Delta Akane feels like his world shattered apart.

After his defeat to Arthur and the destruction of Devolos, everything around him doesn't make any sense anymore.

'You lose, you're a failure, you're a disgrace, and you are weak!'

Different negative thoughts swirl around his head. Each passing thought feels like a knife is stabbing his heart that bleeds painfully.

His confidence and ambition shattered into million pieces. The usual burning passion that burns on those deep crimson eyes seems to extinguish. It replaces by a void of the abyss that no matter how deep you go, you won't find any trace of hope.

He feels like he let down himself. He failed Devolos.

"You can't just leave your bey"

Drum's warm voice echoes through the cold dark void of his mind. Those kind green eyes and soft smiles give him a stroke of comfort in his heart.

That small moment makes reality slap him.

Why? Why? Why would the person he push away from the start, go out of his way to comfort him? He hurt him the most and yet he's comforting him? Why is he so kind to him? Why did he never show any hatred for him despite all the things he did? How could he be so kind and pure?

He doesn't deserve him and his kindness

And more importantly, he doesn't deserve Devolos either anymore because he is weak.

He walks. He walks wherever his foot brings him. He doesn't know where exactly he is as he keeps wandering around the street. Memories of his failure keep repeating in his head.

Then his phone vibrated. He received a message from Valt Aoi

Meet me at BC Sol

(What?)

Delta is thoroughly confused right now. Why would senpai want to meet him? Why would he want to go to the place he left?

But for some reason, his heart is telling him to go there when his mind is a mess. The wind is whispering to him to do so. He feels so light like he wanted to be carried by the wind.

He's not sure why he's doing this. Maybe because he miss BC Sol, the very first place where he started.

Or maybe he just wanted to be reunited with his mentor

"The surrounding is pretty good huh? I'm glad you could make it. Welcome back"

Valt said sincerely while looking at him with those soft hazel brown eyes, welcoming him with open arms, like he didn't have anything mean to him in the past. He gives him warm smile that shines the sun. This smile can bring everyone happiness, comfort, and inspiration. That's the reason a lot of people like him.

Whatever the reason he came here in BC Sol. He's glad he makes the right decision.

"Even if your bey gets broken, you can always get right back up again. You see, that's what blading is all about"

"Come on Delta let's battle"

A ray of hope shone upon him the moment Valt said that.

Delta is already convinced to leave the world of blading behind. And yet his senpai wants him to stay. He sees no point in going back but...

The way Valt looks at him with those smiles that become more bright because of the sun. He always sees that smile but this is the first time he sees it so clearly and beautifully.

It reminds him of Drum. The same smile that he gives him when feeling lost in his world.

He found a new inspiration to continue. The weight on his heart lifted. The darkness embedded in his mind has been cleared. The fire that extinguishes on those deep crimson lights up again. But this time, the fire of passion intensifies like never before.

He's not only doing this for Valt, Drum or Devolos

He's doing this to make a better version of himself.

The world of blading better watch out. Delta will take the world by storm.

"And don't forget, whatever you need is always right by your side, you just need to reach out for it."

Another inspirational word coming from his mentor make him shocked again.

Realization hit him.

Drum

The image of the small blond boy with green eyes makes his heartache.

Back then he always reached out to him but he keep pushing him away. He always wanted to battle him. He remembers all those awful memories with him.

He wanted to apologize to him. He wanted to reach out to him. He wants to battle him again, not as an enemy but as a rival... and maybe as a friend.

His ambition is the reason he came this far. But the same ambition makes him harsh on himself and others.

He needs a new perspective in life. Something that will lead him to a better path.

"Delta can we talk"

Delta froze in his position. He was taken aback at the sudden call and request to him. But the way Valt talk make him slightly concerned. He's not sure if he's just imagining it but there is something off to Valt.

He looks over to the older bluenette. His hazel brown eyes gleam in something he couldn't name of. He's smiling but the color of his expression doesn't suit him.

"Sure" Delta spoke meekly while his gut feeling scream in a disturbance.

It's late night already and most BC Sol members are sleeping. He just finish evolving his bey into Master Devolos where Valt stays to watch him over.

Valt walk in a certain direction with a strange aura behind him. He didn't leave any detail so the sea green-haired boy silently follow him.

The bluenette leads him outside BC Sol and inside a forest. Delta is familiar with the direction they're taking. In the past, he used to go there when he was practicing with Valt. 

The old ruin stadium. The perpetual beauty of this place never ceases to amaze him. Add the light from the moon and the beautiful night sky to make it more stunning. Hidden behind the trees where they won't be spotted by anyone. It's the perfect place if you want a peaceful place. This place is full of memories for the BC Sol bladers.

Both of them stop in their tracks.
Delta waits patiently for Valt to speak and when he does, sharp hazel brown eyes gaze into his own.

The next thing Valt did, made Delta shocked.

Valt Aoi bows down in an apologizing manner. "I'm sorry Delta for failing as your teacher and never giving you enough support"

Delta's whole body froze on his spot. He couldn't utter a single word. It took him a moment to absorb the thing that just happened, and when he did, he look over Valt who still bowing down. The guilt and sadness written in his voice make Delta's heartache.

