COLOGNE
"Yo, you're lucky to even be in my lane. In case you forgot, I'm the one that figured out how to let us build rocket engines and get paid," Twinkie says as he motions around to everything before motioning to himself. "This whole thing was my idea."
"So who are you gonna trust with your brilliant idea, this glorified mechanic... or a rocket scientist?" Earl asks as he glances over at Sean, who raises his eyebrow while Earl motions to himself. Earl then turns to glare at Sean. "Without me, you'd be working at Jiffy Lube."
"Guys, guys," Twinkie quickly responds to keep them from fighting while Tej and Roman walk over to them. "Look, it's all good. Who cares about who did what?"
"Kind of hard for you to do anything when you pee your pants every time you fly, Twinkie," Earl taunts as he turns back to Twinkie.
"Did I hear that right?" Tej asks as Twinkie goes to respond but quickly stops as they take notice of Tej and Roman. "You a runner and you afraid of flying?"
"Twinkie?" Roman asks as he looks at Twinkie before looking at Earl and Sean. "So you must be Ding Dong and Snoball. Right?"
"Yo, uh... I don't go by that name anymore," Twinkie is quick to correct him, while Sean and Earl look at Tej and Roman confused.
"You went by that name ever?" Tej asks with a concerned look.
"Like, ever?" Roman adds as Twinkie shakes his head while trying to form a sentence. A radio goes off before Earl starts typing on a computer.
"Hey! We're up," Earl tells them which causes Sean and Twinkie to spring into action.
"Hey, fellas," Sean says as he gets Tej's and Roman's attention with a smirk. "Y'all seen ten-second cars? Well, say hello to the two-second car." Sean uncovers the car that he had been welding on.
"Is that a Pontiac Fiero strapped to a rocket engine?" Tej asks as he looks at the car in confusion while Sean nods his head as he puts on a control box.
"Impressive, I know," Earl responds with a proud smirk.
"No. No, that's not impressive," Tej replies with a shake of his head while looking at the car concerned.
"Eyes up! Here it comes! Let the race begin!" Twinkie says over a walkie from the hill he had ran up. Sean starts the car from the control box before driving it over to the road. Sean makes the car do a burnout. "Plane's taking off! Go, go, go, go!"
Sean makes the car take off before adding the boost from the rocket, causing the car to almost keep up with the jet plane that was taking off.
"Yes! We did it!" Earl cheers as Sean hollers and Twinkie runs over to them. Tej and Roman look at each other confused while the three friends continue to celebrate.
"Uh... I'm confused," Roman says which causes them to turn to look at him. "Y'all didn't actually beat the jet."
"It didn't explode," Twinkie responds as he points at Roman.
"Yeah, or melt. She's still in one piece," Sean adds with a proud smile as he motions to the car as it explodes.
"You mean pieces?" Roman asks as they watch the debris from the car fall.
"Hey, Jiffy Lube, next time, will you listen to me?" Earl asks as he looks over at Sean in defeat.
"Look, we heard y'all could get us some wheels. Preferably the kind that don't explode," Tej explains which causes Earl and Sean to look back at him. "Is that possible?"
"Well, the Honda dealership's about 3,000 miles that way," Sean replies as he points behind himself.
"Dominic Toretto sent us," Tej says to see if that will help.
Sean looks confused as he slightly recognizes the name while turning to Twinkie to see if he knows.
"Who's Dominic Toretto?" Earl asks confused while Sean and Twinkie try to place the name.
"Roman and Tej were able to get us some cars," Bree says as she walks over to Letty, who is ordering their food. "It may have taken a little convincing since Dom apparently did not leave as big of an impression on his contact as he thought he had."
"Yeah, we are all more of rumors now in the racing scene since we all settled down," Letty admits with a sigh as she looks down before their food is set in front of them.
"At least we have the memories," Bree responds as she squeezes Letty's arm before they grab the food, walking over to Mia.
"This place is a dead end," Letty says as she sets a bowl of food in front of Mia and Bree sits beside her.
"Do you think Jakob could be onto the Han connection?" Mia asks as Letty sits down across from them.
"If he has all the information we do, probably," Bree answers her with a shrug because Jakob was not dumb by no means, causing Mia to lightly shake her head.
"I never told Dom..." Mia admits as she looks up at Letty and Bree. "I stayed in touch with him for a while after what happened." Bree raises her eyebrows in question as she eats. "He was over at Buddy's for about a year before I gave him Bree's letter, and then... he was gone with a message not to follow. But after he disappeared, I was so desperate to find him that I would've... would've done anything." Mia starts to pick at her food. "I even broke into a police archive, but I didn't find anything."
"You what?" Letty asks her in shock at the revelation. "You were like 16."
"I did what I had to do," Mia responds with a nod of her head.
"Yeah," Bree states in understanding as she looks at her beer bottle, knowing that her choice of leaving everyone was what she felt she had to do at the time.
"How about you? How are you doing?" Mia questions after she takes in Letty's spaced out look. "It's a change of pace, huh?"
"Just as I was remembering..." Letty starts explaining after letting out a small laugh. "Who I was, everything changed. It slowed down." Mia takes a bite of her food as she remembers what it was like when she and Brian first settled down. "There's peace for me in the chaos. It's like I... I need to face the world head-on or something to feel alive." Letty looks from Bree to over at Mia. "Seeing Little Brian hiding in a hole because we had unexpected company... that got to me. We never used to hide."
"Hey, Dom's my brother, but you two will always be my sisters," Mia tells her with a caring smile.
"Funny how we all have secrets," Bree replies with a small smile while glancing around before something catches her eye.
"What?" Mia asks as she notices Bree focused on something behind her.
"You got to be kidding me," Letty says as she sees what Bree is looking at before she pulls the postcard out of her jacket.
"What is it?" Mia repeats as she looks at each sister confused while Letty slides the postcard over to her.
"Remember what Han used to say about Tokyo?" Letty asks as she follows Bree before Mia follows them.
"You mean how in all the old Westerns, cowboys would make a run for the border to get away from the law, how Tokyo was his..." Mia answers as she looks at the postcard in confusion.
"Mexico," Bree finishes for her while pointing up to a Mexican flag that is in the window of an apartment.
"No way," Mia says with a wide smile as she looks up at the flag. None of them noticing that they were being watched.
