Chapter Twenty Three: Learning More Secrets

Harry landed hard on his feet when he opened his eyes. His pupils had just become accustomed to the darkness when a sudden flash of light accompanied the change of scenery. He felt a hand grip his arm tightly.

They were no longer in the marble mid vault. They were now witnessing a scene of olden English land where flowers bloomed all around and the sky was bright and void of clouds.

"W-where are we?" Ginny's voice asked, shaking slightly.

"Their memories. . . inside their memories."

A young, tall man with brown hair to his side stood on one knee with a velvet box in his hand, facing a beautiful woman with golden yellow hair. "Thou art beauty. Marry me?"

"Yes!" the woman shrieked and Harry and Ginny turned away when the newly engaged couple kissed. They felt their feet float again and darkness enveloped them before another scene flashed.

They were in a royally decorated room with the same couple from before. The couple were whispering lowly to each other. That was when Harry noticed a slight bump in the woman's belly.

"They are going to have a child," Ginny whispered beside him. Before Harry could respond, a lamp beside his head shattered, breaking into several million pieces. Ginny shrieked and pulled her to him, examining his head for any tiny fragments of glass. Harry freed himself from her when he saw the man's eyes widen.

For a moment, Harry thought they had seen them but his thoughts were proved wrong when Godric looked back at his wife, Giselle.

"Do thou thinks 'tis –"

"Methinks the same, husband mine. My powers art going out of hands."

"That canst be."

"Emotions rule over actions, my love. What do we do?"

"Try to lower them, m'lady."

Harry and Ginny looked at each other when the scene shifted again. This time, another person entered the scene.

"Thou shalt die, Gryffindor!" a man with silver-blonde, shoulder-length hair shouted at Godric.

"Salazar, methinks a fight 'snt necessary!" Giselle tried. Her baby bump was quite visible this time.

"Hush, Lady! I need nay of thine suggestions!" Salazar shouted back.

"Thou darest talk rudely to my lady wife!" Godric piped up. Salazar pointed his wand at him with a quick slash. As he did, something gold swung forwards. It was a locket, Harry noted, which looked pretty expensive and familiar. Godric withdrew a sword which looked familiar once again to Harry. It was encrusted with rubies and shone brightly.

"No! NO!" Giselle shouted, but the two men paid her no ear as they started duelling each other. Salazar shot spell after spell at the brown-haired man who deflected them with his magnificent sword.

Ginny gasped as Salazar shouted the deadliest curse known to wizardkind: the killing curse, Avada Kedavra.

Godric raised his hand and a brick wall formed in the blink of an eye. The wall was destroyed just as soon as it materialized.

Salazar did not back down. His constant firing of spells made it difficult for Godric to deflect as well as fight back.

Suddenly, darkness loomed over and the weather changed to stormy. Harry and Ginny looked up to find storm bearing clouds overhead. They looked at Giselle just in time to see a dark, black aura surround her.

Both Godric and Salazar looked stunned, having forgotten about their duel momentarily as Lady Gryffindor's hand bore a black ball. Its aura radiated as she launched it at a wide-eyed Salazar.

"NO!" Godric shouted, but it was too late. The ball of energy had hit the founder of Slytherin, causing him to disintegrate into ashes. Not even a single organ was visible of him, but something else glimmered weakly in that pile of ashes. Harry squinted his eyes and saw the same locket which Salazar was wearing. However, this time it had a dent in the gemstone.

Harry felt his knees go weak. What if he had really lost control and touched Ginny with that energy ball? He couldn't even bear the thought of it but was saved from further thoughts because of Giselle collapsing to the ground. Godric ran over to his wife.

"G-Godric . . . " she said weakly as Godric held her hand, unshed tears in his eyes.

"Why did thou do that?"

"I-I l-lost c-con-control when h-he tri-tried t-to k-kill th-thee," she stuttered lowly. Godric shook his head vigorously. "M-my apo-apology, h-husband mine. I-I m-may l-leave t-thee s-s-soon."

"No! Don't say that, love!"

"I-I l-love t-thou, G-Godric."

Ginny gripped his hand even tighter as Godric let out another ear-piercing scream. Giselle had moved on to the next great adventure.

Harry was frozen in shock. The powers vested in his hands were no ordinary ones. Giselle's killed three people: Salazar Slytherin, herself and her unborn baby.

The scene turned dark again and changed to a room. Godric was all alone but he was looking at them.

"Dear future Witch and Wizard of Destruction and Creation. I'm sorry. 'Tis power which thou have 'tis ultimately harmful to anyone and everyone near thee if thou were to lose control over thyself. Thou must have seen it in my memories encased before.

"'Tis killed my bosom pal, my lady wife and my unborn child. I warn thou thus. Control thine power. 'Tis completely possible only if thou trust each other with thine full heart. Let there be no undisclosed secrets among thyselves. Methinks 'tis the only path.

"Together, thou both are invincible. There will be ain't obstacle with thine power. Live as long as thou can, for methinks 'tis tough with the powers. I am to leave this cruel world soon. I 'ope I helped thou. Adieu."

That was all Harry saw, for the world seemed to shrink into darkness. The feel of Ginny's hands on his was the only real thing in the world to him then.

_____________

"O! Husband mine, methinks thine art coming back," Giselle exclaimed suddenly. Godric stretched lightly then got up from the seat, pulling her up along with him.

"Then 'tis is adieu, m'lady. I hope thine art satisfied with the answers," Godric said, looking directly into Giselle's green eyes. She smiled softly before they leaned in and met each other's foreign lips. Hands gripped at their sides, they withdrew and leant their foreheads on each other's. They stared contently into the other's eyes with small, melancholic smiles on their faces.

"I love thee, Godric."

"I love thee the most, m'lady."

They closed their eyes and a warm feeling coursed through their bodies. A bright light surrounded them and they were gone, forever.

_______________

A warm feeling coursed through him and he felt his hands full. Harry fluttered open his eyes and met Ginny's brown ones which she had just opened.

They blushed deeply when they felt the pose they were apparently standing in: hands locked, Harry's one hand on her waist and their foreheads against each other. Ginny quickly backed away, waving his arm away from her and blushing a scarlet red.

"What did thy think?!" she shrieked, then closed her mouth with her hands as if she had just stated a taboo word.

"What?" Harry asked. He felt different than he was accustomed to.

"What did I just talk?"

"M'lady, have thou –" Harry stopped himself, looking thoroughly confused. "What's gone wrong in us?"

"I wish I knew, my Lord," Ginny blurted out, then slapped herself on the forehead. "Why am I addressing thou as –" she stopped herself before she could say more and Harry found this bizarre scene amusing. "Let us ask Master."

Harry nodded. "We are yet to see of the room on the right, m'lady," Harry said. Ginny shrugged then led him out of the room and into the room on the right. That room blinded them.

"What, art these jewels ours?" Ginny asked in surprise. The room was filled to the brim with glittering gold, shiny silver and several more valuables which Harry couldn't estimate the price of.

"Methinks yes, m'lady. We know the sooth, Lord and Lady Gryffindor did not have a child." Ginny nodded lowly. "Let us get out of here for the time being."

They left the vault, with their hoods on, and the doors closed behind them. The tall man was standing there patiently. Harry nodded and he nodded back. With that, the trio left the bank and Diagon Alley itself after another heart-stopping ride and Apparition.

The last chapter with Godric and Giselle! I hope it lived up to your expectations. On a side note, I would like to say that none of the events of the past are canon. They are completely made up and so is Giselle.

Thank you for reading!
