Kids... JUST KIDS

As the luxury bus cruised down the road, I leaned back in my plush leather seat, glancing around at my classmates. The interior was everything I expected—polished, pristine, and outfitted with the best amenities money could buy. It was a stark contrast to the dingy old school bus that everyone had originally been assigned.

The others, meanwhile, were acting like kids in a candy store.

Kirishima was practically bouncing in his seat, his eyes wide as he admired the ambient lighting and the spaciousness of the bus.

Kirishima: Dude, this is so manly! I've never been in anything this nice before!

Sero was fiddling with the individual air conditioning controls, grinning from ear to ear as he adjusted the temperature to his liking.

Sero: This is amazing! Midoriya, how do you even find stuff like this?

I just shrugged, feigning indifference.

Me: It's not hard when you know where to look —and when you've got the means to get what you want and besides this bus belongs to me.

Mina leaned over the back of her seat, staring at the mini-fridge stocked with cold drinks.

Mina: This is insane! I didn't even know buses like this existed. It's like a moving five-star hotel!

The rest of the class was similarly awed, some taking selfies, others just relaxing in the oversized seats with contented sighs. They were all so easily impressed, so easily satisfied. I watched them with a hint of amusement, their childish glee reminding me just how different I was from them.

Look at them, acting like they've stepped into another world.

It's just a bus.

But I suppose when you've never had anything like this before, it must feel like a big deal.

I tapped my fingers on the armrest, half-listening as I heard Iida trying to make sense of the situation.

Iida: I must admit, Midoriya, this is highly unorthodox. But I can't deny that it's... an impressive display.

He was trying to maintain his usual serious demeanor, but even he couldn't hide his amazement.

Iida: Still, I wonder if it's really necessary to go to such lengths. After all, the school bus would have sufficed.

I smirked, glancing at him.

Me: Necessary? Maybe not. But why settle for 'sufficient' when you can have the best? Besides, I figured you all could use a taste of what life could be like if you didn't limit yourselves to the bare minimum.

Jiro rolled her eyes from a few seats away, though even she seemed to be enjoying the ride despite herself.

Jiro: "ou're such a show-off, Midoriya. But... I gotta admit, this is pretty cool.

Me: It's not about showing off, Jiro. It's about enjoying the finer things in life. If you've got the means, why not use them?

Even Bakugo, who usually couldn't stand being around me for more than a few minutes, was uncharacteristically silent, glaring out the window as if trying not to acknowledge the luxury around him.

Not that I blame him.

It must sting, knowing a 'quirkless nobody' like me can do all this without breaking a sweat.

As the others continued to chat excitedly about the unexpected upgrade, I found myself tuning them out, lost in my own thoughts. They could have their fun—let them marvel at what was, to me, simply normal. After all, it was just a bus ride.

But for them, this was something special, a glimpse into a world they rarely got to see. It was almost amusing how easily they were impressed. They thought they were getting a taste of luxury, but in reality, this was just the tip of the iceberg.

Money may not be able to buy everything, but it sure as hell makes the ride more comfortable. And right now, it was enough to keep the rest of the class in awe, as if they'd been transported to another planet.

The more they talked, the more I realized how little they truly understood about the world of wealth and power. But that was fine. They didn't need to understand. As long as they were content to ride along, I could let them enjoy the perks of being associated with me.

It was a small price to pay for keeping them in line.
