Zayn was organizing CDs while his friend, Sauve, sat on his ass doing absolutely nothing. It would have bothered him but Zayn was too caught up in his thoughts to even say anything about it. He stayed quiet and made sure that the store was neat before it had opened. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon here in Florence and Zayn would have been still asleep if his friend didn't call him to 'urgently' help him with the music store. Even though Zayn wouldn't have said no he had to remember that Suave was a good friend of his and had his back through anything. So this was nothing.
"Why do you look so depressed?" Asked the dark haired man with a built frame and medium toned skin. He was native to Italy, but he spoke really good English from the fact that his parents are Americans and had moved here after that had gotten married. Sauve had a built frame with strong arms and veins that would occasionally pop out from his skin when he was moving stuff around. He stood around 6'1 with gorgeous features. Sauve was Zayn's first friend since he moved to Italy and they have been close ever since then.
"I'm sleepy," Zayn murmured—lying of course—taking a box of CDs and heading towards the back room.
"You liar," Sauve got up from his chair and followed the Paki-Brit. "You're not telling me something."
"Sauve please man. I'm good," Zayn groaned putting the box on a shelf.
"No you're not," Sauve flat out told him with a blank look on his face. He knew Zayn like the back of his hand. Knowing damn well that he wasn't just 'sleepy'. There was something going on with him and Sauve just know it.
Zayn gave him a frustrated look before he sighed in defeat, "Fine..I'm not okay."
"I knew it. Now spill the beans," Sauve leaned his back against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest, biceps popping out as he waited for the explanation.
"I'm having girl trouble," Zayn admits as his head drops down in embarrassment.
Sauve literally busted out laughing. Even slapping his knee before he stood up straight and gave Zayn a humorous look, "Are you serious? Like again?"
"It's not funny," Zayn mumbled walking out the back room.
"It is to me because you have said this about like five times now these past two months alone," Sauve chuckled following in behind him.
"I know, but this is different Sauve I swear," Zayn sighed deeply, running a hand through his hair.
"You said that the last time," Sauve pointed out with a knowing look on his face.
Zayn hated when Sauve brought that up, but it was true because he did say that often, "I know but I'm really serious about this one. She's been on my mind and I just can't seem to get her out of my thoughts."
"Just wait till you meet another girl and you'll be saying the same thing over again. And let me guess, did you already scare her away?" Sauve asked with a bitter chuckle.
"Something like that," Zayn told him feeling even more embarrassed then he already is right now.
"I'm sorry but..you don't have good luck when it comes to women Zayn," Sauve simply shrugged.
This is when Zayn grew insecure and closed off. He knew that he wasn't a lady's man like Sauve was. Zayn couldn't keep a girl within the same week that he meet them. Just knowing that he might be doing the same thing with Nurah makes him feel so horrible. He thinks that she is a great girl even though he didn't know her that well. It was something about her presence that allures him. She was different, rare, and exciting. And truly, he hadn't felt this way with any other girl before.
Next thing you know the front door opened and a customer came walking into the store. But once they saw who it was their hearts started to pound harder at the sight of the beautiful woman before them.
"I-Is this place not opened yet?" Nurah asked nervously as she looked between the two of them. The door was unlocked and the curtains were drawn back so you couldn't really blame her for assuming. "I mean um..negozio non a-a-aperto?" Realizing that she was in Italy and not everybody spoke English.
"It's open now," Sauve responded in English, grinned dashingly before leaning forward against the counter on his elbows. "What can I get for you miss?"
"Just some more vinyls will do," Nurah told him, almost blushing at his accent and his gaze that was on her. She must admit that he was pretty handsome.
"Vinyls? That's interesting," Sauve swooned at her London accent, even smiling a bit harder at her while Zayn just rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, I have a phonograph back at my apartment," Nurah told him.
"You know my mother has a phonogram that she got from her grandfather long ago. I don't use it but she's always playing Italian classic music on it," Sauve told her smoothly.
"That's crazy because that's why I'm actually here," Nurah laughs softly, the beautiful sound making the two guys almost faint.
Sauve was already fond her, "Great, do you want me to—,"
"No it's fine," Zayn interrupted before anything could further proceed between the two of him. He gave him a false smile. "I got it Sauve. I know her."
"Oh cool," Sauve responded, voice laced with disappointment and a bit of jealously before he smiled at them both and walked into his office, keeping his composure until he closed the door behind him. He was frustrated that Zayn had interrupted their moment and already knew the woman. Sauve thought that woman was so freaking gorgeous. And wanted to at least get her name.
Zayn gulped once he looked at Nurah. Regret soon seeping in his body with every second that passed with him not saying anything to her. Feeling really bad at how he acted the last time they saw each other.
"I know where the vinyls are Zayn. Thanks for just interrupting our conversation like that," Nurah sarcastically spoke before she rolled her eyes and walked her own self to the back of the store.
"Nurah please let me explain," Zayn sighed following behind her but she didn't stop walking away from him.
"You don't have to explain anything," she mumbles slipping between the shelves.
"But I do," he tried to reason with her. And once they were in the back he had finally stepped in front of her so that their eyes were meeting, "I was actions stupid and immature."
Nurah crossed her arms over her chest, frowning softly, "What do you want from me Zayn?" She had finally asked him.
"I just want to apologize, okay? I'm sorry for the way I acted a few days ago. That was just dumb. I'm just..sorry," Zayn finally apologized to her, being sure to sound sincere.
"It's okay," Nurah breathed out. "I forgive you."
"Really?" Zayn asked curiously. This was new, he was never given second chances.
"Yeah, I accept your apology," Nurah shrugged.
"Would you call it stupid if I ask for a second chance?" Zayn tried to say in a hopeful voice in hopes of not losing this woman.
"No not at all," she gave him a tight lipids smile, assuring him that everything was okay.
"Okay," Zayn felt so relived now. He smiled a little bit, wanting her to know how grateful he was. "Would you like to start over Nurah?"
"I'm down with whatever that doesn't keep us away from each other," she says playfully punching his chest, giving him a look of assurance.
"Thank you," Zayn felt he could finally breathe now.
"It was just that I felt a bit uncomfortable on how you were trying to come onto me so suddenly. We just don't know each other like that and um yeah..I just had to leave," Nurah told him honestly with her voice shaking as she spoke, feeling almost embarrassed to tell him that. But it was for the better.
"Still I'm sorry," Zayn apologized once again.
"It's fine, I swear," she promised him.
"Thank you for being so lenient with me. Been goon' crazy for the past few days," Zayn's jaw once he realized what he had just fucking said to her. "I-I mean that I couldn't um..couldn't stop f-feeling had and um—I'm gonna just shut up now."
Nurah giggled slightly at how shy he grew, finding it cute, "How about we go on a little friendly lunch date and just restart? Will that be okay?"
Zayn nodded his head silently, too choked up on his words to say anything. He didn't want to look like a bigger fool than he already is.
"But on one condition," she spoke raising her index finger up.
"Anything," Zayn says openly.
"You have to let me get these vinyls for free," Nurah cheesed pointing to the shelf.
"Deal, get whatever you want. But not the really expensive one or else Sauve will kill me," Zayn nodded.
"Deal, now give me your number," Nurah told him a playful sassy tone.
Just like that they swapped their phones out and exchanged each other's numbers. Zayn had let Nurah get a vinyl for free without Sauve knowing. And just before Nurah left the store she blew Zayn a kiss, leaving his heart fluttering.
