the cries and begs filled the dark night as he watched, emotionless and empty, his blue fur glowing under the moon light ad his emerald eyes shone brightly, but also a growing darkness clouded them as he watched as one by one fell to the ground dead as his solders hacked away at the people of the village he had invaded

"This is the fifth village you've attacked in a week, my King"

"It's splendid isn't it?" he smiled as the crimson liquid was illuminated by the flames 

""Your a monster!" a small boy cried as he yelled

the kings men turned to him and surrounded him, but stopped when the blue hedgehog walked towards the little fox

"let me tell you a story" he chuckled dryly as he stood above the boy, who shook in fear "when  i was a boy, i learned everyone was a monster"

"no! only you!" the boy screamed as tears fell

"you don't know of the darkness that consumes everyone, i'm actually feeling generous tonight, so" The king paused as he crouched down and whispered into the boy's ear "Run" 

the fox's eyes widened as he took off into the dark forest

"sire what di-"

"Bring me my sword" the blue hedgehog smirked wickedly

"playing games with a worthless child?" his general chuckled darkly as he handed the king his sword

the king grabbed the long blade and hopped onto his horse 

"when i return i expect the village to be in flames, or you all will be executed by my hand, two men with me" he ordered

The fox ran through the forest fear coursing through his veins, he was suddenly pulled off of the ground and would had screamed if his mouth hadn't been covered but a gloved hand

"shh" an adults voice shushed him as three horses rode underneath them 

"find him" The King ordered

the two guards next to him nodded and went in different directions

"i know your here~" the hedgehog smirked as he looked around, the area eliminated by the moonlight

"stay here" the adult said quietly to the fox as he let him go and jumped down and stood behind the blue hedgehog

"what a surprise, if it isn't the very person messing with my plans' the king laughed as he turned and looked at the other 

"you got my attention hedgehog, why slaughter innocents?!" the other snapped

"innocents? no one is innocent these days Shadow" the blue hedgehog grinned at the red and black hedgehog in front of him "plus what a stupid move to come here alone!"

"who said he was alone?" a voice rose from the shadows

"Mephilies and Shadow, such a treat, leaders of the resistance" the king laughed

"your insane" Shadow growled as he drew his swords

"what your doing is wrong!" Mephiles shouted

"fear is control and control is power" the king said his voice filled with calmness "which you both should cower before"

"no, in the end you will perish in the end Maurice"Shadow growled as he held his blade to his throat

but he was slashed by one of the guards who had come with Maurice,  Shadow hissed as Maurice laughed

"you won't win this fight"

"then we'll live to fight another day" Mephiles stated as he faded into the shadow's and appeared by the small fox as Shadow slashed at the guard who had attacked him, the other guard only watched

but then went to attack the king, but his sword was stopped by the kings own

"heh you know what happens to traitors Silver" King Maurice smirked wickedly 

"well you left me no choice..." Silver mumbled as he threw Maurice and the guard far enough away "you won't beat him today..."

Shadow nodded

"move out" he ordered 

Silver watched as Mephilies brought the child down, who was crying

"why should we trust you?" mephiles asked

"i know a lot about the king...and he's not the same as he once was" Silver sighed "but i'm not telling you to trust me, but they'll be up soon and they will kill you, and a price will be placed on my head...."

"you...knew him before he was King?" Shadow asked, and only got a nod in reply

"you can come, but if you try anything we will kill you" Mephiles said

"of course" Silver nodded as he removed his amour 'and i'm sorry about your village..." he apologised to the little fox
