007 - Apprehension
Third person pov !
—
As Hange cried out for Sunny and Beane, Law had his hood over his head as he tried to remain strong after unlocking the chained roots of his memories.
It was no wonder he had rather forgotten about all of it.
Everything from start to finish was nothing but agony and terror of losing everyone he loved.
His parents, his hometown, Corazon, his crew, both of his husbands..
At the same time, he was glad to have his memories back. Sure there may be some painful experiences as well as witnessing Luffy dying, but he had so much more happier memories with him, his crew and family more than..
Ah, then it's back to being painful again.
Law grit his teeth, frustrated to even try to block out all those irritating memories he wanted to forget. He had to keep his head up.
Right now, Sabo and Koby are here with him. He grew up with them, he treated them as his own, he liked them.
Most importantly, because they were all somehow related in a way.
Erwin had swiped his arms around Law and Eren and pulled them in, whispering something only Law knows.
"What do you two see here?.. Who do you think the enemy is?"
Eren glanced back at Erwin with a baffled look. While Law remained stoic regardless of his mentality he's trying to keep patched up.
"I have no idea who it is. But should you really be asking us that? Damned geezer.."
Law mumbled out offensively like the grumpy man he originally is, - except he had gotten further grumpier, - causing Eren to whip his head over to the older teen, horrified.
Erwin was taken back by the comment, but had smiled, genuinely taking no offense to Law's words.
"Apologies, Law. Please carry on ahead with the squad."
As soon as Erwin left, the titan shifter stomped in front of Law before they could move.
"Are you nuts!? Disrespecting Commander Erwin like that?!" Eren half-shouted as he turns to Law with an exaggerated look.
"Oh, don't think your relations with Captain can excuse it. You can't just, diss the commander out so-"
"It's fine, Eren. That's just how Law is to everyone." Gunther spoke up, defending Law but at the same time, smacking his head.
"Fucking stop that." The grumpy pirate hissed and glared at Gunther who grinned nervously as he looks at Eren, trying to prove his point.
"Let's go before the rest of the cadets sees us."
Because the reason for having the trainees being called over and gathered in a room was to check their equipments and alibis, was because of certain traitors amongst them.
-
Cadets have gathered around a field, some of them crying in fear, it was the aftermath of their encounter and battle against titans.
While the rest of the cadets had their frowns on their faces, three cadets placed in the top three were casually conversing with one another.
Jean looked over to the trio conversing normally. He was baffled to see the three acting so casual while the rest of them are struggling to gather their thoughts and remain sane.
The boy thinks they're insane, or they're just naturally mentally strong to survive after witnessing titans eating and chasing after them.
He remembers Marco, making him wince in pain. He was his first friend, aside from Koby and Connie.
It pains him to even think that nobody had found Marco's body and deemed him missing. Worse, he might be already being burned as he speaks of him inwardly.
"Hey guys.. Have you decided on which regiment to join?"
Jean stares at the rest of the cadets looking at his trembling form. "I-I'm.. Going, to join the Scout Regiment." Jean stammers fearfully as he grabs ahold of his shaking arm, trying to keep himself from breaking down in front of everyone.
But not once have Jean heard mocking laughter or teasing remarks from the top three cadets. He knew they were listening as Jean states his desire to join said regiment.
As he glanced back, anticipating judgemental looks on their faces, he instead saw none of those being plastered on their faces.
Instead, he sees reassurance in them. They stared at him with pride and confidence, heck he could even see Koby smiling fondly at him.
Their gazes were enough to tell Jean that they were proud of him.
That at least eased up a bit of fear from his mind.
After all, these strongest cadets had already planned on which regiment to choose from the start.
They were happy to have Jean aboard. And everyone else who would willingly join their favorite regiment.
.
In the end, the soldiers never found whoever used the ODM gear without permission.
At sunset Law, Sabo and Koby had gathered along with the cadets. It was almost time as the soldiers from each regiment were arriving at the ceremony.
It was not made public yet that the top three cadets were already official members of the scout regiment and that Levi had personally handpicked them into his squad.
But for the sake of trying to remain confidential about their relations with Levi and the scouts from the regiment, they had to make it seem like they would be willing to choose to be part of the scout regiment.
Everyone glanced over to them. They could see the ranked top; Law, crossing his arms as he rudely comments about Sabo's style outfit, as if he was imitating Levi.
While Sabo was trying to counter against the remarks while braiding the little locks of Koby's hair.
Oh to be as carefree as those three.
Even Armin was envious of their strong mentalities.
