Talking (8)

Molten Freddy lifted themselves up, close to the ceiling to keep from being seen. Baby simply stepped to the side, against the wall. James backed away as you quickly stepped out of the office and shut the door behind you.

You looked around, to see the pizzeria practically packed. You were tackled from your thoughts by someone.

"What the--"

"(Y/N)!"

"Oh, hey, Emmy," you chuckled, lifting her up and hugging her.

Emily giggled, slinging her arms around your neck. You put your arms under her legs to keep her from slipping.

You saw Savannah gesture for you to go over to where she was. You obliged, shuffling over to stand beside the table she was sat at.

"So, Emmy--" Emily leaned back to look at you, her hands remaining on your shoulders to balance herself--"how'd you get here so early?"

"Momma drove me," she told you.

"Alright, smarty-pants--"

"She learned it from you," Savannah commented, snickering.

"They let everyone out of school, did they?" you wondered, pursing your lips.

"Yeah!"

"Do you know why?"

"Ms. Green was coughing a lot, and then she dropped her papers and fell down," Emily explained, making your eyes widen.

"Oh, is- . . ." You glanced to Savannah. "Is she okay?"

"Someone had to call 9-1-1, and then some police officers came and put her on this surfboard, and then they carried her out on it," she continued.

"You don't think--" You looked over at Savannah, a worrisome look on your face--"that 'bug' is going around again, do you?"

"I'm not sure. I certainly hope not. They have vaccines now, though, so it wouldn't be as bad as it was." Savannah looked up, sighing.

"Does it fly?" Emily wondered.

"Does what fly?"

"The bug."

"Oh, no, I meant bug like, as in, virus."

"Like one on a computer?" Emily tilted her head.

"N- Well, I guess so. They're kind of similar," you mused. "Anyway, onto something not negative! Onto our appointment!"

"Over pizza!" Emily cheered, lifting her finger into the air.

"So, what do you guys want?" you wondered, setting Emily down.

"Emily?" Savannah asked as Emily hopped into a chair.

"Hm- Let me see," Emily hummed, grabbing a menu and studying it.

"Savannah, what do you want?"

"I'll just get whatever she wants."

"Vannie, it's on me--" You winked at her--"so get whatever you want. We can make it half and half if you're worried about wasting and all that."

"O-kay," Savannah chuckled, rolling her eyes. "I'll get something. We'll do half and half like you said."

"Alrighty--"

Your phone "bing"ed, making you pause. You slid it out of your pocket some--just enough to see what it was. It was a message from James: "I'm sorry." You raised an eyebrow, looking back at him. When you made eye contact, he looked away and pursed his lips.

"I'll be right back--you guys go ahead and order something," you told Emily and Savannah.

"What do you want, (Y/N)?" Savannah murmured, looking at the menu.

"Just a regular pizza. A cheese pizza, I guess," you muttered, and she nodded.

You started to walk towards James. He saw you out of the corner of his eye and started to panic, frantically typing on his phone. Your phone "bing"ed again, and you stopped in your tracks.

You raised an eyebrow as you looked him up and down, slowly sliding your phone out of your pocket. You looked down at it: "Don't." You gave him an inquisitive look that said 'Really?'

You rolled your eyes, texting him back: Why?

Because you wouldn't listen to me if we were to talk

What makes you so sure I'll listen to you on here

You are

"Well, he's not wrong," you heard a voice speak by your ear.

"Pardon?"

You whipped around to see who had said that, but nobody was there. You noticed a bug on your shoulder and instinctively went to smack it off.

"Wait, w-wait! Don't hit us!" it hissed, putting up its arms.

You paused, recognizing the voice. It was Molten Freddy. You were about to ask them what they were doing, when you noticed what they were: a spider.

"Change!" you whispered. "Change into something else!"

"Wh-what? Why?" they babbled in confusion.

"Just change!" You looked away, shuddering. "Right now."

"Oh- Fi-ine, you big-ig baby," Foxy scoffed.

They glowed faintly as an orb, and you covered them up some with your hand. You peeked between your fingers to see that they had changed into a butterfly.

"There we go," you chuckled quietly, lifting them onto your finger.

"Ba-aby," Foxy huffed.

"No, I'm (Y/N). Baby's in the office," you replied sarcastically, smiling.

"You s-smart-ass," Foxy growled, making you giggle mischievously.

"Are you guys okay in that body?" you worried, seeing as they were still mangled up.

"Butter-flies don't ha-ave pain receptors-ors," Ballora assured you. "Nor-or do spi-ders."

"Oh, right--"

Another message from James interrupted you once more: Are you talking to them?

You set Molten Freddy on your shoulder as you replied: Yes

We can talk later then

What?
Why?

I want to talk to you only
I don't want them to manipulate you

"M-manip-ipulate you? Kind of-of like how he-e-e did?" Foxy sassed.

". . ."

I can see what you mean
I'll tell them to go

"Wh-what? Really-y?" Foxy raved.

"Go on--" You stuck your finger underneath them and lifted them up--"I'll talk to you guys later."

"Fi-i-ine. Fuck-uck you," you heard Foxy grumble as he fluttered away.

You watched them fly up to a vent and disappear between the grates. You rolled your eyes, looking back to your phone.

They're gone
Now to what you were wanting to talk about
What was it?

I wanted to say that I was sorry
For lying to you
I didn't want you to get hurt

You rolled your eyes, sighing. I know
What are you looking for?

What am I looking for??

Are you looking for me to forgive you? Is that what you want?

