Abhira adjusted her dupatta pinning it to the side, her expression calm, the shimmery black Shalwar kameez glinted catching the light of the room. After curling her hair, she reached for the lipstick, her fingers trembled as she applied the final coat of the deep red lipstick. She pressed her lips together to spread the color evenly. A flutter of anticipation tickled her stomach and she leaned back to examine her reflection.

A wave of nervousness crashed over her and she bit her bottom lip. She exhaled softly, her fingers trembling slightly. She stood abruptly from her chair, her legs wobbled slightly, barely supporting her weight. She turned suddenly feeling light headed and blinked. Her legs felt slightly unsteady beneath her and she walked to the bed, stumbling.

She sat down and reached for the glass of cold water, her fingers trembled as she sipped the water. The cold water seemed to calm the anxiety that set her nerves on fire.

She took a deep breath, her shoulders relaxing slightly.

She stood on her feet, the nervousness forgotten, a few curls escaped from her high bun to frame her face and she walked to the dressing table and sat down on the chair.

She breathed deeply and reached out, holding a silver necklace up to her gaze. She stared at it for a while and clasped the necklace around her neck, the jewel felt cool against her skin and then she reached for the earrings, the piece of jewelery glinted catching the light of the room and she stood on her feet. A soft smile graced her lips and she twirled around, the shimmery outfit swirling around her.

Dolled up in a black shimmery Shalwar kameez and silver jewelery, she looked no less than a princess out from a fairytale. She walked to the bed and reached for the purse placed on the side table.

She gathered a few pens and bunch of papers, phone and tissues before stuffing them inside the purse. She zipped the purse and wore her flats.

She hurried out of the room, a mixture of nervousness and excitement flooding through her as she climbed down the flight of stairs, her dupatta swirling with each hurried step she took.

Are sambhal ker.

Abhira helted in her tracks as Abhir,s words reached her ears and turned, her excitement barely contained.

Theek hai.

Abhira said, her voice trembling with a mixture of nervousness and excitement as she rushed to the doorway, the sunlight bathed her form in a gentle glow and Abhira covered her eyes slightly to shield her eyes from the sunlight and moved through the driveway and stepped outside the house, the gates closed behind her and she opened the door of the car.

Hi madam.

Sameer, who was sitting on the driving seat called out, his voice soft yet teasing.

Abhira turned her head and looked at him and smacked his arm lightly.

Phir se chalu ho gaye tum?

She asked, her voice filled with mirth, her tension visibly easing and a fond smile graced her face.

Sameer laughed, the sound seemed to calm her slightly

Ab kya karein.... Adat se majboor jo hain.

Sameer said, a teasing glint dancing in his gaze.

She smiled gently, the anxiety clouding her judgment seemed to fade slightly.

Tensed ho?

He asked softly, a knowing glint dancing in his eyes.

She looked at him, a fresh wave of anxiety crashed over her and she shook her head managing a small smile.

Nahin.

She said, her voice barely above a whisper and she turned her head to look out.

Jhoti.

Sameer said with a knowing smile and reached out to hold her hand.

Abhira turned her head and looked at him shocked as he held her hand, the smile on his face was kind

He squeezed her hand gently.

Sab theek hoga.

He said softly.

Bas khud per bharosa rakho.

Abhira let out a smile at his kind words and nodded her head feeling the anxiety wash away.

Thank you.

She said softly and looked ahead, blinking her eyes before pulling her hand away.

Sameer,s smile faltered but his eyes remained kind. He shrugged his shoulder and started the car.

Abhira traced the lines of her palm, her eyes were fixed over her hand but her focus was somewhere else.

She turned her head and looked out as the car moved through known landscapes, her gaze unfocused as her thoughts drifted to him.

She missed him. A pang of longing tightened her chest as she remembered her moments with him, each one more prescious then the last. Each moments spent with him flashed in front of her eyes like a reel of a movie tightening the pang of longing in her chest.

Abhira.

Sameer,s voice cut through the haze of her thoughts and she turned her head, her gaze unfocused.

Kya?