Once fallen in line and facing the front, Erwin alone stood atop the platform, giving his speech as he referred to inviting the cadets into joining the scout regiment without putting pressure into his words.
But at the same time, he was revealing crucial information. Armin stared at the commander unbelievably.
But knowing the commander, - said by Law from their recent meeting with the entire scout regiment, - he had already crafted some sort of plan to lure out a traitor amongst the cadets.
Once Erwin had exclaimed his speech, most of the cadets started leaving. Law and Sabo sighed, while Koby looked up to see Petra noticing his stare and smiled down at him.
The pinkette started to move.
"Koby, what are you—"
Koby grabs both Law and Sabo's hands with a smile, dragging the two out of their irritated state.
"What are you two so frustrated about? Come on, cheer up! Don't tell me you're backing out on our decision now!"
A few cadets stops walking as they turn to look at Koby smiling brightly.
His smile was enough to ease the rest of the cadet's minds, making them think more calmly if they truly wanted to leave or stay and join the scouts regiment.
To Sabo, he had witnessed this smile more than a few times even before being reverted to a child growing back up to adults.
This is his husband after all.
That's right, folks. Sabo, the 26 year old 2nd Revolutionary Commander is legally married to the Vice Admiral of the Marines; 20 year old Koby.
Yes. In a way, the trio are all related and alas, why they all felt closer to each other during their amnesiac states.
"That's right Koby! You wanted to see the sea right!? We're with you!" Sabo sobbed out as he tackled the pinkette into his arms, cradling Koby into his chest and hugged him with affection.
Erwin, despite his solemn posture and expression, could not help but smile slightly at the sight.
The trio may not have noticed it, but they have helped ease the tension around the field, and had caused more cadets to stay back with a calmer state of their minds.
Minutes after the field have cleared out, everyone the trio knew plus a few more unnamed cadets stood with confidence despite their fears as Erwin spoke up once again.
"All of you here are hereby accepted as new members of the Scout Regiment!"
Law, Sabo and Koby grinned.
"This is a genuine salute. Give your hearts!"
On cue, everyone saluted along, aside from the trio who had already been official members from the start.
"Everyone.." Armin looked around him, feeling relieved that the cadets he had made friends with were all joining the same regiment as him and Mikasa.
"Koby, you are dismissed. Head back to your squad." Erwin adds as his gaze looks over to the pinkette, who saluted confidently. "Yes sir!"
"What!? Erwin, what about—"
"Levi had personally assigned Koby to watch over Eren. You two are assigned here to assist the rest of the scouts."
Sabo gawked, Law crossed his arms, and Koby was already off as he bids everyone goodbye and mounts a horse, leaving everyone in shock as they look at the leaving scout, then back at Erwin.
"So that old geezer basically dumped us into these fresh newbies. And he has the audacity to say he doesn't have a favorite!" Sabo explodes, earning a bonk from the former pirate beside him.
"Punk, we're also basically new."
"Respect your brother-in-law!"
"I thought I heard my name. Could you repeat that?"
"Why you-!"
At least, the tension had grown lighthearted, and everyone temporarily forgot about their fears about titans as they were engrossed in the blonde's carefree antics trying to bicker with Law.
Erwin eyed the rest of the scouts before dismissing everyone and lead them to the Survey Corps headquarters.
.
It turns out, it was one of the plans never mentioned during Erwin's speech.
Law, Sabo and Koby.. Of course they were part of it as well.
The moment Law had exclaimed his rude remark towards Erwin, that day, the commander had picked up on Law's behaviour, thus asking for a meeting between the trio, Levi, Hange and the other main scouts.
Sabo had reported his suspicions during the meeting.
Three traitors. Two males, one female.
He already had found out about the first traitor, but Erwin decided that was for another time for another meeting to discuss.
It was all an act.
Sabo exploding like a brat was an act to make it less suspicious how and why Sabo and Law were personally assigned by the Humanity's Strongest Soldier to remain with the rest of the scouts.
The next day, Sabo deliberately acted as if his suspicions towards both Reiner and Bertholdt had been long forgotten.
"Welcome back you guys! How's the patrolling going?" Sabo waved and approached Koby and Eren who were both conversing normally.
The pinkette waves back, causing Eren to look back to see Mikasa and Armin staring at him with wide, relieved eyes.
"Eren!" both of his friends said in unison, and the rest of the rookies approached the two.
Jean stared at Koby, relieved to see the pinkette again for some reason, but was surprised to see his hair down without a tie for the first time.
