How they meet

Liling meets Sage when she was being chased by a demon and she ended up running into them where they saved her, and Tripitaka offered her to go with them when he learned she had nowhere to go due to her village and father were killed by the demon that was chasing her. Wukong was against it at first, but he eventually accepted it when he learned she was useful to the group thanks to her healing abilities. The rest is history.
