"Bro you almost killed my kid!", Jungkook yelled out once Taehyung had brought the car to a halt, two centimeters before crashing into a tree. "I almost killed all three of us", the older corrected and wiped off the sweat off his forehead after that little risky stunt he just pulled.
Taejeon, still in Jungkook's lap sat there, frozen in all his movements and stared at the two boys.
"Are you okay, buddy?", Taehyung asked worriedly, glancing to the kid above his shoulder. Kook did the same but he still held the kid tight. All of them were lucky that the only thing on the boy's mind was the kid once they crashed down the hill, holding him so steady that Taejeon wasn't in danger at all.
"Can we do that again?", Taejeon suddenly asked, eyes going big in excitement. "Like rollercoaster ride! Taejeon liked it."
"Bro", Taehyung let out in disbelief, ruffling the kid's fluffy black hair. "We will never do that again", he hummed and then got back on the road to keep driving. The police was gone, left behind on top of the hill because they didn't want to risk their lives chasing a car full of criminals. Even though that was literally their job, but oh well.
"I'll never let you drive a fucking car again", Jungkook grumbled and then grabbed in his bag until he found a box with cookies to give to Taejeon, wanting to distract him from everything that just went down.
"Would you rather be in jail?", Taehyung snapped at the younger.
"I'm not the one who kidnapped us. I'd be fine", Kook yelled back. "Never put my kid in danger again, I swear to god."
"You're still calling this kidnapping?", Taehyung asked back, "I thought you wanted to stay with me. The door is unlocked, I can drop you off anytime", he said sharply. He wasn't going down for all of this alone. Either it was both of them or else Jungkook could just leave right fucking now and not get all of them in danger.
"If we go down, we go down together, is that clear?", Taehyung mumbled, eyeing Jungkook who bit his lips while still hugging his child. "Not if it puts my son in danger", he said quietly. "You can not just pull shit like that. Not with him in the car. I promised his mother to keep him safe, to raise him right and not to put him in danger. She'd hate me if she knew I was about to leave the state with a criminal besides me and our kid in the middle of it."
Taehyung gritted his teeth, well, the mother knew and she indeed hated the whole situation.
If only Jungkook knew that she was the one who put them in this position where they had to run away from the police.
That was no thanks to Taehyung, it was all caused by Lyza who told them all about what happened.
"I'm sorry", Taehyung hummed, "I know it was irresponsible and it won't happen again"
"Good", Jungkook said. "I would much rather spend my life in jail than burying my kid at the age of 5."
Taehyung nodded, heart aching a little when he realized that Taejeon meant the world to Jungkook, it was amazing to see. The boy never had something like that with his own father and neither had Jungkook with his father. It was just Taejeon who seemed to get all the love in the world.
Probably the reason why he sat there now, unbothered by anything with his cookie stuffed into his mouth and a big smile on his face, singing a melody from a cartoon he had watched some days earlier.
And that's when Taehyung thought the same; this kid had to be protected at all costs.

"Dude, you didn't say anything about a fucking kid on the phone", Yoongi breathed out this evening when they had arrived at his place. Jungkook and Taejeon were already in the small guest room, the older boy trying to talk Taejeon to sleep even though the kid was still way too excited about the world, pointing on all the things that were in this room, asking his Dad what those were.
Taehyung sat in the dark living room with his cousin, both sipping on a glass of whiskey. Yoongi was busy looking through his gun bullets, sorting out which ones were for which gun. Yup, he had a whole gun collection in his living room.
"Does it matter?", Taehyung asked with a sigh. "I told you, I need a place to stay and hide for a while."
"Why is there a kid though?", Yoongi grumbled. "Where's the fucking mother? Did you kill her or-"
"The mother is my Ex-girlfriend", Taehyung held his voice down, speaking quietly. "Jungkook doesn't know that though. She is the one we're running from."
"The boy doesn't know he's running away from his own girlfriend?", Yoongi asked, eyes big. "Fuck, this is more messed up than I thought", he laughed out and downed his whiskey.
"You've always liked the complicated things", Yoongi then added, glaring at Taehyung for a while.