"Koby-"
"Jean, you too..!?" Eren stared at the said rookie disbelievingly. This was Jean they were talking about. The Jean who wanted to join the Military Police Regiment to remain safe behind the walls.
"So.. It's only Annie and Marco who joined the Military Police.." Eren mumbled, fully aware the atmosphere tensed.
The titan shifter unnoticeably glanced back at Koby who had begun smiling.
It was a warning not to mention Marco being alive, intentional or not.
"Marco is missing."
It may seem simple, but the weight of the words was heavy on everyone. Everyone at least befriended Marco or liked him to say the least.
Even Koby stopped smiling. He couldn't have the heart to correct Jean that anyone missing is automatically considered dead.
'Marco is alive!' He wants to announce it to everyone, see their moods lighten up once more.
But he had to be limited with everything he would say when in front of them.
He didn't dare stare at the two with suspicion.
The plan was simple.
Make them think they're off the hook from suspicion so they could let their guards down.
—
A month later, was the day they finally leave Calaneth District to establish a route to Shiganshina District fully prepared.
Law was assigned at the left wing. Sabo was assigned at the right wing, and Koby was assigned with the special operation squad, the rear of the center rank.
The trio were separated. Sabo hesitated for a bit, but Law had to reassure him they'll be back in one group.
As Erwin had sent this signal, everyone in their designated groups scattered.
.
And so Annie is on the move.
Sabo grinned smugly as he noticed the female titan running over, leading a horde of titans over to his group.
The blonde glanced out to find his squad dead on the spot, most titans have already wiped them out, their mouths filled with struggling soldiers inside, screaming and pleading for Sabo to save them and some begged him to run.
He was on the move, taking out his blades and mindlessly killed a few titans trying to eat his comrades. By the time he had settled to the ground, they were dead, crushed in half or either had been gobbled up by the other titans.
"..." Sabo was enraged. He was so focused on his own world that he failed to protect members that are part of his group.
He didn't even notice the female titan's massive hand swinging over to swat him off as he had remounted his horse in a trance.
But her hand went through him instead, leaving a temporary trail of fire over her hand as Sabo finally snaps back to gather his thoughts and whip his head over to Annie with an angry glare filled with growing hatred, titan's blood over his cheek disappearing by steam.
Said woman in the form of titan had been baffled to realize the blonde was somehow like her, but much different, as if she, Reiner and Bertholdt were way out of their league because of this boy.
This boy was literal fire!
How even is that possible in the first place!?
She glanced back to see the horse galloping off, it's saddle devoid of the said teen she was mentioning to herself before she finds that all the titans she brought over had been wiped out exactly like the entire right wing.
She instinctively covered her nape without thinking, in time for Sabo's blades to penetrate through her fingers and slice them off.
Almost.
He was almost successful cutting her entire being off of her titan form if not for her survival instincts kicking in.
She instantly crystalizes her nape, feeling terror surging through her veins in realization;
This teen was dangerous.
It obvious enough when he was ranked third in the trainee corps.
It was obvious enough when he had seen through Bertholdt so easily when they first met as titan and human.
It was obvious enough from the start the moment he came into the picture.
And yet Annie failed to take her friends' warnings into consideration because of her pride and arrogance.
She even had the decency to act shameful. But her thoughts were cut as soon as she found herself running off, away from the blonde as soon as possible whilst her other hand covered her nape in case Sabo had decided to chase after her.
What can he do regardless? He has no horse, he cannot catch up to her-
Spoke too soon. Sabo, without mounting a horse had been running after her.
A grapple hook pierced through her, and she inwardly groaned. But she cannot stay hazed. She continued to run, she didn't even dare look back behind her. She had seen that look during training. A trait reasonably why Sabo was specifically top third.
With a confident conduction, Annie could tell she would've died on the spot with the right wing soldiers had she not got away in time.
Safe to say, he could no longer catch up as she ran faster. Annie wasn't one to admit so openly, but she was terrified of Sabo back there.
He may seem inhuman like she and the other two are, but he was more trained, more experienced, he seemed like he knew he was doing..
Whatever he is, she was going avoid that blonde at any cost.
And hope she doesn't run into the other two Sabo is close with.
Who knows? They're probably like Sabo, but further different, further stronger, further terrifying..
Because if Sabo was already ranked third, who knows what tremendous power Law and Koby holds as the top second and first trainees?
After all, they're not a trio for nothing.
.
Most of the rookies have been perched up the high trees for a while, keeping titans away from entering the giant forests.
