Cute Things Ensue (19)
"Remember, Freddy, that Emily is still sick. We don't want to swing her around too much, or it'll make her feel worse," you warned him as he held Emily up in the air.
"Oh . . . Okay."
Freddy carried Emily back to the couch. He grabbed the blanket, then wrapped Emily up in it like a burrito. She giggled as he set her down on the couch.
"Oh, I forgot to mention! Foxy and Freddy are my boyfriends," you gushed, wrapping your arm around their neck.
"Boyfriends? You can have two boyfriends?" Emily glanced back to her dad.
"No ideas!" James insisted, making you snicker.
"Hey--Baby, Molten Freddy--why don't you guys perform something for Emily!" You glanced between her and the animatronics.
"We should!" Freddy gasped.
"I don't know . . . It's been so long since the last we've actually performed for someone. I'm probably a little rusty," Baby mused nervously.
"Also, how would that work? Ballora and I don't have our own bodies," Foxy added.
"We can sing something for her!" Freddy suggested.
"Our voices aren't any different, so I guess that should work."
They quietly decided what they'd sing--as to not spoil it for their "audience." You hopped onto the couch beside Emily, excited to see them perform again. James led Savannah back into the kitchen, not wanting Emily to overhear him explaining how you were supposed to be dead.
"Are you ready for the show to start?" Baby asked, trying to get in the right mindset to perform.
"Yeah!" you and Emily shouted in near unison.
"Ballora, Foxy, Freddy, are you guys ready?" Baby looked to them.
"Indeed, I am," Ballora replied.
"Yep!" Foxy added.
"Let's get this show started!" Freddy exclaimed.
After a couple seconds, the group started singing, with Baby leading. The more they sang, the more comfortable they got with it. It reminded them of their old performances, and how much they actually missed them.
You and Emily watched and listened in wonder, huge grins on both of your faces. Hearing them perform made nostalgic memories flood your mind.
When they came to the end of their song, they smiled as you started clapping. Emily grunted as she tried to pull her arms out of the tight wrap she was in. When she managed to get her hands through the top, she started clapping too.
"That was so good!" you cheered.
"Thank you," Baby murmured, bowing her head.
"That was quite lovely," Ballora hummed a comment, her tone alone able to portray how much she enjoyed it.
"(Y/N), can you come in here for a second?" you heard James call for you.
"Yeah!" you called back as you stood up. "Give me a minute, Emily. Why don't you guys entertain her while I'm gone."
"Let's play, Emily!" Freddy blurted as he lifted her up.
He unwrapped the blanket from around her and put her on his back. Wires wrapped around her to ensure she couldn't fall off. Freddy lifted up to the ceiling and swung across the living room, making Emily squeal and laugh. As you followed them out, you saw him quickly carry her up the stairs and around the corner.
"What's up?" you asked as you walked into the kitchen.
"I need you to show Savannah something," James requested. "She doesn't get what I'm trying to tell her."
"What do you want me to show her?" You sat down at one of the chairs at the island.
"One of your . . . 'abilities.' "
You hummed, thinking about it for a second. There was only one "ability" that you knew you could still do.
"Well, okay . . . Now you see me . . ."
Savannah's eyes widened as you disappeared in front of her. She stared down as she reflected on what James had told her.
"So, where'd she go?" Savannah wondered as she glanced around.
"I'm here," you replied as you let her see you again, "I just went invisible. I can choose who can see me and who can't. I'm a poltergeist."
Savannah raised an eyebrow. "How'd you die?"
"I, uh--" You glanced to James as you scratched the back of your neck--"I'd rather not talk about that."
"Oh--"
"I'm not interrupting, am I?" Baby muttered as she paused in the entryway.
"You can come on in," you assured her.
"Where's Emily?" Savannah wondered, somewhat worried.
Before you could tell her, her and Freddy swung into the kitchen and zoomed past everyone, then left through the back entrance. As it was just a laughing blur passing, it took everyone a second to register what it was.
"What were they doing?" Savannah worried, trying to look around the corner.
"Freddy's giving Emily a piggyback ride throughout the house. Don't worry, though, he'll make sure not to drop her or hit something. He's got pretty good spatial awareness."
"Well . . . Emily needs to be getting to bed soon."
"I do too. I can get Freddy, if you'd like."
"If you don't mind."
"Not at all." You turned around and looked around, humming. "Freddy!"
