#5 Shudders in the Air

Today's in English, sorry guys ;) Just feels right today, so here we go...

The girl sat there next to that boy. That boy, she admired so much. His always smiling eyes, the sleek nose with the roman bend. They sat next to each other in the dark cinema. They looked at the screen. She was so nervous, so scared of annoying him like all the people before. She tried to ease a bit, trying to relax but she was sacred of doing things wrong, scaring him off, pissing him off. He started whispering in her ear, about things she couldn't remember. But her body loosened a bit at him talking to her while advertisements rushed over the huge screen above them.

The film had started about an hour ago, but her heart was still beating like a rabbit running in front of a car, but it felt good in a strange way. Good knowing him next to her. Feeling safe while adrenaline rushed through her body. Because of him, because of her. She leaned a bit in, a light touch of shoulders in the dark. She heard him breathing out, but he didn't flinch away. How many times did she already think of accidentally touching his hand disguised as taking some popcorn, which was placed between them. She loved the thought of it. The film was great. She didn't know how great cinema was until today. She felt the floor vibrating with the deep bass sounds of the film, watching the movie sweep over the screen and hearing its noises from all around. Dolby Surround, she thought, that's what the sound system is called. Unimportant, but a small piece of information. She concentrated on the movie until he quietly chuckled through his nose, just as she always did, deeming the story funny, and her skin was tickling with his breath. A shudder ran over her. She tried to not show how that went under her skin and sent her attention back toward the movie.

It's been a great storyline and they sometimes had the same thought about several unrealistic scenes or questionable statements when they whispered to each other. She was surprised that she actually paid attention to the film. Twice she almost even cried. They both had exhaled at an actor saying, only idiots would dance. They both knew about Laika, the first dog in space. After the film, after it's credits. He looked at her. Just so far, their shoulders had touched. Now colder air touched her upper arm. She looked at him. Between their faces where about fifteen centimetres space left. How easy it would have been to cross that gap and just kiss him. She wished, she had the courage. She never cared much about other people's opinions about her, but his sight at her, she wished it would never ever change. So, she rested in her seat. The air between them was like electricity and ice, her skin was burning like hell and his gaze was like a well to the midpoint of earth. In her head, she begged God and devil for a piece of courage. But none of them moved. There were just their burning expressions.
