Oluo warned. 

"Well I'm glad you asked my dear boy!" Hange said while grabbing Eren's hand. 

Without warning, Levi stood up and began to walk out. The rest of the squad followed, and the door slammed shut, leaving only the three of you in the room. 

Why did they leave?

Wait...should you leave too!?

"Glad you still stay with us, Y/n!" Hange cooed. 

Well, guess that's not an option anymore. 

"Well if you want to know so much, I'll tell you. It all started when I captured my first titans." Hange continued. 

*A Few Hours Later* 

"And that's how I came to my conclusion. Understand now?" Hange asked. 

"Yes...we understand perfectly well..." Eren said in a tired voice. 

At least Eren was able to look at her, you kept dozing in and out of sleep while they droned on. 

You were about to slip into sleep once more until the doors slammed open, causing you to bang your head against the table harshly. This alarmed Eren and woke him up. 

"SHIT!" You cursed in your head, cradling it as you groaned in pain. 

"Hey--! You okay!?" Eren asked, trying his best to comfort you by rubbing the spot on your head. 

 Hange smiled at the two of you before turning around to see who it was. 

"IS SQUAD LEADER HANGE HERE!?"

"That would be me, yes. What happened?"

"Both titan subjects...HAVE BEEN KILLED!!"

Your eyes widened. 

Well...that happened.
