One: Scarlet eyes
"So, I guess you have experience on having part time jobs like this, right?" Jungkook attentively nods his head. His eyes scans the fairly sized convenience store, it was cold and clean-- something he can surely get over with.
"Your shift can start as early as now." The manager turns to him by the time they have arrived at the counter. "Be responsible, I wouldn't want to fire anyone especially humans. They are so far the most reliable creature here other than hybrids."
Jungkook bows at him in respect, "You can trust me! I will do my best on working, thank you so much for hiring me." Standing behind the counter, he hurriedly strokes his bangs- just so it wouldn't look messy, he was too lazy to gel up and fix his hair anyways.
"Also, there are blood bags by the beverage container behind you." The manager points at the clear glass of the small cold fridge. "They are supposed to be bought by packs since they're almost expired and we have a lot of new and fresh stock so don't sell only one to each customers. Do mind the bag sizes they wish to have." Jungkook's mouth forms a cute 'o' shape, nodding his head along as he mentally noted what the male had told him.
"Then I guess we are done here. Good luck, and if you still don't know something about this store, just get a grip on the handbook at the back office." The male, which was a werewolf breed and was also his manager-- gave him a pat of motivation on the shoulder before leaving the store to him.
"Good luck to me, then." He repeats in a low voice, leaning back to which made is back lean against the small fridge- giving him the relaxing comfort he needed.
Jungkook stared idly into the empty aisles, waiting for any customer. He tried to reach out for his phone that was supposed to be in his pocket, until to remember he left it at his Starbucks locker from his last shift. The male sighed and slammed his forehead on the cashier, groaning as he did so.
'Great. Just great. What am I going to do while waiting?' Just when he was about to shut his eyes- the bell rang as the door was slammed open, creating a loud noise and indicating that a customer had arrived. Jungkook groaned mentally and rubbed the red spot on his forehead before standing up straight.
"Welcome," He gave the person his sweet but forced smile, bowing a little as he waited to give assistance or service. 'A couple more hours to go until my shift will come to an end. Then, I'll get my phone.'
Jungkook bit his lip, anxious when he finally saw who came inside- a group of teenage werewolves enters the store. Sure, he was already a senior when it comes to education and he was probably older than them-- but what can a human do in a fight with powerful wolves?
"Hey!" One of the teens approaches him. "Do you have any condoms?" The human raises an eyebrow at this-- with the other wolves laughing and going over to some stalls to choose what they would be buying.
"I'm sorry, but we do not sell condoms to teens." Jungkook tries to reply with a calm voice- as he could see that what he had said made the teen upset.
"What a loser." The wolf teen grumbled. "Excuse me?" Jungkook raises an eyebrow, sure they were scary but they had no rights to insult him. He still has pride after all, and a huge one at that.
"Whatever. Let's go boys!" He dodges the human's sarcastic remark, with his group fleeing off to the entrance.
Jungkook would have let them be, until he had noticed the bags of chips and beer bottles peeking at one of their backpacks.
'If you're going to steal at least don't make it obvious you did it! Idiots!' Jungkook rolled his eyes before calling them out.
"Hey! What do you think you wet pups are doing?!" The group gasps, knowing they have blown off their covers. "Come back!! Pay for that!" Jungkook leaves his station, trying to chase the group who were way stronger and faster than he was. The group transformed into wolves with backpacks on their mouths and left Jungkook in the dust.
'Great. A loss that I should be paying.' Jungkook stops running, gasping for air as he used all of his stamina, arms resting to his legs. Sweat drips down his head, his hair mixing to the liquid which made it sticky and damp.
Hopeless, Jungkook decides to go back to the convenience store- afraid that someone might steal upon his absence. It was the first day to his job, yet it was already a stressful day.
'Hopefully I wouldn't get fired. I can barely afford my living expenses by working on Starbucks alone.' Jungkook sighed.
Finding the store empty, he decided to wash his face- not wanting to look haggard in front of future customers. When he finally finished washing up, he hears the bell ring lightly, quickly grabbing the face towel he had been using and dashed back to the counter while wiping his face.
"Welcome," His greeting was a little muffled, before pulling the towel away from his face.
There stood a silver haired male, a dazed smile on his face showing his fangs; A vampire. "Greetings, too. Blood bag please. Medium." His voice was deep and husky- though his petite feature made Jungkook question his whole being.
"Alright, I am sorry for the inconvenience though." Jungkook kindly says, referring about washing his face in the middle of his shift. He then opens the fridge behind him, letting the cool air slap his face.
"It's not a bother. Don't worry." The vampire assures, still smiling as he watched the male get three bags from the fridge. "Oh no, just one please."
"We're not allowed to sell one sir, it comes by packs." Jungkook explains, though the creature chose to be stubborn. "I am not that thirsty, so please let me have one."
Well, he had tried to be kind- but this wasn't Jungkook's call. "But sir, that is what my manager told me here, I have to follow the rules." Holding the bags on his hand, he notices how the vampire stared at his veiny arms before biting his lower lip- fangs lightly digging on the plump flesh.
"You're new here, aren't ya?" He leans to the counter, eyes now focused to his own to which made him feel extra tense.
Was the vampire gonna devour him instead?
"Uhm," Unsettled by the sudden question, Jungkook decided it was better not to spill his information to strangers- or maybe just to vampires.
The silver haired male chuckles, before grabbing his wallet and handing him money. "I'll buy three then. But I would like to dine in, so please put the other two in the fridge for awhile." He winks, before stretching out his hand to take one of the blood bags Jungkook was holding.
"Okay sir," Jungkok clears his throat, finally moving and handing him one bag of blood- with their hands brushing against each other. The vampire grins, taking a straw by the side before walking off to the vacant stool by the window are of the store-- where he could see Jungkook pretty well.
Jungkook shifts uncomfortably, returning the two blood bags to the fridge. He could feel eyes trained on him and as every second pass by, he felt more and more disturbed.
To help with his boredom and to distress himself, he took a forgotten receipt on the counter and looked for a pen which he found in one of the small drawers. He doodled random animals then he drew an eye. When he finished, Jungkook found the eye he drew beautiful. He doesn't remember anyone who had those same eyes. Its merely out of his imagination- or so he thought.
"You're quite good at drawing."
Jungkook flinched and threw a glare at whomever surprised him. The vampire was a bit taken aback before licking his bloody fangs
.
"Feisty one, aren't ya? I was just trying to compliment you, no need to be hasty-ha! That rhymed didn't it?" The vampire giggled, making Jungkook's gaze softened and blush in embarrassment.
"Sorry." Jungkook mumbled while the vampire just stared at him as he took a sip from his blood bag.
"It's fine," The vampire sat down on the counter. "By the way, kudos for managing to draw my eye without looking at me the whole time."
Jungkook perked up and looked at his drawing before finally looking into the vampire's silver eyes that turned into crimson red. He was about to say something but the vampire beat him to it.
"Oppsies! Seems like I'm more thirsty than I thought! Hand me another blood bag please." The vampire smiled. Jungkook immediately took one blood bag and gave it to the latter.
The vampire accepted it and transferred the straw from the now empty blood bag to the new one. The vampire then threw the empty bag before sipping on the new one. Almost immediately, the vampire's crimson eyes returned to beautiful grey.
Jungkook just stared at the vampire as the latter sat back down on the stool. The vampire was also staring at him with a smirk as he drank.
The sound of the bell ringing lightly cut off their staring contest.
Jungkook attends to the customers that started to increase, not noticing he was being stared at the whole time.
