The Next Challenge

A/N: I swear... sometimes I forget that I have drafts and not scheduled things.... sorry for the wait.... I threw everything out at once.

The crowd barely had time to settle before Mic's voice boomed across the stadium once again.

"Alright, folks! The excitement's just getting started! Are you ready for the next event?!"

The audience roared in response, their energy shaking the very foundations of the arena. Midnight stepped forward, her whip snapping for dramatic effect.

"For our next round, it's time for teamwork and tactics! Welcome to the Team Relay Battle!"

The giant screens around the arena lit up, displaying the event details. Each team would consist of four members, combining their skills to navigate a series of challenges that demanded both strength and strategy.

"Teams will face a grueling course filled with traps, puzzles, and head-to-head encounters," Mic explained. "Only the best will make it through to the next stage!"

As the announcement sank in, I smirked to myself. A team event was perfect—not because I needed anyone's help, but because it gave me the opportunity to showcase just how much better my chosen allies were.

The competitors began clustering together, forming teams with their closest allies. The heroes predictably stuck together, while the villains did the same.

I, however, had my own plans.

Striding across the field, I approached the villain group. Toga tilted her head curiously, her grin widening as I approached. "You picking me, boss?"

"Not this time," I replied, glancing at the group. "Shigaraki, you're with me."

He raised a brow, his lips curling into a faint smirk. "Interesting. What's the plan?"

"You'll see," I said cryptically, turning my attention to the rest of the crowd.

Next, I made my way to the support course section. Mei Hatsume was busy fiddling with one of her latest gadgets, oblivious to the chaos around her.

"Hatsume," I called, catching her attention.

She looked up, her goggles magnifying her eyes comically. "Oh, it's you, Moneybags! What do you need? Another invention? A custom battle suit?"

"Neither. You're on my team," I said.

She blinked in surprise before a grin spread across her face. "Oho! You've got yourself a deal! Just wait—you won't regret this!"

With Hatsume onboard, there was one more person I needed. Turning toward the hero course, I scanned the crowd until I found him: Tokoyami.

The bird-headed hero-in-training was standing off to the side, his arms crossed as he observed the chaos.

"Tokoyami," I called, walking up to him. "Join my team."

He tilted his head, his dark feathers ruffling slightly. "An intriguing proposition. What's your angle?"

"My angle is winning," I said simply. "You in or not?"

He studied me for a moment before nodding. "Very well. I shall lend you my power."

With my team assembled, I brought them together for a quick strategy session.

"Alright, here's the deal," I began, my tone firm and commanding. "This isn't just about getting through the course—it's about dominating it. We're not here to participate; we're here to prove we're the best."

Shigaraki smirked, his posture relaxed but his eyes sharp. "So, what's the plan?"

"Hatsume," I said, turning to the inventor. "Your job is to provide us with any tech we might need. You're our wildcard—use that brain of yours to outthink the course designers."

Her grin widened. "Oh, I like the sound of this."

"Tokoyami," I continued, meeting his gaze. "Your quirk is versatile. You'll be our frontline defense and offense. Dark Shadow is a force to be reckoned with, and I expect you to use it to its full potential."

He nodded solemnly. "Understood."

"Shigaraki," I said, turning to my longest ally. "You're our ace. Use your quirk sparingly but strategically. We'll need you to clear obstacles no one else can handle."

He chuckled, flexing his fingers. "Got it."

"And me?" Hatsume asked, her goggles glinting.

"I'll handle strategy and coordination," I said confidently. "Trust me, I've got this."

The announcement to assemble at the starting line cut our discussion short.

"Alright, folks! Let's see what these teams are made of!" Mic's voice rang out. "Who will rise to the top, and who will crash and burn?"

As we lined up with the other teams, Midnight stepped forward to explain the first leg of the course.

"The Team Relay Battle consists of four sections, each one tailored to test a specific skill set. First up: the Gauntlet Zone! A high-speed obstacle course filled with traps and moving platforms!"

The crowd erupted in cheers as the countdown began.

"Three... two... one... GO!"

The starting horn blared, and we were off.

The Gauntlet Zone was exactly as advertised: a chaotic mess of spinning platforms, swinging pendulums, and timed traps.

"Stick to the plan!" I shouted, taking the lead.

Hatsume immediately activated a pair of boots she had slipped on before the start. They hummed with energy, propelling her forward at incredible speed. She zigzagged through the traps with ease, calling out observations as she went.

"Watch out for the second pendulum—it swings twice as fast as the others!" she yelled.

Tokoyami followed close behind, Dark Shadow shielding him from flying debris and pushing platforms out of his way.

Shigaraki brought up the rear, his movements calculated as he used his quirk to disintegrate obstacles that couldn't be avoided.

Meanwhile, I stayed in the center of the group, directing everyone and analyzing the course ahead.

"Tokoyami, take the left path—it's more stable. Hatsume, keep scouting ahead. Shigaraki, save your quirk for the final section," I instructed.

The teamwork paid off. While other teams struggled to coordinate, we moved like a well-oiled machine, each member playing their part perfectly.

As we reached the end of the Gauntlet Zone, Midnight's voice echoed through the arena.

"Team Midoriya is the first to clear the first section! Let's see if they can keep up the momentum!"

I smirked, glancing back at my team. "Not bad. Let's keep it up."

The next section loomed ahead: a massive maze filled with shifting walls and hidden traps.

"Alright," I said, cracking my knuckles. "Time to show them what we're made of."
