Sharanya's Point of View

"Grandma, I am going now. See you later!" I said aloud, walking from the front door.

"Okay. Stay safe!" She said while holding Nawab with her both hands, close to her chest.

"Yeah..." I ran towards the bus stop, not being sureed, whether she had abled to hear my voice or not.

I was lucky to get a bus just when I reached to the bus-stop. Getting into it, I sat on the front seat, beside the window. It was closed due to the coldness; but I was enjoying the scenario of the outside world fully. My mood was light and happy; thinking about the the plan I was smirking, devilishly. Patting on the backpack I was thinking about the later consequences.

He can't escape it! No man can!

I was beaming brightly, picturing my victory in near future. The head would love me after completing my assignment successfully.

After a while, about 20 minutes later my destination came and I got down from the bus. It started it's engine after my leaving. Today, I got down directly in front of my office building. It was 10 o'clock of morning, a beautiful, Sunny day of Derahdun. Everything seemed brighter than usual; might be an indication of my success.

I am gonna win!

Holding my backpack I came inside the office. Vyom was supposed to talk with the head about the supervisor, with whom we were going meet today. Reaching to the staircase I climbed faster on it to reach to my cabin, which was on the first floor.

Almost 2 minutes later I came in front of the door.

'LOCAL NEWS SECTION'

It was labelled with it, which made me irritated in every way.

I am going to get my 'Crime Reporter Branch' soon!

Grabbing the doorknob I pulled the door. Vyom was not here as I had expected. Instead of him, I found a young woman holding a red file with her left hand. Other hand was occupied with flipping the pages of it. She was not more than 30, I assumed.

Her pastel green salwar suit was going well with her slightly dusty skin complexion. Her curly hair was tightly bunned on her head, few bangs were falling from the front hairline. From her regular lenses her dark brown eyes were showing sincerity for her work. She was standing beside my desk.

I came directly in front her. Sensing my presence she lifted her face towards me. With a small smile she greeted me.

"Good morning! You are Sharanya Bisht, I suppose." Her feminine tone caught my attention. She had beautiful voice. She extended her hand for a handshake.

"Yes, Good morning! But, I couldn't recognize you." I said smilingly, confusingly holding her hand for the greeting. We took away our hands after the moment.

"I am your supervisor, Suman Gupta. Nice to meet you, Sharanya!" She said smilingly. I freeze on my spot.

Suman...

I was lost in the thoughts of one of the dearest persons of my life, Mom.

They share the same name...

"Sharanya, are you Okay?" She looked at me a bit worryingly. I came back to my senses before smiling at her direction.

"I am fine, ma'am!" I said. She nodded her head with an agreement.

"So, have you heard about your assignment, right?' She asked and I nodded my head.

"I with my co worker, Vyom had visited him, yesterday. But, he didn't agree for it." I said; she sighed deeply.

"Expected. I suppose; he will not. I am not here to disappoint you, Sharanya. But, it's really difficult. Our other workers had tried it from 2 years. He didn't agree." Hearing her out I understood Vyom's worry about this assignment.

Vyom is insightful, his intuition is no joke!

"Don't worry ma'am, I am not going give up so soon!" I said smiling with determination. She nodded her head.

"Okay then, get back to your work." She said walking to the door of her cabin. I sat on my chair proceeding a few work which I needed to finish before going according to my plan.

°°°°°°°°°°

Putting the last touch on my lips with my red lipstick I put it into my backpack. I looked at my red outfit once again on the washroom mirror before taking my backpack. Red, knee-length frock, with a not-so deep neckline,  three-quarter length sleeves, loosened my straight, black hair on my shoulders, I was looking professional, yet stunning in it. I did a bit make up with the contrast with it, not so heavy not too light, just perfect.

Giving a last glance I left the office washroom. It was 11:30 o'clock. I needed to go to my destination soon; as I didn't have much time. He had classes from 12:30 onwards. Before it I needed to finish my work.

Walking out from the washroom I nearly collided with Vyom who was typing something on his phone; didn't notice my presence. Lifting his head he said.

"Sorry, I.. Sharanya!?" His eyes were observing me from head to toe, with his confusing eyes he looked at my eyes finally.

"What are you upto?" His voice made me sure of his worries about my action.

"Oh, nothing! It's for my assignment." I said causing patting my left hand on my hair.

"Sharanya, tell me the truth! Are you going for another crazy idea of yours?" Vyom said looking at me with his hopeless stare.

"Don't worry, just trust me!" I smiled before walked out from him.

"Shit, she and her crazy idea!" I heard his murmurs and rolled my eyes on it.

Come on, Vyom! Get some fun in your life!

Not worring about too much I left the office building in hurry.

°°°°°°°°°°°°

My heels were giving me difficulties on this stonic road of the university. I was looking at those with a great irritation on my face.

"Augh! I am doing this much hardwork just for you, Mr. Krish Khanna. You better fall for my charm!" I murmured lowly, heading towards the entrance of the building.