Jean was busy glancing back and forth at the squad leader with a sour look, before his peripheral vision could tell him he was seeing a horse from the distance, galloping closer to their view.
"Horses!" An unnamed rookie hollered, but Armin interjects them: "It's just one horse- is that Sabo!?"
"I heard he was part of the right wing- he's the only one that had survived!"
Armin waved over to Sabo with a relieved smile, yet the blonde did not bat an eye over to the other blonde, leaving Armin confused over such ignorance, until he had taken note of Sabo's expression.
Focused, frustrated and determined.
He was in one of those moods where he's rather more concentrated and angry during training.
Armin had seen this look before, the time Thomas had been eaten by an abnormal. Sabo was the firsy to charge ahead of Eren, instantly killing said titan and see a glimpse of heartlessness in those darkened look.
The blonde winced physically, catching Jean's attention who was under the impression Sabo was ignoring everyone and went straight ahead into the deep forest, killing most of the titans that had went after him in an instant.
Jean would never admit how amazed he would be to watch Sabo flawlessly taking out seven titans surrounding their vicinity even with dull blades.
It was almost impossible!
Even Mikasa's dull blades would be useless immediately after a few hits over a few titans.
But he was ranked third for a reason, supposedly.
And Law was ranked top. The strongest amongst the trio.
It wouldn't surprise Jean if the top rookie would kill over ten titans without having to dull his blades.
It irritates him just comparing his weak ass over these monster-suicidal trio.
It makes him realize he needs to grow stronger and remain alive alongside these bastards if he wanted to live.
.
They were informed that the right wing fell.
Levi's heart sank at the news.
Not only his, but Koby's too.
They were told that mostly all of them were wiped up by a horde of titans that had appeared out of nowhere.
"L-Levi.." Koby stammered with disbelief in his eyes. Of course the pinkette would hardly believe that the squad would fall, let alone with Sabo around.
"Not a single word. Continue forward and do not look back!"
Levi asserted his orders to the rest of them without giving them room for questions. Not just to them, but to himself too.
Koby grit his teeth, but decided to shove his worries away and continued to push forward. He had high hopes Sabo would miraculously survive, and he was pretty sure it goes the same to Law.
Somehow, he trusted in his guts that they were alive, remotely noticing their breathing before snapping back to reality as the ground shakes within every second.
A titan, female titan ran towards their direction. Eren begged everyone to do something, help the reinforcements trying their utmost best to stop the pursuer from killing them off without batting an eye to them.
Levi began to speak, time stopping as the rookie looked at his front to see the proud back of the captain facing everyone.
"Eren. Our difference in experience is that we don't see eye to eye. But you don't need to mind that."
Koby looked at the man with guilt across his face. He had been aware of Levi's constant sorrows over his friends - one of the reasons he doesn't sleep much in the night.
"Choose: Will you trust yourself, or me, these guys and the entire Scout Regiment?"
Somewhere in the back of the man's thoughts, a painful recollection of memories regarding his first found family surfaces and he mentally winces, unnoticeable to the others than he also had gone stiff. Remembering how the right wing fell made him realize he doesn't even know if Sabo died as they carry out their mission.
His stoic facade remained resisting the urge to grit his teeth, neither deciding to turn to look at the panicked rookie listening to him.
"Though even I don't know the answer to that. I never have. Whether I trusted myself or the choices of my dependable comrades; there was no telling how things would turn out."
He doesn't know how he's got this kind of six sense, but he notices Koby's lingering eyes on him. It didn't hold pity, it didn't hold guilt - it was as if Koby understood, and his shoulders relaxed somehow.
"So just do the best you can and choose whichever you'll regret least."
Eren stared at the captain. Looking back behind him, he could see the female titan swatting off the remaining reinforcements swings around her in attempt to stop her.
He stared at his hand, almost deciding he should trust in himself. But something told him to look up, and he could see Koby glancing behind him to look back at Eren. They meet eyes, and unlike the rest of the squad, he doesn't see Koby pleading him to trust them. Albeit it was the opposite - Koby trusted in him.
And that made Eren think more clearly on what he should decide. He ignored Petra's glance or Oruo looking at him. But setting down his hand back to the handle of the horse was enough proof he decided to trust in them.
As the female titan closed in - they were able to capture the titan with multiple hooks and traps laid out for her.
Koby sighed in relief and yet they had to continue forward across the path as the boy reached out his hand to pat Eren on the back.
"Thank you, Eren!" The pinkette squealed out with a smile.