She whispered dazed for a moment before she blinked her eyes coming back to her senses.

Haan.

She said, her voice soft, hoping that he wouldn't notice her lost.

Kya soch rahi ho?

He asked curiously and Abhira gulped softly but she masked her expression quickly.

Nahin.

She said faking a cheerful tone.

Aaj bahot important day hai na iss liye.

She said cheerfully, her eyes sparkling with a mixture of nervousness and excitement.

The car rolled to a stop and he reached out and squeezed her hand gently.

Waise toh tumhein iski zaroorat nahin hai but all the best.

Sameer said, his voice soft with something she could not spot.

She nodded her head in positive.

Thank you.

She said softly, her nervousness fading for a while and Sameer smiled softly.

Sameer offered her a soft smile and jogged to her side to open the door for her.

She smiled before stepping out of the car holding his hand.

On The Other side!!!

So deal pakki?

Bilkul pakki Mr Armaan.

The man said, his tone soft yet professional as he extended his hand for a handshake.

Armaan, with his usual stoic expression, shook hands with him.

Muskirana nahin aata kya?

The man thought and Armaan cleared his throat startling him.

Relationship professional hi rahe toh acha hai.

He said emotionlessly and turned to leave the meeting room.

Khadoos.

The man muttered and Armaan helted in his tracks. He turned and spoke, his tone sharp.

Kya?

Kuch nahin.

The man spoke, suddenly feeling nervous and quickly gathered his belongings rushing out of the meeting room.

Armaan walked to his cabin, his eyes emotionless, his expression stoic as he entered inside. The door closed behind him and he walked to sit on the chair. He leaned back on the chair, his shoulders relaxing slightly.

The creak of the door caught his attention and he looked ahead before quickly masking his expression.

Anwar entered inside, his arms tightly crossed across his chest as he shot Armaan a glare.

Kya?

Armaan asked lifting an eyebrow, unaffected by the glare.

Anwar took a step forward, the anger shimmering beneath the surface threatened to overwhelm him anytime soon.

You pushed her away again?

Anwar said in a questioning manner trying to keep himself calm but Armaan could feel his anger shimmering just beneath the surface.

Armaan looked at her, his expression composed.

Door usse kiya jata hai jo paas ho Anwar. Aur woh kabhi mere paas nahin thi.

Armaan said keeping his tone measured but the words felt hollow, a lie, barely hanging in balance.

Anwar felt frustration crash over him in waves. His eyes blazing with an intensity that made Armaan barely hold back a gasp.

Seriously Armaan....

Anwar trailed off, his voice trembling with barely controlled rage.

Armaan raised an eyebrow, his natural  expression successfully hiding the pounding of his heart.

Kya?

Armaan asked, his own voice was a muffled echo against his pounding heart.

Anwar sighed tiredly and looked at him, his frustration evident.

You know what.... Log sahi kehte hain.

Anwar trailed off running a hand though his hair in frustration.

Kya?

Armaan asked, his voice carrying a hint of curiosity, his expressionless facade crumbling for a moment.

Anwar crossed his arms across his chest, his hair were now tousled and he glared at Armaan.

Yehi ke jab koi cheez bina mange mil jaye toh uski kadar nahin hoti.

Anwar said, his tone biting.

Armaan sighed, his shoulders slumping. His heart shattered loudly in his ears and he struggled to remain composed, a flicker of vulnerability crossing his features.

Ek baar kadar ki thi.

Armaan said, his voice a low whisper as he looked at Anwar.

Anwar sighed and shook his head. He walked forward and sat opposite to Armaan and looked at him.

I understand Armaan lekin....

Anwar softened his tone understanding Armaan,s turmoil and gave his hand a gentle squeeze.

You don't find love. Love finds you.

Anwar said, his voice gentle trying to put some sense into his best friend's brain.

Love.

Armaan echoed and laughed out, his laughter a bitter sound that made Anwar,s skin crawl.

Iss love naam ki koi cheez exist nahin kerti Anwar.

Armaan said, the word love tasted bitter on his lips, his tone harsh.

