The Boring Morning

The next day at UA, I sat at my desk, head propped on my hand, staring blankly out the window. The sunlight filtered through the glass, casting a warm glow over the classroom, but I was too exhausted to appreciate it. After last night's drama with Dad and the whole Shigaraki situation, all I wanted was some peace and quiet. Unfortunately, homeroom with Aizawa wasn't exactly a thrilling start to the day.

Aizawa: ...and tomorrow, we'll be visiting the USJ for a special training exercise.

His voice droned on like a monotonous buzz, barely registering in my mind as I stifled a yawn.

Why is everything so boring?

The excitement of throwing punches at Bakugo and buying off Nezu had worn off, leaving me to the dullness of school life.

I could feel eyes on me. Slowly, the realization hit that the entire class had gone silent. I blinked a few times, trying to shake off the drowsiness, before finally turning my attention back to the room. Everyone was staring at me, their expressions ranging from expectant to confused.

Me: What? Why are you all looking at me like that?

Aizawa sighed, as if he couldn't believe he had to repeat himself.

Aizawa: We're visiting the USJ tomorrow, Midoriya. I announced it already.

I blinked again, still not getting the point. The class was staring at me like I was supposed to have some profound reaction. But honestly, it was just another day, and I was too tired to care.

Me: Okay... and? What's the big deal?

The silence dragged on for another awkward moment before Uraraka, bless her, finally spoke up.

Uraraka: Well, um, since you designed the USJ building and your company built it, we thought you might, you know, have some special insight or something?

I stared at her for a moment, processing what she said. Then it hit me.

Oh, they think I'm supposed to know what's going on  right now in there with heroes and stuff just because it's my design?

I couldn't help it; a smirk tugged at my lips as I leaned back in my chair.

Me: Just because I designed the building doesn't mean I know every detail about what you're going to do there. I'm not your tour guide.

A few of them chuckled awkwardly, while others just looked more confused. It was clear they were expecting some grand revelation or secret, but I wasn't about to give them one.

Kaminari leaned over, trying to join in the conversation.

Kaminari: So... you don't know if Thirteen is coming or anything?

I raised an eyebrow at that, glancing around the room. A few of them were actually looking at the door, as if expecting Thirteen to walk in any second and then come bowing before me once again. She does that whenever she seems me.... which is a nice feeling but also too much too.

Me: How should I know? I don't have a guest list. You're acting like I have all the answers just because my name's on the blueprints. Newsflash: I'm as clueless as the rest of you when it comes to tomorrow's schedule.

Mina, ever the energetic one, chimed in with a grin.

Mina: But it's your building! Doesn't that make you, like, super important or something?

I rolled my eyes, finally letting out a small laugh.

These guys...

Me: Look, just because I had the money and brains to design it doesn't mean I know what's going on every second of the day there. Trust me, if I knew something, I'd be the first to let you know. But right now? I'm just as in the dark as you are.

A few of them laughed, though it was clear they were still holding onto some expectations. I shook my head, deciding to cut them some slack.

Me: But hey, if Thirteen shows up, I'll be just as surprised as you. And if you're looking for any secret passages or hidden rooms, don't bother asking. Even I don't remember half of what I put in that place.

The class erupted in a mix of laughter and groans, but the tension in the room finally eased. They stopped staring at me like I was supposed to deliver some grand announcement, and Aizawa resumed the lesson.

These guys... they really think I'm some kind of superhero just because I threw some money at a building project.

And what's with ther attitude...

When did we all get this friendly together?

Did I sleep through something?

I am not here for friends.

As I settled back into my seat, I couldn't help but smirk. The idea that they thought I was the key to their big day at the USJ was hilarious. Little did they know, tomorrow was just another day to me, no different from any other.

Still, maybe it wouldn't hurt to keep them on their toes. After all, what's the point of being the smartest and richest in the room if you don't keep people guessing?