Yes, this much grooming was just to impress him with my charm and beauty. In layman's terms I was going to seduce him. He was also a man; a woman's charm could never fail to trap a man. He would also be the same.

I am sure, it will work!

I had already informed the principal of my arrival to him. He had agreed and gave me the time schedule of him of the whole week. Hence, it would not be a problem later. I smirked while thinking about the whole conversation.

Men will be men and I will prove it again!

Meanwhile, thinking about the situation I reached the office of him and knocked it with my left hand.

"Come in." His husky voice reached to my ears and I stepped into the room.

He was standing near the table, leading his weight on the chair; wearing his black outfit, he was holding a book on his left hand. His right hand was occupied with another paper. His back was facing me; but I could see his every feature very well.

"So, Ms. Bisht, how can I help you today?" With his manly, husky voice he said turning his face towards me.

His bangs were falling on his forehead, falling sunray coming from the window beside the bookshelf behind him, was making his face more attractive. I got speechless again by his beauty.

I was here to seduce him, but got tapped by his handsome features instead.

Shit!

"Ms. Bisht?" He raised his left eyebrow, looking at my eyes directly. His brown eyes were sparkling in the sunlight. My heartbeat got quicken slightly.

"Ms. Bisht, are you okay?" He stood up straight and approaching me slowly, coming towards me.

Snapped it out, Sharanya! SNAPPED. IT. OUT!

"Yes...I am completely fine!" I cleared my throat. He stopped just a few inches away. He nodded his head before going near his respective chair.

"Please sit." He offered and I obeyed him.

"So, what did bring you here?" He asked looking at his book. I took a deep breath before continuing the conversation.

"I am here to offer you that interview again. I hope; you have guessed it already!" I said smilingly looking at him, trying to put seductive charm into my voice. He didn't show any reaction from it. Thinking it as his silence permission for continuing my speech I began to talk again.

"As you see, with the help of this interview you can gain a huge fanbase; a popularity, a fame. You can become an influencer; can promote social welfare; can address the needs of the common masses! It's a lifetime opportunity for you! In my opinion, you shouldn't miss it." I said explaining my view to him, looking at his face. He was still looking at his book, but not reading it. His eyeballs were not moving; as I could see.

But why is he not looking at me?

Look at me, man! I have become a sexy doll just for you! Come on!

"Mr. Khanna, just thing about it.." I got cut by his sudden statement.

"Am I your assignment?" He asked looking at my eyes directly. I froze on my spot.

How did he..

"What did you mean, Mr. Khanna?" I asked covering my shocked face.

"So, I am your new 'Assignment'. Nice, keep working!" He said smilingly. I got the vibes of his mockery again. It made my head boil.

"Excuse me Mr. Khanna, I am here to pursue you about the benefits of this interview and here you are mocking me with your words!? I am talking about your ultimate benefits! Can't you understand it? Your.." I stopped hearing his sudden chuckle. It was becoming louder gradually. I got complete confused.

"My benefit or your? I never asked for your help for my popularity, Ms. Bisht. It's souly yours! As the fact is; I never asked for popularity. I am doing fine here, like this!" He said between his chuckle.

"Exactly my point, why don't you want it? Any person likes fame! Then, why not you?" I said confusingly, with the mixture of anger.

"Because Ms. Bisht, not eveyone likes fame! People are different. You will never understand; afterall you all are nothing but selfish reporters, who know nothing, but T.R.P!" His smrik got deeper and darker. I froze on my spot; grasping the statement he said.

He just insulted our profession. My anger turned into rage; but I didn't show it on my face. This person hated our profession, our community. I could do nothing but leaving this assignment permanently, here.

"Sorry, for disturbing you Mr. Khanna. But don't insult my profession like this! May be we are here only for benefit of our own, for our occupation. But haven't you ever done anything to get benefit for you or your students as a teacher, in your life?" I said weighting my voice. His smirk got shorter. I stood up from the chair.

"Think about it once, when you get your quality time! Have a good day, Mr. Khanna." Giving a last glance to his newly frowned face, I got out from his office room as soon as possible.

Just like I have though before, not every pretty face has a pretty heart! He is the newly proven example.

My plan failed miserably...

°°°°°°°°°°°°°

"But Sir, he is not understanding it. What to do?" I pleaded to the head of the department. He was furious at this point.

"I don't want any excuse, Sharanya! Do or die; you have only one month for it! If you hadn't done it, be ready to say goodbye to this organisation permanently! I have already seen your progress report of Kalkata branch; none will accept you as his/her employee with it. Be careful! Now get out from my cabin!" Saying it aloud he signalled me to go out from here, by waving his left hand. He turned his focus on his yellow file again.

Sighing deeply I left the room and came near the cabin. Vyom looked and petted my both shoulders. Ms. Gupta looked at me pitifully before going inside the head's room with a pile of file. After coming from the university yesterday, I took the courage for a whole day and I told my head about it today; as he was out for field visits yesterday.

