Chapter Forty Nine

Story: Moira
Chapter Forty Nine: One Final Time

Rain started pouring down upon the cracked earth, drenching the dried land like pouring water on a thick line of flame. Harry's tears mixed with the rain as it flowed down his cheek and dropped onto Ginny's pale face.

"She's gone. . . She's never coming back. . ." he whispered, mostly to himself but everyone heard him. There was not a single dry eye in the whole garden which was now, the aftermath of a deadly battlefield.

Harry felt extremely alone as if his heart had stopped working. Without its rapid beats, his body felt numb and silent. He was dying internally as he saw her face; he heard someone approach him and he wished it was Death who was coming to take him with his Ginny. He did not look up when a gentle hand patted his arm.

"Harry, she isn't dead."

Harry looked up sharply to see Hermione's face. Her hair was sticking to her face and she had a small smile on her face. Everyone gasped and Draco shouted at the brunette.

"Don't Hermione! Don't give us false hope!"

"I'm not!" Hermione retorted and turned to face the blonde boy who was paler than usual. Theo was struggling to hold the weights of Ron and Draco as they collapsed weakly into him. "I-I petrified her. . . I don't know if it worked but I hope it d-did. Harry, can you counter it, please? My hands are shaking."

Pointing his wand loosely at Ginny. He prayed to Moira that Ginny was still alive. Then he muttered the counter spell. "Ren–ahem. Rennervate!"

To say that it was a miracle would be an understatement. Ginny blinked her eyes and met Harry's teary green ones with sparkling curiosity. Shouts of joy and relief was heard and Hermione was tackled into hugs by all the Weasleys and Ginny's friends.

Harry quickly hugged the bushy haired witch and whispered in her ear. "Thank you so much, Hermione. I can't thank you enough for saving her. . ."

Hermione smiled and patted his shoulder. "She's not just your love. She's my sister, my best friend."

Harry smiled gratefully at her and Ginny cleared her throat.

"Can any human tell me what on hell is happening?" she asked, irritation laced in her voice. Ron hugged her.

"You – died! Harry – killed – Eaters – War – over – Harry –!" Ron stuttered through sobs as he squeezed Ginny.

"Ow! Ouch!" Ginny exclaimed as every single Weasley joined in, determined to squeeze her to death in their warm and relieved embrace. "Okay, okay! I understand it! I died, okay? Stop squashing me!"

When the Weasleys broke apart, Neville, Luna, Draco and Hermione hugged her. Ginny was rather relieved she did not have a long queue of friends. Suddenly, a loud rumble was heard and everyone took out their wands, pointing them at various directions and in awkward poses. Regulus, Draco and Harry rolled their eyes as Ron burst out laughing.

"What, can't a man feel hungry?" Sirius complained and everyone shot him a glare besides Ron who was laughing his head off. "I'm. . . sorry?"

"I'm sure you aren't. Get in and get refreshed. Although the kitchen isn't in the best of condition, I'm sure I can cook up something for you all," Molly offered before patting Charlie's bruised cheek and bustling into the house. Arthur sighed.

"We have work to do, Father," Percy reminded him as he nodded at the bodies of the Eaters. Arthur nodded.

"We'll go to the ministry and get some aurors to clear this off. Tell Molly we'll be back by dinner. Surely she won't be too happy with me," Arthur said before taking Percy's hand and Apparating away. Sirius swung an arm around Ron and led him inside. Regulus grabbed Theo's arm and did the same. Draco looked at his parents who smiled at him.

"You can stay here for a while, hun," Narcissa reassured and Draco grinned at them before they Apparated away. He winked at Harry before pushing Neville in. Luna and Hermione followed the boys and Harry turned to look at Ginny with sad eyes.

"I almost died the moment I lost you, Gin."

"I'm sorry. . ." Ginny whispered.

Harry pulled her into a hug and she returned it. "I'm sorry too. . . I realize now that I can't live without you and neither can you live without me. . ."

"It's okay, Harry. Everything is fine now. Ssh, don't cry. . ." Ginny whispered in his ears before pulling away and wiping his tears when it finally fell. She knew she was being the opposite of modest when Harry wiped her tears away too. She smiled before leaning in and giving him a searing kiss which washed everything away and left him dreamily for hours on end.

The dinner was a celebration of victory. Their world was at peace now with Bellatrix gone and half of the Death Eater dead. The others who escaped were left to the aurors to catch; Percy and Arthur made sure of it.

When everyone almost started on their meal, Ron raised the inevitable question.

"Harry! What the hell did you do out there?!" he shouted from across the table as his expression suddenly turned to shock. Harry looked confused for a second before realization dawned on his face which turned to a mask in an instant. Ginny tensed.

"I don't think we need to get that topic in now, do we, Ron?" Draco asked in a timid voice, hoping to divert everyone's attention. It did not help.

"Shut up, Draco! I want to know the answer. I have never seen him lose control like that. . ."

Sirius raised his eyebrows at Harry, probably recollecting the memory when he was tortured by his out-of-control godson for hiding the blood pact's secret.

Charlie locked eyes with Ginny who nodded lightly for him to start the explanation. He gulped before clearing his throat.

"Look everyone. Before we tell you something, you all must magically swear to not tell anyone about this and to keep this secret within this room. Will you do that?"

"But why should we do that?" Percy probed. "And how do you know whatever is going on with Harry when Ron himself doesn't know?"

"Everything has a reason to reveal itself, mate and those worthy of knowing it will only be getting it," Draco answered instead and took out his wand. Charlie did the same. They crossed their wands and looked at the others. The room fell silent for a whole minute before Arthur withdrew his wand and crossed it with the already crossed ones. Bill did the same, followed by the twins, Neville and Luna. Ron looked hesitant but when Regulus and Sirius volunteered, he followed them. After contemplating for a few more minutes, Molly and Percy joined in as well.

"I-it must be really important, right?" Hermione asked in a slow voice. Ginny nodded at her and she sighed. "It won't – you know, harm my parents who are muggles?"

"No, Hermione," Harry replied and she took his word for it and crossed her vine wand against a dozen ones.

"I swear to Harry Potter and Ginevra Weasley to keep everything we hear and see within this room. If I were to betray my word, let my magic bind itself within my veins," they chanted in unison. A small glow enveloped the crowd and dissipated.

"Okay. I trust each and everyone in this room. That's why I am letting you on this information. Get comfortable. It's going to be a rollercoaster of emotions," Harry said. Everyone took a seat as Harry cleared his throat.

"Ginny and I, we are the Witch and Wizard of Creation and Destruction."

If you noticed something, each time Harry and Ginny reveal about their powers, they only tell half like 'I am the Witch of Creation' but this time, they said it together. Ring any bells? Comment! I'd love to hear your theories lol.

This chapter was to commemorate Dan's birthday! Oh, I don't think it'll last till Harry's (or Neville's) birthday(s) :/

The penultimate chapter if you don't count an epilogue (yep, I spoiled it) is done!
