Chapter Forty Two: Watching the Suspicious

When Molly entered the kitchen, her twins talked in unison.

"Mum! Y'know something about them, don't you?"

Molly was not startled. Her twins always talked in unison, especially if they were nervous.

"Them? Them, who?" She pretended as if she didn't know.

"Harry and our sister of course!" George hissed, looking at the door and to see if any non-Weasleys were hearing. Percy looked up sharply and Charlie spat out his tea. However, Bill had an amused expression.

"Oh. . . Look George – or Fred–" she ammended herself.

"We are serious mum! Spit it out!" Fred urged. For once, Molly was surprised by the twins; they were never serious.

"What I mean is. . . Harry is a good lad–"

"Who fires unforgivables at every word a Death Eater utters? What if he does the same thing to his friends and our Ginny?" Percy asked stiffly. Charlie nodded reluctantly.

"He seems more like a double agent to me," the dragon tamer added.

"We don't know what past he went through," Bill put in. "but he was ready to give up his mask of double agency when Ginny was – t-tortured by Bellatrix." They shuddered at the memory.

"How do you know if he meant it? What if he was only doing it so that Bellatrix won't get her head cut off by Voldemort?" Percy asked with a smug expression.

"I am a curse breaker, Perce. When I can see what runes feel, how can I not see how humans feel?" Bill asked in a matter-of-fact tone. Charlie shrugged.

"Whatever you say, I still will keep an eye on him."

"Although I would restrict you," Molly started. "I think we should keep an eye on what they are doing. Albus just wouldn't have left her without giving some or the other training task. I see a lot of books lying in her place and I'm sure they aren't Hermione's."

"That prophecy –" It was the first time Arthur spoke, acknowledging his presence.

"Is the reason, yes," Bill completed somberly. The rest of the breakfast was dull.

"So you mean the objects in the fairytale is the ones we must destroy?"

It was really sunny outside and hence, the pair of discussing teens were perspiring even under the shade of a tree.

"Yes."

"Seriously?"

"I am not Sirius but yes. That's what I think."

"Where am I supposed to find a rock which can bring back the d-dead?"

Ginny shrugged helplessly and Harry sighed. This mystery was proving to be harder than the Horcruxes.

"What if Master left the rock and his wand to us in that box?" Ginny suggested. Harry nodded unsure about the answer. "Harry, we must find the word to open the damned box! It will lead us to more clues or perhaps, the answer itself! Hand me the box!"

Harry took out the box from the moleskin pouch around his neck and handed it to her. She read and re-read the article several times before talking.

"Death."

Harry scratched his head; the box did not open. Ginny snorted.

"How about the wand of Elder? Deathstick? Wand of Destiny? Resurrection Stone? Invisibility Cloak? Oh, come on seriously!" Ginny shouted at the still box. Harry laughed out loud at her antics. She glared at him. "If it's that funny, Mister, you could do it yourself! I'm only doing this because I am supposedly supposed to help you. I'd rather get to know my family better than sit with a madman with a ruddy box!" She turned away from Harry and the box and with crossed limbs, looked at the orchard beyond. It was Harry's turn to sigh.

"C'mon dear, I need your help. . .?"

"Are we some old married couple?"

"Seeing that we are not even a couple, no."

"Well then. Good-bye. I'll invite you, my fellow champion, to my wedding, a few years hence!" And Ginny got up. Harry did an hopeless action with his hands and stood up as well.

"What's with you and your temper today? What did I do?" he asked, his voice fluctuating.

"Oh, it's because of your existence that I have to solve an ancient riddle!"

"Why'd you cry over me when I d-died then?" Harry teased as she started moving towards the topsy turvy house.

"I hate you!"

"Oh, but I love you, my other half!"

"I'm sorry?" This was a foreign voice and the bickering couple froze on their spot. They turned around, quite dramatically, to find themselves face to face with a pale looking Charlie Weasley. "You love her?! After she just confessed her hatred for you? And what on hell is that other half?!"

Ginny's expression turned to a sneer. She purposefully created a ring on her left hand which shone brightly, throwing naughty little beams around because of its glint in the sunlight. As she expected, it caught the Gryffindor Seeker's eye.

"What's that on your hand, Ginevra?!"

Ginny frowned. "Don't call me Ginevra!" But Charlie was not paying her attention. Instead he was inspecting the ring on her hand then suddenly turned to Harry.

"A-are y-you b-both–" Charlie stuttered, losing his mind already after seeing another created ring on Harry's pale and bony finger.

"Wait, what? Ginny!" Harry shouted at her after he realized what had really happened. He sharply turned to the Weasley brother. "No, no, no! This – this isn't what you think! She created it! I don't –"

"Oh shut it," Ginny cut his stuttering.

"She can't create things out of thin air like that! Especially valuable metals! It's one of the exceptions of Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration!" Charlie reasoned, glaring daggers at a frowning Harry, who was not the least intimidated.

"Oh, she very well can!" Harry retorted back before hitting his head. Ginny burst out laughing, clinging onto her brother for support. Charlie stood perplexed as Harry swore repeatedly under his breath. "Ginny, you little minx!"

"Oi!"

"Let's calm down, shall we?" Ginny interrupted her brother. "It was a ploy, okay? I think we need help and Charlie can be the best man for that, won't you be, dear brother?"

Charlie eyed Harry suspiciously before nodding lightly. "Tell me, are you both. . . y'know, m-married?" he asked in a hushed tone, looking around to see if someone was eavesdropping.

Harry turned beet red; the first time he had been so coloured in his entire life. "Wha – no! This witch did it!"

"I did what? You were the one who proposed the idea of getting married," Ginny said innocently. Charlie's eyes narrowed again.

"Hey, seriously Ginny! What did I even do to you to deserve this? Protego!" Harry cast a quick and non-verbal shield when Charlie made to point his wand at the former. "Fine, fine! I'm sorry!"

"For?" Ginny asked, looking at her nails smugly.

"Teasing you!"

"You teased my baby sister?"

"Gin!"

"It was a prank to make the prat apologize, dear brother. We aren't even d-dating," Ginny said in a low tone.

"Oh."

"Yes."

"What was that about creating exceptions of Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration then?"

"We better sit down. It's going to take a long time," Ginny suggested as they made themselves comfortable under the same tree they were sitting below earlier. "Charlie, I am the Witch of Creation."

Sort of cliffhanger. I was a bit bored so I put in some pranks lol. Hope you liked it.

Thank you for reading!