And Eren smiles back, feeling overwhelmed with joy and pride, surrounded by genuine smiles from Levi's squad mates.
Taking him back to his memories weeks ago, he was surrounded by Levi's squad members with terrified and determined looks as they threatened him not to make a move or he would die.
He was heartbroken to find out how little most of their trust in him had been because of his role as a titan soldier for humanity.
He had just tried picking up a spoon, and he had transformed his entire arm into a titan in the middle of a field whereas minutes ago he was struggling to transform into a titan despite his several attempts by inflicting self-harm over his hand.
Yet regardless of the hectic situation, Koby barely looked anything like the rest of the members. He didn't take out his blades or shoot him a terrified look.
He was with Levi, his back turned on Eren to show he was trying to protect and block him from being tackled whilst the captain ordered the others to calm down.
He even glanced back at Eren with a reassuring smile, trying to calm him down from his frantic behaviour after the incident.
The boy showed kindness and trust in him than the rest of the squad. Something where he could only sense from Armin and Mikasa.
Staring back at Koby who was ahead as he led the squad second to Levi, he could hear the aforementioned captain give out his order, before using his gear to shoot his grapple hooks straight through the thick trunks and fly off, leaving Koby in charge.
"Leave your horses with me and on my signal you'll head to that trunk and hide Eren. I'll take care of Captain's horse and by the time I'm not back during his signal, Oruo's in charge."
Everyone answered in unison as they followed the pinkette, who rode his horse and his back turned with his scout cape floating - seeing as he held authority over the squad as someone who's capable of being captain like Levi.
Eren could see why everyone liked Koby. He was fairly kind, although he acts much like a teacher's pet, he was like a little brother to everyone, yet still be firm and sway most of everyone into his commands like a leader leading his group.
And for good reasons at that.
He could barely see Koby using everyone's trust and kindness into his selfish bidding, instead sending out the others to work like a team during training and often scolding those who slacked off.
A goodhearted boy. It's one of the beautiful traits that implied why he was ranked second. His leadership was incomparable.
On his signal, everyone flew off to the trunks as planned, while Koby remained still on his saddle, urging the horses to gallop forward, preferably to lead them off to a safer distance.
Eren could feel his lips curving to a smile.
.
Eren watched in horror as the rest of the squad were being killed off by the female titan one by one.
All because he looked back.
As he witnessed Oruo, the only one remaining had been kicked off to his death, Eren couldn't think straight. His only thoughts had lingered only to one thing - kill her.
Before he could bite his hand, Koby tackled him, sending both of them flying to the ground. With Koby on top of him, he was pinned, both arms to be precise.
He hollered angrily, rage taking over his thoughts as he questioned mindlessly why Koby would stop him from transforming and fight against the female titan head on.
They were perfectly hidden behind a few tree trunks away from their pursuer, who was under the impression the sudden arrival of the pinkette had grabbed Eren and flew off instead of engaging in combat.
"Eren, calm down." Koby tried to reason with the other, who could only scream in response. The pinkette quickly pecked his forehead, causing Eren to abruptly stop in his movements.
"Good now that you're calm. Please don't do that, you trusted us remember?"
Snapping back from his daze, he glared at the younger and tried to swing his legs over to kick Koby off but to no avail.
"Why the fuck are you so calm about this!? Your- o-our squad just died! I shouldn't have trusted in you all if this was the result of, of this!"
Tears endlessly poured down Eren's cheeks. He had been getting used to their company, only to witness them die a horrific death. He felt immense anger all of a sudden as he could see a glimpse of Koby's stoic facade, devoid of any reaction or sorrow over their late squad mates.
"You.. Haven't you felt any remorse over them..?! Eld-san.. O-Ouro-san, Petra-san.. Gunther-san!!.." Eren began to take out his anger over to Koby, who had the decency to lower his head in shame.
"IF YOU HADN'T LEFT US THEY WOULD'VE LIVED! YOU FUCKING-"
"I'M SORRY!"
Eren snapped out of his trance, seeing as the boy that loomed over him had begun crying just like him. "It's my fault! I failed to protect them, I-I failed to fight along with them!"
"We've lost too many comrades.. We've lost most of the Squad Levi, I haven't heard from Law, who knows if Sabo died or not, and I can't afford to lose you too!"
Koby looked down at Eren, and the boy could see a glimpse of terror and guilt eating up the pinkette. For a split second, he could see Koby's eyes, it was so clear and beautiful, yet filled with so many burden and regret.
"All I ask of you is to just trust me, once again.. And run.. Please?"
