Hammock (11)

"Have a good night!" You waved to the last customers as they left.

Michael and James were already starting to put up the chairs. You pulled the keys from your pocket and locked the front doors.

"So . . . Michael, you said you know what your father did to me?" you muttered, glancing back at him.

"Yes. I'm sorry," he uttered in shame.

"Er- No need to apologise." You scratched the back of your neck, reminded of what William had said when he met you as 'Michael.' "Um, if you could reiterate what he did, because I just want to make sure."

"He killed you," he replied.

"Okay. Yeah," you nodded. "I'm dead . . . and, I know you are too."

"Is it that obvious?" Michael raised an eyebrow--you couldn't tell whether he was being sarcastic or genuine.

"Well, I was told. You know about Molten Freddy, yeah?" you wondered, the butterfly on your shoulder hopping up and down in excitement.

"Yeah," he grimaced.

The butterfly morphed into a bright orb, before shifting back into Molten Freddy. Michael and James's eyes widened.

"M-M-Mikey!" Freddy jumped off your shoulder to tackle him in a hug.

"Ohh- Hey there," Michael chuckled with gritted teeth.

"I take it you also know about Scrap Baby?" you chuckled nervously.

"He better not have forgotten about me," Baby sassed, stepping out of the office.

"No, I didn't," he grunted as Freddy squeezed him.

"So, I'm a poltergeist, Molten Freddy and Baby are like the Tsuku-whatevers, and you're basically a corpse," you explained, questioning on the last part.

"Yeah."

"Oh, and James is a liar!"

"(Y/N), I've apologised a million times," James mumbled.

Michael looked between the two of you as you glared at him. James looked away, putting up the last chair.

"Anyway, I should be getting home."

"Oh, um- . . . I should be going too." You coughed, pointing towards the front doors as James walked to them.

"Wha-a-at? Where-ere are you go-going?" Freddy worried, pulling away from Michael--who let out a sigh of relief and stepped farther away from him.

"I'm going home, Freddy," you told him, following after James.

"N-n-no," Freddy pouted.

'Freddy, she's not actually going anywhere. She's just going outside until Michael goes into the office,' Ballora told him.

'Ohhh.'

"Don't worry, I'll be back early tomorrow morning, Fred," you assured him.

'Liar, liar, pants on fire~' Freddy sang bitterly, folding his arms.

"Okay," Foxy replied, keeping Freddy from saying anything.

"See you tomorrow, Michael," James called to him as he left.

"See ya!" You waved to him.

"Alright." Michael waved back.

You walked outside, following after James. He looked back to you, raising an eyebrow and wondering what you had planned.

"So, I'm going to get in your truck. We're going to drive over to the light and stop. Then, I'll get out and grab my suitcase from the trunk. You can leave after that," you explained, before getting into the passenger side of the truck.

"Why are you going through all this trouble? Why not just grab your suitcase?" James wondered as he started the vehicle.

"Because of this." James's eyes widened, and he went silent for a few seconds.

"Oh, right, the invisi--" James watched as the strap was pulled and buckled up--"Oh, that's weird."

"Yeah. So, Michael would see a floating suitcase if I got it now," you replied, making sure he could see you again.

"Why don't you just tell him you're living in the pizzeria?" he suggested, backing out of the parking spot.

"Er- . . ." You rubbed the back of your neck, blushing lightly. "I'd rather not. I don't want him to think I'm some kind of cheapskate."

"But you are--"

"Don't--"

"--n't."

"Oh."

"Alright. You guys go on back into the office. In the vents, I guess," Michael told the animatronics.

You looked around the corner, where Michael was guiding everyone into the office. He was turned away, so you figured you could sneak in while he wasn't looking. As you pulled at the door, though, you found that they were locked.

You waved your arms, trying to catch one of the animatronics' attention. Molten Freddy looked over to you, and you pointed to the door, signalling that it was locked. He nodded inconspicuously.

"Okie do-kie, Mikey-ey!" Freddy exclaimed, swinging along the ceiling towards him.

You saw a wire slither down behind Michael. It carefully grabbed the keys off his belt loop, then made its way towards the door. You watched it fumble the key into the door, and when you heard it click, you gave Molten Freddy the thumbs up. The wire slid back and put the keys back where they were on Michael's belt.

"You're com-oming in too, are-aren't you, Mikey?" Freddy wondered, waiting above the doorway.

"Yeah." He nodded.

You waited until everyone had gone into the office to grab your suitcase and sneak inside. You lugged it over to the stage, where you hid it behind the animatronics. Now all you had to do was wait until Molten Freddy could sneak out of the vents.

You yawned, sitting on the edge of the stage. You felt a tap on your shoulder, which made you look over. You didn't see anything, though. You raised an eyebrow, but it dropped when you heard a giggle over your other shoulder. You whipped around, to see Molten Freddy with a mischievous grin on his face.

"I go-ot you~" Freddy snickered, putting his hands over his mouth.

"Oh, wow. I thought I could trust you, Fred! You've betrayed my trust!" you joked dramatically.

"Wh-what- No, I-I-I'm sorry! I w-w-was j-just play-ing!" he apologized spastically.

"So was I, Fred! It's okay," you chuckled nervously, gesturing for him to calm down.

"Ohh-hh."

"Anyway, come with me."

You stood up, walking over towards the corner. Molten Freddy followed you, stopping as you did. You waved him down, making him lower down to you.

"Put your torso flat like this."

Freddy raised an eyebrow as you nudged him around. You lowered him down a little more, then swung your leg over him, straddling him. His eye flickered to yellow.

"Wh-what the hell-ell are-are you do-ing?" Foxy snapped, his face steaming.

"Taking up Freddy's offer . . . to use him as a hammock," you explained slowly as you sat on him.

"O-oh . . . ri-ight," he snarled.

