Jin got up from his seat, making me jolt.

"What are you going to do?"

He paused, looking at me. "Is there anything you want me to do? If so, I'll do it and then disappear."

Anything I wanted? Was there anything I wanted?

He was going to disappear forever... If he was going to slip away out of my sight, what would I regret?

I bit my lips in frustration. "Jin, you..."

His question put me on the spot and I realized how I so easily accepted that he wanted to disappear.

"You're such an idiot!" I yelled at him, but he was not fazed in the slightest. Instead, he smiled.

"I'm aware."

"Do you think I'd be happy to hear that you want to disappear? If you want to end it all so badly why aren't you trying to be reborn?!"

His smile fell. "There's no way for me to be reborn."

I refused to give into his words. "The former Virtue of Diligence was reborn after saving a human, what if you do the same?"

A smirk tugged his lips. "Do you think it'll work the same for a Deadly Sin? Be real."

"You won't know unless you try!"

He sighed, looking away from my pleading eyes. "To put it simply, I don't want to be reborn... But if that's what you want, I can try."

He would only try because it was what I wanted? His reasoning squeezed my chest and I did not know how else I could convince him.

He scanned our surroundings and held my hand when I noticed other people were staring at us and whispering among each other. He teleported us to the seaside and I chuckled sadly at how often we came here.

His eyes found mine again. "But don't you want me to do anything for yourself?"

He was not joking nor was he going to change his mind. Unspoken pain swirled in the depth of his eyes and the weight of his words made my heart sink.

"Then..." I took in a shaky breath, squeezing his hands.

He was not going to listen to me. My words had no power. He could be gone forever.

"I want you to kiss me," I blurted with no thought and it shocked both of us.

"I don't want to risk your life," he whispered before I could take my words back. His hand came up to my face and caressed my hair, fingers brushing against my cheek. "I mean, you can't possibly love a sinner like me. In case you forgot about all the blood spilled by my hands. Among all the Sins, I'm the only one who came to hell because I killed countless people."

I drew in a breath. "Right. Rules are meant to be followed. Don't mind what I said."

What was I thinking? For a moment there, I completely lost all reasoning.

"If you don't want anything from me-"

A sudden thought came to mind.

"The former Humility, can you find her?"

He paused his movement and looked at me in confusion. "How are you sure she was reborn?"

I looked back at him in thought. "Right."

Maybe she found peace...

I was back at square one.