. . . Maybe

Five years, James
You lied to me for five years
And through all those years I trusted you
You had convinced me I was crazy
You fucked me up, James
Everything was fine
Everything was perfect

(Y/N)
I just didn't want you to get hurt

You didn't want me hurt??
YOU HELPED AFTON KILL ME

I was forced to
He was going to kill my wife
Emily wouldn't be here if he killed her

You pulled me away from the love of my life
And friends that I would've done anything for
You felt tears well up in your eyes.

You told me they forced you to stay at the pizzeria and help them
They wouldn't let you leave
They trapped you there and manipulated you

That was before
Before, when they were scared of what they were made to do

EXACTLY
They were made to KILL

You're not fucking listening to me
I fixed them after I freed them from their suits
They had control over it
They weren't going to hurt me or anyone else anymore
And they didn't manipulate me
I wanted to help them
I could've left whenever I wanted to

They've made you think all this

You locked your phone, not bothering to see what else he had to say. You pressed your palms into your temples, growling and closing your eyes. Your phone started ringing, making you open your eyes and look down at it. James was calling you.

You grunted, answering it, "Wha--"

"Calm down!" James whispered in a worried tone.

You huffed. "What do you mean?"

"Your hair," he hissed.

"Hm--" You noticed the shifting in your hair--"Oh."

You used your hand to brush it back down. It was persistent, though, so you had to hold it in place.

"I'm sorry. I'm just trying to tell you--"

"You think I'm some kind of simple-minded bitch that can be manipulated so easily?"

"No--"

"You think I'm some weak damsel in fucking, distress--that can't defend herself?"

"N- Against animatronics, yes!" James insisted.

You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. "Look, can we talk about this later?"

"(Y/N)--"

"When the pizzeria's not packed with people," you suggested, glancing around.

"(Y/N), our pizza's here!" Emily exclaimed, calling for you.

You turned towards her. "Alright, I'll be there in a minute."

"Okay! 1, 2, 3, 4--"

You rolled your eyes and chuckled, then looked back at James. "And when your daughter isn't here."

He sighed, "Okay."

You ended the call and shoved your phone back in your pocket. You spun around and grinned, plopping down in the chair next to Emily and making her giggle.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" you wondered, opening up your pizza box and grabbing a slice.

~ ~ ~ ~

"Bye, Emmy, Vannie!" You smiled, waving to them as they skipped and walked--respectively--across the parking lot.

"Bye bye!" Emily exclaimed, spinning around to wave at you.

"Bye, (Y/N)!" Savannah waved as well.

". . . James." You glared at him.

James nodded, looking down and away. Savannah raised an eyebrow, looking between the two of you.

"What's wrong with you two? Are you guys not getting along?" she worried.

"It's nothing to worry about, dear. Let's just get home," James assured her, though not convincingly.

Savannah hummed, glancing back and forth: to you, then to James. You smiled, waving to her. She squinted, grunting as she got back in the car.

You watched them drive off, then locked the doors and turned around. You sighed, looking down as you walked towards the office. You were stopped in your tracks when something suddenly wrapped around your waist.

"Hey-ey, why not t-turn that frown--" Molten Freddy lifted you off the ground and flipped you over--"up-upside dow-own!"

"FREDDY!" You were stuck between laughing and being scared.

"There-ere we g-go!" Freddy exclaimed, turning you back right-side up.

"Put me down!" you chuckled.

Freddy giggled. The wires slowly started to get tighter and tighter.

"Uhh, Freddy, that kinda hur- Ergh- Too tight, Freddy!"

"Fre-ddy, we talked a-about this," Ballora scolded him softly, the wires loosening.

"I-I know. I-I'm sorry. I was j-just wanting to see-ee what would hap-appen," Freddy apologized as he set you down.

"Yeah--hy-hypothesis: it's going to-o hurt her. Re-esults: it fuck-uck-ucking, hurt her-er," Foxy sassed, sounding angry.

"Oh, shut up, Foxy. It didn't hurt that bad," you scoffed, pushing the creases out of your shirt.

"'It-it didn't hurt tha-at bad'- 'I-It didn't hurt tha-a-at bad.' It still-ill hurt!" Foxy ranted.

"It won't kill me," you sneered, rolling your eyes. "Literally."

"It still fuck-ing--" Foxy cut himself off, groaning and slumping his shoulders. ". . . Hey, where-ere are you go-oing?"

"Into the office," you informed him, pointing to the door as you walked towards it. "I've got to finish ordering and printing things."

You heard Foxy groan a sigh as you noticed Helpy stand against the wall, shutting down for the night. You then felt yourself being lifted off the ground.

"Hey, what are you doing? Put me down!" you barked.

"You're too-oo slow," Foxy griped.

He quickly lifted you over to the office door, opened it, and went inside. He sat you down at the chair, closing the door. He lowered down to the floor.

You huffed, shifting in the chair to get comfortable. You turned on the terminal and started ordering things. Freddy slowly moved beside you, glancing between you and the screen.

"Caa-aan . . . wee-e-ee . . . hee-ee-eelp?" Freddy sang, bouncing slightly.

"Sure," you yawned, stretching your arms about your head. "Just, press a button and wait for the spinny thing to disappear, then press a different button and repeat."

Freddy squealed, excitedly tapping a button to start printing things. You chuckled and smiled, resting your elbow on the chair arm and your cheek against your fist. He waited for the spinning circle to stop, then pressed the next button. When it stopped, he was about to press the next one, but he noticed that there wasn't another one.

"They're all-all gone, (Y/N). What-at do I d-do now?" Freddy questioned. ". . . (Y/N)?"

He looked back to you, to see you asleep, only propped up by your arm, which was starting to sway. Foxy sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he closed his eyes.

He slid the wires around and under you, gently lifting you up off the chair. He lowered you down to the makeshift bed underneath the desk. He then tucked you in, rubbing your cheek softly with his thumb.