You stepped out into the stairway, then called his name again. A second later, Freddy swung around the corner, then launched himself and Emily down the stairs towards you.
"Jesus fucking, christ!" you yelped, jumping back.
As Freddy landed gently at the bottom, his eyes widened and his grin fell. He put his hands over his mouth as Emily looked around his head.
"(Y/N), you said a very bad word in front of Emily," Freddy whispered, making you slap your hand over your mouth.
"It's okay. She says it all the time, but I know that I shouldn't," Emily stated.
"What?" You raised an eyebrow. "When do I say it in front of you?"
"Usually when something bad happens, or when you drop something."
"Shit," you huffed under your breath, quiet enough so she wouldn't hear it. "I guess it's a habit. Er- Anyway, we've got to be getting to bed, Emily."
"What? But I've been sleeping all day," Emily whined, resting her head on Freddy's shoulder.
"Hey, don't try to convince me, I'm just the messenger." You shrugged your shoulders and put your hands up.
"Momma--"
"You're sick, Emily. You need all the sleep you can get," Savannah's reply made Emily stick out her bottom lip.
"O-kay," Emily sighed in defeat.
"Hey, why don't Freddy and I tuck you in?" you suggested, trying to cheer her up.
"Yeah!" she cheered.
Freddy laughed as he put his arms under you and lifted you up. With you in his arms and Emily on his back, he climbed up the stairs. As Emily gave you a look of disbelief, you shrugged your shoulders.
"Where's her bed?" Freddy wondered, his head whipping side to side.
You pointed to the butterfly-decorated door down the hall, and he swung over to it. He opened the door, setting you down inside the room, then moved over to the bed. He gently lifted Emily off his back, then pulled the blankets down and gently set her down.
"Good night, Emmy," you murmured as you walked up beside her.
"Good night, (Y/N)," Emily hummed, curling up as Freddy pulled the covers over her.
"Nighty night!" Freddy whispered loudly.
"Night," Foxy added.
"Good night, dear," Ballora cooed.
Emily smiled and giggled. "Good night . . . Um, maybe you guys can tuck (Y/N) in . . . for me?"
Freddy gasped as he looked over at you. "Yeah!"
"Sleep tight, Emmy."
You booped her nose as you turned on her bedside light. She watched as you headed back towards the door, gesturing for Freddy to follow you. You turned off the light and gave her a small wave, before stepping out into the hall. After making sure Freddy had gotten all his wires out, you gently shut the door.
"Now your turn!" Freddy squealed as he lifted you up.
Before you could object, he carried you over to the guest bedroom--having remembered where it was from before. He opened the door, went in, then shut it behind you. You rolled your eyes playfully as he set you under the covers and pulled them over you.
"Good night, (Y/N)," he whispered, booping your nose.
"Thank you, Freddy . . . but I need to go change and brush my teeth real quick," you admitted nervously, pushing the covers off you and sitting up.
"Oh . . ."
"Aren't all your things still at the pizzeria?" Foxy brought up, making you furrow your eyebrows.
"Right."
You fell back down, pulling the covers back over you. A knock on the door made you and Freddy look over. It slowly creaked open, and Baby peeked around the corner.
"Oh, here you guys are," Baby hummed as she rolled into the room and shut the door behind her.
"(Y/N)'s going to sleep," Freddy whispered.
"I heard." Baby nodded, rolling over to turn around and stand in the corner. ". . . Tonight was fun."
"It was!" Freddy exclaimed, excitedly glancing to Baby, then you. "Did you have fun, (Y/N)?"
"Yeah, I did," you chuckled.
"Do you think they liked us?" Baby wondered, slightly worried.
"Of course they did! I know Emily loved you guys! And Savannah will eventually warm up to you. She just doesn't understand how you're real, exactly." You looked down, eyebrows stitching together, and mumbled, "I'm still not exactly sure."
Baby thought for a second, then nodded her head hesitantly. You breathed out a sigh, getting comfy. Molten Freddy crawled over you onto the bed. You looked back, to see Foxy slither under the covers beside you.
"What are you doing?" you asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I--"
"Foxy was gonna cuddle up to you," Freddy interrupted him, snickering.
"Shut the fuck up, Freddy! No I wasn't," Foxy snapped.
"I mean, we're dating now, so I'm cool with it. Come here--" You pulled him down to you.
"Fucking--"
He shut up and tensed up as you nuzzled your head against his chest. You patted his back, gesturing for him to relax. He huffed and looked over as he started to get comfy. He wrapped his arms around your lower back.