Ek ghatiya feeling ko khoobsoorat sa naam de dia hai.

Armaan added, his tone bitter while his heart clenched rather painfully in his chest.

Anwar sighed gaining his calm, his heart breaking for his best friend.

Love is a beautiful feeling Armaan.

He said, his tone calm causing Armaan to look at him.

And....

Anwar paused for a moment collecting his thoughts.

He breathed and spoke, his voice laced with unwavering belief.

Pyaar ek bahot khoobsoorat ehsaas hai Armaan agar sahi insaan se ho toh.

Armaan looked at him raising an eyebrow, his heart racing in his chest with a complex mixture of emotions.

Aur kon hai woh sahi insaan?

He asked, his voice laced with a mixture of anticipation along with fear while his eyes held a touch of mockery.

Anwar breathed and looked at Armaan, his gaze unwavering.

Abhira.

Armaan,s heart skipped a beat at her name, a flutter tickled his stomach as he thought about her.

However he shrugged his shoulder quickly brushing away the thought and shook his head sideways.

Nahin Anwar.

Armaan said firmly.

Kyun?

Anwar asked raising an eyebrow, a fresh wave of frustration crashing over him.

She loves you Armaan. Dikhta nahin hai kya tujhe?

Armaan sat silent for a moment, his gaze unfocused, lost in the thoughts swirling in his mind, the memories of Abhira, the warmth of her touch, the gentle curve of her smile, the sparkle in her eyes seemed to comfort him and haunt him at the same time.

I know you have feelings for her too. Stop pushing her away Armaan.

Anwar softened his tone, the words cracking through the haze of his thoughts and he looked at Anwar.

I want to believe you Anwar but I can't....

Armaan trailed off trying to remain calm but the tremor in his voice betrayed him.

Aur rahi baat Abhira ke pyaar ki toh I'm just an experiment for her.

Armaan said, his tone convincing.

Armaan,s eyes glazed over, staring into nothingness. The words he spoke felt hollow. He couldn't escape the flicker of doubt that crept into his heart but he breathed, his fingers tightening over the armrest of his chair.

Experiment? How?

Anwar asked, his voice trembling with a mixture of rage and curiosity.

She's just in love with the idea of being in love and..... Main bas ek experiment hoon jisse woh bahot jaldi bor ho jayegi....

Armaan trailed off. For the first time, he found himself at a loss of words and out of justification.

Really?

Anwar asked. Armaan looked at Anwar and a mixture of doubt and fear crept into his heart and for the first time, he allowed himself to feel the full depth of his emotions.

He shuddered as a sense of coldness swept over him, the mask of stoicism crumpled and he blinked.

Nahin Armaan. You don't know her well. Abhira is hella passionate. She never leaves the people she loves. Aur ab....

Anwar trailed off and breathed collecting his thoughts.

Woh tere sath hai and she won't leave you.

Anwar said, his voice soft yet firm.

Armaan sat silent, his thoughts, a tangled mess. He wanted to believe that. He desperately wanted to believe that she maybe.... Just maybe she was in love with him but he could not. Something was pulling him back.

She brings light in your life. She brings hope, hope for a future full of love and possibility. Don't let her go.

Anwar sucked in a breath as he forced the words out

Warna agar woh chali gayi toh tum pachtaoge.

The words hit Armaan more sharply then he had anticipated, twisting his heart in the most brutal way possible.

Anwar smiled softly.

Think about it Armaan.

He said, his voice softer and stood up on his feet turning to leave.
.....,..................................

Armaan stared at the skyline, standing against the windowsill. His mind raced, Anwar,s words echoed in his mind. His eyes fluttered close as he stood there, the weight of Anwar,s words settled heavily over his chest making each breath a clear struggle.

Will I ever be happy?

He thought, his words barely above a whisper, his eyes lost in the tranquil beauty of the setting sun. It was a calming sight but his thoughts swirled in a chaotic whrill.

His eyes fluttered close then. A flicker of doubt crept into his heart at the thought of hoping but still he managed to let out a soft breath.

I don't know.
