Chapter 2: It's just passion
"Well those are just rumors, Namjoon!" Jimin claimed. "He seems very family oriented... Jungkook probably has a wife and kids!"
"He looks young I don't thinks so." Namjoon claimed.
"Anyone can look young, this young man just seems very responsible like a man in the family."
"You can see the isolation in his eyes." Namjoon joked as Jimin giggled. After Jungkook was finished reading the children's book for the young ones, the kids thanked the young adult and walked off with their parents as Jungkook stood there and sighed being alone again... He had to set his chair back to the studying area. As Jungkook was setting the chair back, he overheard Jimin and Namjoon talk about him.
"He's not lonely!" Jimin claimed as Namjoon shook his head.
"He is, Jimin! He reads to children and I heard this rumor..."
"You can't prove he's lonely.. He just loves children." Jimin claimed as he looked off to the site where Jungkook was reading to the kids and realized, he wasn't there! "W-where did he go?" Jimin asked quietly as they heard a chair move along the wooden floor in the studying area behind them.
Jungkook was staring right at the two and stepped up walking to the front desk. "Those are just rumors, thankyou very much. I love to read to the children and help them learn." Jungkook claimed.
"I see," Namjoon claimed. The man had his doubts and theories but kept them to himself. "How old are you, Jungkook?"
"Twenty." Jungkook responded walking off to a nearby history book case to read.
"Twenty? Oh, Jungkook I'm sorry for claiming you had a family at a young age and forgive my friend Namjoon for claiming you are a lonely person.." Jimin apologized feeling very bad for labeling Jungkook like that.
"No, it's fine... I get that alot.." Jungkook claimed pulling out his glasses as he pulled out a book and began to check it out.
"So, Jungkook what got you into reading for the kids?" Namjoon asked curiously.
"Just... Passion..." Jungkook claimed. "The rest I do it for something..." Jungkook replied.
"Do you stay here everyday until the next story time you have scheduled?" Jimin wondered.
"Yes... It's the highlight of my day." Jungkook finally made a smile like he did when he was reading to the kids.
"You are such a kind man, Jungkook. No one else would read to the kids but you.. You are one of a kind." Jimin complimented as Namjoon nudged Jimin and walked away with a smirk. Jimin was now left with the mysterious storyteller.
"Do you have any children?" Jungkook asked looking at Jimin.
Jimin began to laugh. "No, I don't even have a lover!" Jimin giggled.
"Planning to have?" Jungkook asked again as he closed the book and walked up to where Jimin was.
"Well, maybe but not now... I mean, I think I have a long way to go before all of that!" Jimin smiled. "That's parenthood... A place I'm not ready to travel in..." Jimin claimed.
"I understand... It's better to do that when you're actually ready..." Jungkook claimed as he still held the book in his hands taking a moment to think about what he just said. Jimin wondered what the man was thinking... what secrets he held and how he seen the world through his dark brown eyes. "I never got your name before..."
Jimin then realized it too. "Oh! My name is Park Jimin." Jimin claimed.
Jungkook stared at the young adults pink cotton candy hair. "I love your hair..." Jungkook complimented. "Looks nice! I don't usually dye my hair since this color matches me the most... But pink does suit you!"
"I receive compliments that almost all colors match me." Jimin added. "Do you want me to scan your book?"
"Oh, no that's fine..I was going to stay here and read this.. After this quick story I'll head to work.." Jungkook claimed.
"What's your profession?"
Jungkook smiled and took off his glasses, "I'm actually a preschool teacher."
"Ohh! I see. That's very good, do you see some of your young students here at times?" Jimin questioned.
"Well yes, some parents of the children find me here and allow their child to join story time." Jungkook smiled happily. "I guess you can say I enjoy being around people!"
"Hmm very social. That's well. I work as an assistant in a clothing brand company.. Youth."
"That's a very good job you got there, what about this one?"
"I just work everyday so I wouldn't have to come home. I'd like to come home and sleep and cook at times so I'm barely home.
"You have a full plate, Park Jimin." Jungkook said. "Very responsible."
Jimin felt proud to actually meet the kind man that read to the children everytime. He found out Jungkook was very social and loved being around others. Jungkook actually seemed like a nice guy who loved to teach young children. Jimin made a new friend and had no regrets talking to him whatsoever.
Jungkook would always read to the children and would remain at the library not wanting to go home. Jimin never asked why he was never home but he believed maybe Jungkook had issues and didn't want to have the younger feel disrespected.. So yes, Jimin kept his questions like Namjoon. But the same question Namjoon and Jimin held in their minds was, what was that 'something' that motivated Jungkook to grow so fond of children like they were his own? Jungkook made it obvious there was a something.. But never cared to explain it..
