His head spun a little as he opened his eyes, his heart sunk and his eyes widened as he found himself in the room he had fled years ago, yet it looked as if he never left, yet as he looked beside him he saw Scourge there, it honestly confused him, he'd just been in the dark forest, yet this whole place felt off and he found it hard to breath, Scourge shifted and opened an eyes, but was just as shocked at their discovery that Zonic had been

"Z? Z are you okay?" Scourge frowned as he sat up and moved beside him

"I-I can't breath properly" Zonic managed to cough out, but he could feel something climbing up his throat as he did, Scourge stayed by him worried as he comforted Zonic, eventually when he calmed down he was able to breath again, but as he looked don at his hand a black liquid stained his gloves "W-what?"

"It's the plant..." Scourge said softly, yet seemed not to suffer the same effects as his husband

"So this is all an illusion?" Zonic asked 

"Yeah..." Scourge stated "Come on, why don't we look around..."

"Okay..." Zonic mumbled

but as they were about to get out of bed, the door opened and their stood the long dead king of the kingdom, yet there was a cheery glow to his face as he walked in, an expression Zonic had not seen since he was a child

"Ah I see your up already, I was gonna get the little munchkin to come get you up, but seems there's no need" The shine in Jules eyes was all too real, as he held himself high and proud "Your trip to the neighbouring kingdom has taken an unexpected amount of time has it not? Ah but the again it's on a different continent as there would've been so much to do, but anyways, why don't you both come down for some breakfast?" Zonic looked a little confused as his father had spoken, Scourge was too, but the pieces slowly fell into place as he spoke his words carefully

"Right of course" Scourge stated as he watched Jules, who gave a bright smile and a nod before exiting the room

"Oh and your son has been during to see you again, after all it's been almost four years" Jules smiled before closing the door, leaving the two to slowly figure out what was happening

"Did... Did he just say our son?" Zonic whispered 'I haven't seen him since he was two... but... he said it's only been four years... when we haven't seen him in fourteen..." 

"I don't know... But we'll get out of this okay... I promise, but lets go before he gets suspicious..." Scourge sighed, but this all felt too real for him, like this was meant to be their happily ever after, before Jules banished them, before the mess, before they lost their son, yet al he could do was play along, to keep Zonic calm and find a way out