Foxy lifted you and himself up. You started to lose your balance, but lowered your chest to Foxy's and held your hands against him to keep yourself steady.

"Don't- Mm--" Foxy grumbled to himself, furrowing his eyebrows.

"So, why are you here?" you sassed.

You laid your chin on your hands. He looked down and glared at you. He couldn't help but notice how close you were to him, though.

"Because . . . Fre-ddy would end up strang-angling you in-in your slee-eep," he mumbled bashfully.

"Why would you c--" You squinted and raised an eyebrow suspiciously--". . . What's up with you?"

"What-at do you mean?" Foxy grunted.

"You're acting weird," you hummed, leaning up to him.

"I-I'm acting weird?" He leaned his head away, blushing. "Why are you-ou getting so-so close to me-e?"

"I'm trying to get close to Freddy, but you're kind of getting in the way." You fell back into place, giving him a look with half closed eyes.

"I-I-I- You- . . . You're--" Foxy grumbled, looking away.

You yawned slightly. "Eh, whatever. Let's drop this. I'm too tired."

You folded your arm across Foxy's chest, resting your head in the nook of your elbow. As you closed your eyes, Foxy sighed in defeat, resting his hands on your back. You soon fell asleep.

~ ~ ~ ~

You were woken up by gentle patting on your back. You peeked your eyes open, slowly lifting your head.

"Hmm?"

"Hey, M-Michael's about to come out of-of the office. I don't know i-if the invis-ibility thing works if y-you're unconscious, so I-I woke you up in ca-ase," Foxy whispered.

"Where is he?" you mumbled in your sleepiness.

Before he could reply, you heard a door open. You looked over, to see Michael stepping out of the office. He closed the door and made his way across the pizzeria, unclipping his keys from his pocket. As he got to the door, he paused.

"I thought I locked this," he muttered to himself, pushing open the door and leaving.

As he locked the doors, you looked back up to Foxy. "Can I go to sleep, now?"

"Yes, you can go back to-o sleep, you poor thing," Foxy snickered, nodding.

"Mm- Thank you," you murmured as you dropped your head.

It didn't take you but a second to fall back asleep. Foxy sighed, softly rubbing your back.

~ ~ ~ ~

You were woken up again by gentle patting on your back. You stirred some, but didn't open your eyes.

"Hey-ey, I know you're up," you heard Foxy say.

"Five more minutes," you whined.

"You s-said that five-five minutes ago," he grunted. "It's al-most 8. Don't you nee-eed to get up-up to 'play-test' and stuff?"

"Mm- Yes," you groaned, clenching your eyes shut.

Foxy rolled his eyes, wrapping wires around each of your wrists. You whined as he lifted you and moved out from under you. He slowly lowered you to the floor, then dropped your arms by your sides.

"Thanks."

You stretched your arms above your head, yawning. You heard Helpy waddle up to you, and after looking down to him, he handed you the tablet.

"Alrighty. Let's get this day going."

You walked over to Candy Cadet, starting playtesting him. Foxy followed you. You pulled your phone out of your pocket, unlocking it, then started texting. He looked over your shoulder, raising an eyebrow.

"Ever heard of privacy?" you muttered, not even glancing at him.

"Wha-a- Y- Shut-ut the f-f-fuck up!" Foxy blurted in a flustered mess. ". . . Who are you-ou texting?"

"Michael and James--" Before he could object, you continued--"I'm telling them not to come early, and that I can get stuff ready for the day on my own."

"Oh rea-eally?" Foxy jeered. "You're go-ing to do it on-on your own? With n-n-no help from Fr-eddy?"

"I-I don't-on't get to-o help?" Freddy worried, sticking out his lip.

"I didn't say that . . . Fine, I'll tell them that we can get stuff ready for the day on our own." You folded your arms.

"That's what-at I thought," Foxy sassed, mimicking you.

"Fuck off," you grunted, rolling your eyes.

"Hey, d-don't you roll your-our eyes at-at me, m-m-missy!" Foxy blurted, making it apparent that he was just joking.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Foxy," you joked back, sticking your tongue out at him.

He furrowed his eyebrows, snickering. You looked back down to your phone, rolling your eyes again. You heard Foxy gasp dramatically, then laugh, making you chuckle.

After you 'corrected' yourself, you sent Michael and James the text. A few minutes later, you got a message back--from Michael--saying that he would be there a few minutes before the pizzeria opened. You replied with a simple thumbs-up emoji.

"Now I will tell you a story," Candy Cadet spoke, making your eyes widen.

"Oh, shit, really?"

"Now I will tell you a story about a young woman who was sealed in a small room. In the room was a furnace and five keys. She was told that each of the five keys would unlock one of five doors outside her room. Inside each room was a child that she could take with her as she fled the building. But she was only allowed to leave her own room with one key, not all five. Desperate to find a way to save all five children, the woman melted the five keys together in the furnace to create a single key, hoping it would unlock all five doors. But, of course, it did not work that way. Now her key opened none of the doors. Rather than leaving her room with a key to one life, she had taken with her the key to five deaths."

"Right. That still wasn't the rest of the story, though. Is there even another part to that?" you ranted.

You sighed, giving up on it. You heard Foxy snicker, and you shot him a glare. After using the rest of your play tokens, you handed the tablet back to Helpy, patting him on the top of his head.

You walked over to the office, with Foxy following you. As you approached the door, you could hear Baby talking to someone else.

"What-at are we do-ing exactly?"

"I haven't seen Baby in a while. I want to make sure she doesn't feel left out or lonely."

"I can't--" Baby stopped talking as you opened the door and peeked your head inside.

"Who you talking to?" you wondered, stepping inside.

"Oh, um--"

"So, we meet again," an all-too-familiar voice made your eyes narrow.