I rested my head on my both hands, looking at my table, my breath was heavy, vision blurry. The transfer procedure paper was still on my table. We had come here just three days ago. Now this was happening.

What to do now?

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

The Sun was setting in the West, spreading it's yellowish-red rays over the clear sky. I was walking on the footpath, watching it with my gloomy eyes. Instead of giving joy, this sky was marking a symbol of my near dark future. Just yesterday morning I was being happy, seeing the natural beauty and now I felt helpless over it; couldn't find happiness from it.

What a turn of tale!

I didn't know what to do next. Working in this organisation was seemingly impossible for me now. Mr. Krish Khanna was not going to say 'yes' to our offer; from yesterday's meeting I could assure it clearly.

"Should I take Vyom's words seriously? Should I begin to find jobs?" I murmured lowly looking at the road.

The food-stalls were opening now, students from the near college campus were roaming around the streets. I was standing at the shelter of the bus-stop, waiting for the bus. My phone was on my left hand with many misscalls from Vyom and Shivani, especially from Shivani. I didn't pick any of it.

Meanwhile, the bus reached and I got up into it. Getting a seat beside the window I plugged my headphones into my ears and began the music with the engine of the bus.

I was feeling lost. The music was soothing me a bit. It took 20 minutes to reach my destination. Getting down from the bus I started walking on the alley, the way to my home. Sky was getting darker, birds were returning to their nests. Everyone was returning from their jobs; as I could see a few people on the alley road. Within a few minutes I reached the doorstep of my house and entered into it with the other key which I always kept with me.

"You came! Need some snacks?" Grandma's voice reached into my ears from the dinning room.

"I don't want to eat. Not hungry." I replied while coming towards the staircase.

Lie.

"Have you eaten something from outside, again?" She asked.

"Yes." I replied, climbing on it.

Another lie.

"Okay." I heard her voice before closing my bedroom door behind.

It took 1 hour to change and got freshen up. Sitting on my bed covering a blanket on my body I plugged my headphones again. It was nearly 7:30 of evening and I was not intended to do anything but laying on the bed.

Thinking about the whole day I was listening to the music which was playing on the phone.

"....who know nothing, but T.R.P!..."

He was not wrong as it was our job. But, disrespectful towards another's profession was not something to be proud of.

He is being plain rude and arrogant!

°°°°°°°°°

"Yes I am fine. It's the 10th time I am saying it, Shivani!" I said holding my blanket upto my waist. I heard her deep sigh from the other side of the phone.

"Okay... Be on time at office. We will find some solution together. Okay! See you." She said waiting for my reply.

"Yeah. See you!" Cutting the call I put the phone in front of me, on the bed.

It was morning 7:30. Falling Sunlight was brightened the room, beautifully. But, I was not in my mind to feel this beauty.

Should I give my registration this week or next week?

It was the last thing I was thinking since yesterday night that caused sleep deprivation, which I could in my every bone now.

I am tired...

Giving a last shot for Shivani, I thought for a while and got up from the bed.

Around 9 o'clock I left the house to reach the bus-stop. Grandma and Nawab were eating when I came to dinning room. She didn't say anything to me particular apart from Nawab's daily routine.

For which I was thankful!

It took another 30 minutes to reach the market, beside the office, when I got down from the bus. I was walking on the road looking at the surroundings. I didn't have any interest to visit office, today.

But, it's not on me!

Suddenly a vibration from my phone snapped my attention out from the pool of thoughts.

Must be Vyom.

I took the phone out after coming to a safe side of the footpath and looked at the screen. An SMS was showing.

It's unusual...

Normally the useless SMS on this number had been blocked from the company and people usually texted me on WhatsApp nowadays.

Is it from bank?

I opened the phone lock and looked into the message application of the phone.

'Meet me within 10:30am, today.' - Mr. Krish Khanna.

I freezed on my spot; eyes popped up looking at the message.

What's now?

°°°°°°°°°°°°°

Knocking twice on the door I got the permission to enter inside his office. He was sitting on his usual chair, holding a book in his left hand. In his usual black outfits he was looking attractive as always. But this time it didn't get me.

I am still mad at his last meeting's behaviour!

"Yes Mr. Khanna, why did you ask for my presence here, suddenly?" I said looking at him, standing just in front of his table. He lifted his face at me with a jolt after sensing my presence. His lips curled up into a smirk. I became alert and confused. It wasn't a good sign.

What's he upto now?

"Please sit, Ms. Bisht." He said still smirking.

"No, first tell me the reason!" I said in my hard voice. His smirk got deeper.

"Okay as you wish!" He said while getting up from his chair.

I didn't take away my eyes from him even for a second.

"I am ready to take your offer. I am agreeing for the interview, Ms. Bisht!" He said making my jew dropped. My eyes got wider after hearing his words.

What? Why so suddenly? How?

"But..." He looked at my eyes directly. I was silent, looking at him as well. His brown eyes were observing mine.

"...in one condition." He paused; I was waiting for his next words with bated breath.

"You have to work for me as my personal assistant, for next one month!"