"Hey, if you could turn the lights off maybe?" you mumbled sheepishly.
Baby was about to go over, when one of Molten Freddy's wires reached across the room and flipped the switch. The glow of the animatronics' eyes allowed you to see some as the room was surrounded in pitch black. The wire that had turned off the lights came back and curled around your back and shoulder. You assumed it was Freddy's--and after it poked your cheek, you were assured that your assumption was correct.
"Good night, guys," you yawned, cuddling up against Foxy.
You got an assortment of "good night"s from everyone but Foxy. After everyone had gone quiet, Foxy mumbled his own "good night"--finished with an "or whatever"--under his breath. You rolled your eyes, then closed them and sighed.

The door creaked open, drawing the animatronics' attention to it. Emily's eyes widened and she glanced to them nervously as they looked at her. Freddy gasped, about to squeal her name, when Foxy and Ballora stopped him, reminding him that you were still asleep.
"Hello, dear. Did you need something?" Ballora wondered, her voice gentle and quiet enough to not wake you.
"Papa was about to go to work. Should we wake up (Y/N) so she can go too, or does she want to stay?" Emily replied, yawning lightly.
"I'll ask." Foxy lightly tapped your back a few time. "(Y/N). Wakey wakey."
Your eyes fluttered as you started to stir. "Huh?"
"Do you want to go back to the pizzeria now, or do you want to get some more sleep?"
"Ugh . . . What time is it?"
"Uhhh--"Foxy reached a wire over to the bedside table and lifted the alarm clock to see it--"11:30? Isn't that an hour past opening?"
"11:30 is--technically 11--but it's actually 9:30," you told him, sitting up and stretching.
"Why is it two hours ahead?"
"To get me up faster. If I wake up and see that I'm late, I'll try to rush to get ready. It usually takes me a couple minutes to remember that it's ahead, but by then I've already gotten up and am at least half-way ready," you explained, scooting over to get out of bed.
". . . That makes sense, I guess."
As you looked up and saw Emily, you grinned, and she smiled back. "What are you doing, Emmy?"
"She was coming in here to tell us James was about to leave," Baby answered.
"Yeah. Papa was getting ready to go, so I came in here for him."
Emily ran over to hug you. You stood and lifted her up, hugging her back. As she leaned back some, you looked up to her.
"Well, thank you, Emmy. You should be in bed getting your rest, though."
Her shoulders slumped. "But I've been doing nothing but resting for days."
"Hmm. You can go sit on the couch downstairs, then."
Emily smiled and nodded as you started for the door. You knew she would end up falling asleep on the couch.
Molten Freddy and Baby followed you. Freddy opened the door for you as you got to it. You carefully made your way down the stairs, where you met James.
"Oh, hey. I was about to go up and wake you," James mumbled, backing down to the bottom of the stairs so you could get off them safely.
"Yeah, Emmy here did that for you," you told him, lightly pinching her cheek.
"Emily. You were supposed to be resting in bed," James scolded her.
"Well, she's been resting for days, so I'm letting her sit down here on the couch." You winked discreetly.
"Oh." He got the hint. "I guess you're right. Make sure to tell Mama so she doesn't get after you too."
"I'll go ahead and take her into the living room. I'm pretty much ready, so when you are, we can go."
"I'm ready. I'll go start the truck."
"We'll meet you out there."
James nodded, before turning back, heading into the living room. You followed after him, shuffling over to the couch and around it. You set Emily down on the cushions, making sure she was okay.
"I'll see you later, okay?" You ruffled her hair lightly.
"Bye-bye, Emily!" Freddy exclaimed, mimicking you and ruffling her hair.
Emily chuckled, trying to lean away from the assault. "Wait, will I get to see you guys again?"
Emily looked between Molten Freddy and Baby, and they looked at you. Your eyes widened, and you nodded.
"Of course you will!" you assured everyone.
"Yay! We will!" Freddy cheered, rubbing Emily's head again.
"Hey, quit it!" she laughed.
"Come on, guys. We need to get going."
You ushered the animatronics towards the door. You and the others waved to Emily before you left into the garage. James rolled his window down some.
"You guys ready to go?"
"Yeah, let's hurry up, though. That way we don't have to rush to get the chairs set up."
"Michael ordered new ones, remember? They should be there by now."
"Oh, right."