"I didn't expect to fall for him either", Taehyung said, looking down on his glass. "My job was to kill him. But then I saw the kid and I just couldn't do it-, so I started hiding them and things just happened-"
"Who wanted you to kill a kid?!", Yoongi asked surprised. "That's cruel. I mean, this Jungkook guy, I wouldn't care that much, I'd kill him too. But a kid?"
"Jimin", Taehyung whispered, "He's the one who gave me the mission. But I just couldn't ."
"Jimin", Yoongi repeated, he remembered this name from childhood days when all of them still lived in one town. Before things broke all of them apart, Yoongi left for Miami while Taehyung and Jimin were stuck in that ugly town they had been staying all their lives, still hoping for their parents to come back one day .
Even though all of them knew that their parents had died a long time ago.
Just that there were never any bodies found, so Taehyung and Jimin would still keep hoping while Yoongi left the city and took over their parent's drug business.
Their three families had always been close, but not close enough to a point where Jimin could tell Taehyung to kill a kid.
"Why would Jimin do that? I remember him being so sweet."
"He's in love with the mother of the child", Taehyung whispered, still scared that Jungkook could hear them through the walls. "He thought if he gets the boy and the kid out of the way, he could have her forever. What he didn't know was that I fucked her too."
"Bro, that bitch must be hot", Yoongi chuckled. "Y'all are all about this one girl ? Even to a point where you kill a kid-"
"The kid is still alive", Taehyung corrected, "And I'm all about the boyfriend of this girl."
"You still had your dick inside her though", Yoongi stuck his tongue out, amused by all that. "Fuck, that's such good drama. Well. If you want to stay here, you gotta help me earning money though. Not gonna feed you through without you working for it", he then said.
"Sure", Taehyung nodded, "I'm in."
"Great", Yoongi smiled and leaned back.
Now the guest room door opened and Jungkook came back outside. He successfully got the kid to sleep and now wanted to join the adults. He sat down next toTaehyung and eyed the whiskey he was drinking, not quite amused by the fact that the older was drinking alcohol.
"Seriously?", he only lifted his brow, "Whiskey?"
"Yah, what about it", Taehyung asked softly and wrapped his arm around Jungkook's waist . "Is the little one asleep?"
"Yup", Kook hummed, still looking a little pissed. "What were you two talking about?"
"I was about to give you guys your very first task. I heard Taehyung's quite good at killing", he smirked, "And there's some dudes who owe me a lot of money. Not payed it back in months-, it's time they get some backlash for that. I want you to kill two of the guys, just as a threat so their leader will finally give me my fucking money."
Jungkook gulped, "You want us to kill people?"
"Yes, princess", Yoongi mocked the younger, "Do you think you can do that? Dating a criminal comes along with some sweet little murders, did no one tell you that ?"
Kook flinched a little at the way the older was talking to him, somehow he felt a little insulted by the whole thing.
"I was just asking." He said sharply, clenching his fist.
"Good. I want them dead by Friday or you guys can find another place to hide",Yoongi then said and poured another glass of whiskey for him and Taehyung. "And that's just the beginning. I don't let people stay in my house for nothing. You guys have the police and probably soon the FBI on your back, having you here is putting my whole business in danger."
"It's fine", Taehyung said, "We appreciate that we can stay here."
"Mhm", Yoongi said, "And I'm no babysitter by the way. You take the kid and your boyfriend on all the jobs, I'm not going to be responsible for neither of them."
Then the older boy got up from his seat and took his last sip of his whiskey and then headed towards his bedroom. "Understood?", he asked coldly, not bothering to turn back around.
"Understood", Taehyung replied and Kook nodded, clinging onto Taehyung's hand after Yoongi slammed his door shut and went to sleep.
"Your cousin is scary and hella rude", Kook commented once he was gone and rolled his eyes, "Could've been a little bit nicer."
"He's always like that", Taehyung assured the younger, "Don't think too much of it. Deep, very deep inside he's a nice guy."
"He kills people, he cannot be nice."
"There's one thing you need to understand", Taehyung started slowly, watching Jungkook fondly. "Guys like us have nothing in life. We don't have rich parents, we have no education and no chance of getting a job ever. The things we do to survive don't define us, alright?"
Kook was left speechless, thinking about those words for the rest of the night.
