The UA Dream
A/N: Izuku's POINT OF VIEW!!!
Also for some reasons... I started enjoying doing the names bold in this chapter... don't ask... I am tired... it kinda makes me focus on who is speaking before taking the wrong one...... this will be on and off probably XD Sorry for that if it bothers anyone!!!!
I casually leaned back in my oversized leather chair, sipping a ridiculously expensive soda that cost more than most people's rent. Life was good, in a cushy, sort-of-lonely way. I mean, when your dad's the most feared villain in Japan, making friends can be a bit tricky. But who needs friends when you can buy the latest gaming console before it even hits the shelves, right?
All for One: This sounds dangerous already.
Dad's voice echoed through our high-tech mansion, the kind of place where every room has a view of the Tokyo skyline, even the bathroom. Not that I'm bragging or anything. Okay, maybe a little.
Me: Relax, it's nothing crazy. I just want to go to UA.
There was silence. And not the "I'm about to say something nice" kind. More like the "I'm trying to figure out how to say no without scaring you" kind. Dad's really good at that, scaring people, I mean. But I'm his son, so I get the deluxe package: extra silence, extra patience, extra everything...especially extra crap and extra training... the hard type.
All for One: UA? As in the UA? Where they train heroes?
He didn't have to say it like that. I knew what he was thinking. Heroes. The same people who spend their time ruining Dad's carefully laid plans. The same people led by him. All Might. Dad's number one annoyance, right after people who don't return their shopping carts.
Me: Yep, that's the one! I think it would be fun. I mean, they have cool uniforms, and their cafeteria food is supposed to be top-notch.
All for One: Son, you realize you're...quirkless, right? UA is for people with powers, people who can do things that no one else can.
Me: Exactly! I'll stand out! They won't see it coming when the quirkless kid starts acing everything. Plus, you know how much I love a good challenge.
He sighed. This was one of those times where being the son of the most notorious villain in the world was more annoying than anything. Like when I tried to get a normal job as a barista, and they ended up giving me the entire coffee shop because "it's better to stay on your father's good side."
All for One: Izuku, it's not that simple. Heroes... All Might, especially... they don't play by the same rules. They fight, they struggle, they push themselves to the limit. You'll be putting yourself in danger.
Me: But I'll be happy. Isn't that what you always say you want for me? To be happy? And trust me, I'm a fast learner. I've hacked into places that would give you nightmares. Literally, because I hacked into your nightmare generator last year for fun who is also opperating based on an unconscious peson..... cool machine by the way....
All for One: That explains the clowns. But this is different, son. All Might will be there.
He said that name like it left a bad taste in his mouth. Which it probably did, because Dad was very particular about his food, and All Might wasn't exactly on the menu. But I was serious about this. UA was the best, and I wanted to be the best too. Not the best villain, though. That wasn't really my thing. Too much stress, too many costumes. Plus, heroes had all the fun, and they didn't have to worry about getting their capes caught in evil lairs and getting behind bars and enjoy good food..
Me: Look, Dad, I get it. You hate All Might, and you've got this whole... rivalry thing going on. But I don't want to be a villain. I want to help people, to be someone they look up to. And I want to do it my way.
There was another long pause. Dad's probably the only person who can make silence feel like an entire conversation. But I knew he was thinking, weighing his options, probably even calculating how many henchmen he'd need to secretly protect me if I went to UA.
All for One: It's going to be difficult. People will underestimate you, they'll look down on you because you don't have a quirk. And if they find out who you are...
Me: I'll manage. I've got brains, a bit of charm, and a limitless supply of money. I'll be fine. And hey, if anyone messes with me, I'll just buy their favorite thing and cancel it. Permanently.
I was joking, sort of. .... kinda... isch.....
But I could tell Dad wasn't thrilled. He's always had big plans for me, and none of them involved me wearing a UA uniform. But deep down, I knew he wanted me to be happy. Even if that meant letting me walk straight into the lion's den—or in this case, a school full of future heroes.
All for One: Fine. But if you go, you'll have to promise me something.
Me: Name it.
All for One: If things get too dangerous, you'll come back. No arguments, no hacking your way out of it. Just come back.
I grinned, knowing I'd won this round. And okay, maybe I'd made it sound easier than it would be, but that was half the fun. UA, here I come. Ready or not.
Me: Deal. And Dad?
All for One: Yes, son?
Me: Thanks. For, you know, not locking me in a room and throwing away the key.
All for One: Don't thank me yet. You haven't seen the tuition fees.
I laughed, knowing full well that with one keystroke, I could probably buy the entire school if I wanted to. But that wasn't the point. For once, I wanted to earn something without a shortcut, without hacking, without Dad's influence. UA was going to be my fresh start, my chance to prove that even a quirkless kid from a villain's household could be a hero.
Me: Don't worry, Dad. I've got this.
As I walked out of the room, I could feel his gaze on my back, a mix of pride and concern. And maybe a little bit of curiosity, too. Because if there's one thing All for One loves, it's a challenge. And I was about to give him the biggest one yet.
