Moments of Retribution

WARNING: SLIGHT ABUSE

⚖️

The boy with messy, ocean-blue hair and hazelnut eyes stared intently at the wooden ceiling above him, unable to will himself to sleep. Despite the late hour, his mind was buzzing with thoughts that refused to quiet down. What could be keeping him awake?

As it turned out, the answer was homework - a simple essay about his dreams for the future. It should have been an easy assignment, but the boy found himself struggling to come up with anything that felt truly real or possible. Every idea that came to mind seemed either too high or too far-fetched.

He was bitterly aware of his limitations - his academic struggles, his lack of athletic prowess, his inability to bake even the simplest form of bread. He felt like a failure in every sense of the word.

(Because he is)

But his mother was always there to offer words of encouragement and support. She reminded him that every person has unique talents and skills and that he would find his own in time. Deep down, he wanted to believe her - he longed to find that one thing that would bring him joy and fulfillment.

(He just wanted to be worth of something)

Tired from hours of fruitless brainstorming, he drifted off to sleep with the blank sheet of paper still sitting on his desk.

The next day in class, the teacher named Mr. Kareki was mad when he saw the boy's empty paper. With a sneer, he crumpled it up and threw it at the boy's head, causing laughter from his classmates. The boy was used to this kind of treatment, but it still hurt.

As he left the classroom, head down and feeling defeated, he couldn't help but wonder if his mother was right. Was there something special hidden deep inside him, waiting to be discovered? He wasn't sure, but he knew that he had to keep searching. Maybe one day, he would find his path, his dream, and finally feel like he belonged.

The bluenette was having a terrible day. He was supposed to arrive at school early, but he had spotted a helpless kitten stuck high up in a tree, and couldn't leave it there. In his attempts to rescue the little creature, he ended up getting hurt himself.

Now he sat in the back of the classroom, wincing in pain as he listened to the teacher's lesson. The wound on his leg throbbed, making it difficult to concentrate on anything else.

Suddenly, the teacher's voice boomed out, interrupting his thoughts. The bluenette looked up to see his teacher staring at him with a disapproving expression. He could feel the eyes of his classmates boring into him, judging him once again.

"Valt Aoi!" Mr. Kareki snapped. "Are you even listening?"

The bluenette wanted to snap back, to tell the teacher that he was in pain and couldn't focus. But he knew that would only make things worse. He swallowed hard and answered meekly, "No, Sensei."

The teacher pointed to the blackboard and asked him to solve a problem. The bluenette's heart raced as he made his way to the front of the class. He tried to encourage himself, reminding himself that he was capable and smart. But the voices of his classmates echoed in his head, taunting him with their cruel comments.

He tried to ignore them as he wrote the answer on the board, hoping it was correct. But when he turned around, the teacher slapped him across the face, and the class erupted in laughter.

(It hurts)

(Please, stop)

The bluenette felt like he was shrinking, becoming smaller and smaller with each passing moment. He clenched his fists, trying not to cry. He had been through this before, but it never got any easier.

The teacher scolded the class and the laughter died down, but the damage was already done. The bluenette felt like he was invisible like he didn't matter. He wondered what was wrong with him, why he always seemed to be the target of their insult.

(Why? Just why?)

As he sat there, humiliated and hurting, he wished he could scream at them, to tell them how much they were hurting him. But he knew that would only make things worse. He felt weak and powerless like he could never be anything more than the small, pathetic person they saw him as.

Valt couldn't help but feel amazed at how far he had come from those awful memories of being belittled and mistreated. He never thought he would achieve anything outstanding in his life, but now he was a well-known legendary blader. Despite all the doubts of people, he endured and never gave up on his dreams.

(And he succeed)

It had been years since he had visited Beigoma Academy, and he wondered if anything had changed. He wore a more indistinct hairstyle, but kept his outfit, not wanting to go through the bother of changing. The memories of the school differed from painful to beautiful, but they had all helped shape him into the person he was now.

As he strolled down a quiet hallway, he heard a commotion coming from a corner. Curiosity getting the better of him, he decided to investigate.

There, standing before a trembling girl with raven hair and blue-green eyes, was Mr. Kareki, the same teacher who had mistreated Valt all those years ago. And now he was verbally abusing another student, spewing harsh words and cruel insults that made Valt's stomach churn.

"Lira, you are so lazy and that's why your grade is so low and you have no skills at all, how do you expect to achieve something in your life" Mr. Kareki cruelly said

Valt can't take it anymore, so with the courage he muster, he step in.

"Stop!"

The old man doesn't like the interruptions, he looks over at the person who stops, and his body shivers in fear when he saw those cold and menacing eyes staring at him.

Mr. Kareki withdraws his hands and glares at the person who stops him. "How dare you stop me. Kid, you should treat people older with respect."

Valt snorted in disgust upon hearing that, "I only respect people who deserve respect, unlike you who humiliate students instead of motivating them. You always expect students to learn immediately and base intelligence on grades. The teacher's hands are supposed to guide and comfort students and yet you use yours to hurt them. I don't know how you even become a teacher because you suck at this job"

Hearing those bold remarks just make Mr. Kareki angrier. "Oh yeah!? Why?! Did you achieve already in your life?"

(Oh, he likes where this conversation is going)

Valt smiled proudly, "You still haven't recognized me aren't you, well guess what, the former student you always humiliated in front of the class is now a well-known legendary blader all around the world, Valt Aoi!"

Mr. Kareki froze on his spot, he always heard that name everywhere and see on tv. He can't believe it, once known as the "good-for-nothing kid," is now a legendary blader, beloved and respected throughout the world. He achieved greater height, unlike him.

"I heard everything"

A voice rang and a tall figure with grey hair and a mustache, show up. He is wearing glasses, a white shirt with a brown tie, and a green-white jacket. It was then that Principal Shinoda arrived, his presence is commanding and authoritative.

"P-principal S-shinoda!?" Mr. Kareki shrieked in surprise.

"Everything that Valt Aoi said is right while you Mr. Kareki step out of the line. From today, you are now fired and your license will be taken since you also have students, you will be in jail too, and luckily the police just came." The principal said making the former teacher fall on his knees.

Valt smirked in satisfying victory.

Victorious, Valt made his way out of the school, his heart pounding with adrenaline and satisfaction. But as he walked, a voice called out to him.

Lira.

The girl he had saved.

She ran to catch up with him, her eyes wide with gratitude and admiration.

But as Lira looked up at him, her eyes shining with hope and uncertainty, Valt knew there was more he had to do.

"Valt-senpai... do you think I'll achieve something great in my life too" Ask the girl with a vulnerable voice and teary eyes.

Valt only grins, without hesitation, he knows exactly what to say.

"Of course you are! You'll achieve something great for sure, believe in yourself, and keep fighting, don't listen to those people who belittle you. I believe you can do anything as long you'll never give up!"

Lira nodded, her eyes brimming with tears, hearing those motivational words make her happy as she see a new hope in her dark world.

"Thank you," she whispered. "Thank you for believing in me."

Valt smiled, "You're welcome"