He takes a shaky breath before he talks in a hushed tone

"P-please senpai stand up"

Valt's eyes widen in surprise, Delta had never called him senpai before and his voice sound uncharacteristic.

The bluenette looks over the Devolos blader which this time he's the one who gets shocked

Hazel brown eyes widen in surprise at the sight of tears silently falling on Delta's face

"D-delta—!"

"Y-you did nothing w-wrong so please don't lower y-yourself like this. I-in fact, I'm the one who made the m-mistake. I let the d-darkness inside my h-heart c-consume me. I let my s-selfish ambition lead me this way. So I should be the one who's a-apologizing" Delta speaks between his sobs and stammer words

Delta isn't the type of person who would show his emotion easily. He always maintains his composure but the fact he's crying right now is truly a rare sight.
It appears the recent events and Valt's words managed to trigger him to bring him into such a state like this.

His sharp eyes that burn in passion are not like his fragile mental stability.

Valt's eyes soften at what he said. He walks over to the younger blader and gently wipes his tears.

"Delta since we're here where no one could see us. You can tell all the things you wanted. I can see your hiding something. But if you're not comfortable then it's ok" Valt said in a hushed tone to not

Delta nod in understanding and held his head down.

"It was Theodore Glass. He said something to me" Delta finally confess

Whatever Valt is expecting, it wasn't that
"What—"

("It appears the BC Sol and Valt Aoi are not paying attention to you. Your talent is a waste in that place"

His voice is sweet like candy but the meaning of his words turns poisonous.

He knows this man. Theodore Glass is also known as the leader of the snake pit. He is known as a manipulator who used bladers as his pawn. He knew what motivate bladers and used it against them.

He's not gonna fall for it even though his words almost plant doubt in his heart.

He's not gonna fall for it. Whatever happens, he's not gonna join his illegal organization.

"I don't care and mind your own business." he sassily said leaving the man shock on his face but secretly hiding a smirk

BC Sol and Valt raise no weak blader.

And he will continue to believe that from the bottom of his heart

He may act rude towards Valt but...

Deep inside he respects him as a blader, teacher, and person.

That will never change no matter what sickly lies people will tell him.

But the seed of doubt successfully bloom in his heart)

Valt, listen carefully to his explanation and the horror of realization strike him down.

Delta notices it. He's aware of the sad past he experienced. The betrayal of his best friend because of that man will surely remain on his mind.

"I would be lying if I said I almost didn't fall for his words. There are times I feel like you favor Drum more than me. But I believe what you're doing is called fairness because I'm not the only BC Sol bladers you handling. I guess I almost get jealous because I'm used to the undivided attention you give to me at that time. But rest assured those awful feelings had already died" Delta explain after he managed to calm down and smile weakly to assure him

A refuel smile formed on Valt's lips

That night, both of them have a heart-to-heart talk. They talk about unspoken issues about each other so better understanding will shine through.

Delta feels like an enormous weight has been lifted from his heart. He never feels this fresh. The fact he manages to open up to the person he trusts is truly a relief for both parties.

That night was both sad and delightful. Thankfully better results bloom despite what just happened.

Delta looks over the night sky, he used to think that there is only one star that can shine the brightest but looking over the thousands of stars in the sky. It makes him realize they shine together and it looks more beautiful...like they are a family. The idea of a star shining alone in the sky sounds lonely.

All the things happening around him make him realize the solicitude of people who never leave him in the dark.

He never felt so grateful in his life. He needs to pay them back.

By beating Arthur and the Inferno. And to redeem himself.

The Victories succeed in taking on Hell. They protected the future of the blading world.

Valt Aoi and Aiga Akaba are here in the victories to congratulate them and battle them as a token.

Right now, Aiga and Drum are facing off together with the other members of the victories inside the Victories Gym.

He takes a moment to go outside to take some air. It was quite chaotic on the inside because of certain shouting of maroon haired boy and a blond boy. They don't even look like having a bey battle, more like bickering like little children.

He hears a footstep coming from behind and he looks over to see a familiar face.

The sea green-haired blader never said a word and tilt his head instead in acknowledgment.

"What are you doing outside?" The older bluenette ask

"It's chaotic" he simply said and it's true, he can hear the shouting inside the gym even tho he was already outside. Damn, they are so wild

Valt chuckled in amusement "I see"

"How about you?" Delta asks this time.

"Well, I want to tell you something"

Delta furrowed his eyebrows in confusion "What is it?"

At that moment, the wonder boy manages to surprise him again y the next words that almost bring him into tears

"I'm proud of you Delta. I'm glad I had you as my student. You truly become a great blader." Valt said softly and sincerely, and there is no doubt his words are true in the way his eyes shimmer in fondness while looking at him.

Crimson eyes widen in surprise, his heart feel delighted, happiness stroke across his heart and his ears are turning red.

It feels so nice to hear it. He couldn't contain the happiness he feel. It was only a few words but it had a big impact on him.

"T-thank you Valt-senpai"

He cracks a rare smile to show his gratefulness towards the person who continues to support him from the start and never stops believing him through the end. He's the very reason he stays in blading world and becomes a great blader he never imagined.

Valt Aoi is the best teacher in his eyes.
