It had been two days since they had found out, Mephiles seemed to be more distressed by the news than he had been about the fact that the old king's son was out to kill everyone, but the news that this wasn't his son, but a servant of the darkness

"So what are we meant to do now?" Scourge asked as he rose a brow

"There's not much we can do" Mephilies sighed, and everyone looked to him in surprise

"What do you mean 'Not much we can do' Mephilies?!" The voice was sharp and bitter, one they were all unfamiliar with coming from Scourge's boyfriend, Zonic

"There's not much we can do where we're going" Mephilies stated "Last time i was there...I barely escaped with my life"

"Well it doesn't matter to me what you do, I'm going" Zonic glared as he stormed past Mephilies

"What's got him so pissed?" Shadow rolled his eyes, while Scourge remained silent

"It's a long story..." Was all he said as he followed the other "Do what you wish, but We're helping the knight get the prince back..."after that he sped off after Zonic who had gotten a fair amount of distance away

"What does he mean by that?"

Zonic kept going, even as tears had begun to fall, he wished things played out differently in the past...He had so many regrets and so many shattered dreams...all because of his father...

"Zonic!" He heard Scourge call out and felt a hand on his shoulder as the tears kept falling "Hey...Everything we be okay..."

"How?...We thought my father turned him into a monster...Only to find out he sold him to a monster...and it's all my fault..." Zonic said quietly

"It's not your fault...You did...We did all we could...but your father was a twisted man..." Scourge sighed

"I just wish he didn't get caught up in this...I wish I said no to you when you begged me to run away with you while you took him and got as far away as you could while I married that princess for that alliance..." Zonic stated as he collapsed to his knees as he dragged Scourge with him

"We were 16...its been 12 years Zonic...no one could have stopped what was going to happen...and we couldn't go waltzing into the castle without an execution...for being out of wedlock..."

"And you think letting my father have him was a better alternative?!"

"Of course not! I don't go a day without wanting to strangle the man for all that he's done! But he's dead and we've got our one shot to get our son back...And I'll do anything to get him back...even if it means i have to go into the darkest part of our world, I'd do it for him and I'd do it for you"

the two sat there on the leaf littered ground as tears streamed down both their cheeks, no one knew who Zonic truly was and no one knew of the child they had, except the man who had raised him and traded him off in a way to become more powerful

"He won't remember us...." Zonic spoke quietly

"It doesn't matter if he does or he doesn't he was two when we last saw him...but....at least we'll have him back..." Scourge replied "Now...are we going to stay here? Or are we going to get back the one person who matters most to us?"