Eren stared at Koby in disbelief, his anger dissipated and guilt quickly took over his thoughts for pointing fingers at Koby in rage who was already self-blaming over himself.
Hesitantly, Eren opened his mouth.
".. I'm sorr-"
Voices all too familiar for both of them had interjected his attempted apology. They could hear a female screaming in terror, bones cracking and both Eren and Koby glanced at one another, before the pinkette reluctantly let go of Eren so they could get up and see what was going on.
The female titan was on her knees. But that was not just it, as the steam clears out to reveal two figures standing as they cornered the titan shifter responsible for being the female titan; Annie Leonhart.
Law had his blade penetrated vertically over Annie's jaw, while Sabo had her arms twisted on her back with an odd ring grinded against his teeth with a sadistic grin as they binded Annie with a scouts' cape.
Sabo noticed them coming out of their hiding spot and smiled sadly. Said duo had witnessed Law hitting Annie's head, forcing her to succumb to darkness and Sabo stood there doing nothing but staring at the dead bodies of their squad mates.
"We were too late." Law had casually remarked, retreating his blade from the penetrated jaw and watch as Annie regenerates whilst unconscious.
Eren was to say the least, flabbergasted to see them back. "Y-You guys.." the titan shifter stammers, and he was greeted with a cheeky grin from the blonde.
.
Levi had flew past Gunther's dead body hanging. He had a slight hope his death was perhaps the last before he would meet up with the rest of the squad waiting for him.
However, the bloody sight of Petra, Eld and Oruo's dead bodies had pushed that little hope down the drain of his throat. He stared blankly, mood darkening before he was seen taking off from the scene.
He had seen death too many times. He was used to it, and had grown accustomed to it, never wanting to have his heart broken anymore as it is.
But the sudden thought of his children dying by the hands of a titan had made his stomach churn so bad he had to land onto one of the branches to take a moment to collect himself.
Koby..
That boy was in charge of the squad. Yet relief flooded across his thoughts as he notices him missing from the scene - preferably still alive if that's the case.
He knew to expect the unexpected, he always had a gut to trust in his kids they would remain safe, no matter the circumstances. Heck, maybe because he trained them and enhanced their fighting styles, their strength unparalleled to others.
And then, there they are.
Law pinching Sabo's cheek, said blonde trying to argue back to whatever their bickering was all about. Koby was on the other side, holding a restrained girl on his side with Eren constantly glaring at the girl before focusing back at the older rookies.
Sabo is alive.
He can see that, he looked well and unscathed.
Sabo is alive, he repeated mentally as relief quickly washed over his senses. He would never admit it out loud, but he was fond of these three.
They were his family, his children.
"Brats."
He called out for them, his facade remaining stoic to hide what he was truly feeling. Sometimes, he could see Law's eyes lingering on him, giving him a funny feeling the older boy could understand and see through him.
"Hi Levi! Look, we finally caught the bitch!" Sabo chirped out, flashing the older with his usual cheeky grin.
Letting out a sigh of annoyance, he looked back at Law and raised a brow. "I thought you were positioned on the other side of the forest. How the fuck did you get here?"
A shrug was his only answer, only for a few minutes before he could act speak. "ODM gear, Levi-ya. In other words; I ditched my squad to see what was going on as soon as Annie-ya sprinted into the forest."
Levi's brow rose, expecting an explanation on who the woman is, restrained using Sabo's cape next to Koby.
"She's from the 104th trainee camp, Annie Leonhart, and one of the elite graduates."
Koby, who was uncharacteristically silent throughout the conversation, disclosed the information regarding the girl they held captive.
Only then Levi noticed the lack of usual enthusiasm the pinkette had across the trio. He was silent, yet he was smiling - obviously trying to feign he was fine.
Seeing Eren place a hand on the boy's shoulders only confirmed his mental thoughts. And Levi was guilty, guilty for pushing most of his responsibilities onto Koby into leading the squad.
The boy losing his squad must've been disturbed him greatly, the loss of their squad mates burdening heavily on his shoulders for he was the one who was responsible for them.
"Stop chewing on that ring. It's gross."
Law's voice had snapped him back to his senses, turning around to see Sabo mindlessly chewing on the ring as the other had said.
"I'm confiscating her belongings,. Did you see how she tried to injure just her finger the moment she was out of her titan shell?! We would've been doomed!"
"Ack!"
"Stop being a worrywart. You took her out, that mattered. Now get going and bring her back into the walls if we don't want her waking up." Levi ordered and everyone saluted, hollering their response in unison.
