First Encounter: Obito
(Your Name) (Last Name), a young woman who was making a name for herself as a Private Investigator in a new town.
(Your Name) believed in one thing: The truth. (Your Name) figured the cold truth was the only thing you could depend on to never change. With that being said, (Your Name) didn't really like to rely on the words of others. She always looked to the facts to tell her what she needed to know. There wasn't any piece of information she couldn't get her hands on, and the scariest thing was no one knew how she found out half the stuff she did.
The young woman was currently sitting in her car tailing her most recent target. A man in his early fourties. The young woman snaps pictures of her target kissing a woman around the same age before they enter a restaurant. Her client was a woman who was desperate to find out why her husband had lost complete interest in her. Her task was to follow him, see what he was doing and where he would disappear to at different times after work. Knowing that this was going to break the woman's heart, (Your Name) felt a slight twinge of guilt.
But why should she? The truth was good to know: whether it was good or bad...Wasn't it?
"Men are such dogs, they could have the entire world in front of them and yet it's still not enough." (Your Name) dejectedly sighs
The car door to the passenger side of (Your Name)'s car swings open to reveal Obito. Sitting in the seat next to the awestruck woman, Obito makes himself comfortable.
"You shouldn't assume all men are alike, it's an unfair and biased way of thinking." His deep, raspy voice states
Snapping out of her state of shock, (Your Name) eyes said male suspiciously. The cautious woman concludes that he looks shady as hell. On gaurd, (Your Name) prepares her self for anything he might try.
"Who are you? Where did you come from? And what do you want?" Blankly staring at (Your Name), Obito decides to humor her
"Obito. Not important. And a moment of your time." He states. A perplexed expression occupys (Your Name)'s face
"No, now get out of my car you weirdo!" (Your Name) snaps
"It took me forever to find you, at least hear me out."
"For what reason?"
"My boss. He admires your expertise and thinks you can be a valuable asset to his organization." Obito explains
Remembering her current assignment, (Your Name)'s head snaps back to the direction of the restaurant. She sees her target and his mistress leaving the restaurant to get in their car.
"I really have to go. I'm not working tomorrow, why don't we meet up then and talk?" (Your Name) quickly suggests
"I don't have until tomorrow. I leave tonight." Obito replies
"How is that my problem?!" (Your Name) impatiently questions
The target's car starts and they prepare to pull off. Obito shows no signs of moving from his seat.
"Come on! They're leaving!" The irritable woman snaps
" I'm not going anywhere until you agree to talk with me." Obito states in an unbothered tone
Annoyed, (Your Name) turns her attention to the target's car that is currently driving down the street.
"Screw this!" Staring her own car, (Your Name) proceeds to follow after her target. A look of suprise flashes across the raven haired male's face
"What are you doing?!" He questions in a panicked tone
"My job." (Your Name) states firmly
Keeping her focus on the road ahead of her, (Your Name) inconspicously trails her target's car.

By now, night has fallen and the (Hair Color) haired woman has followed her target all the way to his mistress home. Laying in wait for her target to emerge, (Your Name) calmly waits. Obito studies the tired but determined look on her face before breaking the silence.
"This is boring." Obito says as he reclines his chair into a more comfortable position
Rolling her eyes, (Your Name) snaps pictures of her target and his mistress through her living room window that they're currently seated in front of.
"I didn't ask you to come along. You had the chance to leave. In fact, you still do, the door's right there." Setting her camera in her lap, (Your Name) stretches the stiff joints in her arms.
"Hear what I have to say first."
Raising a perfectly shaped eyebrow, (Your Name) glances in Obito's direction.
"Since I don't really have a choice at this point, go on. I'm listening." (Your Name) answers getting herself comfortable as well
"Your investigative skills could be put to good use in the Akatsuki." Obito begins "Why waste your talent on trivial matters like these?"
"It's not trivial if you enjoy the work you do. Especially if it helps someone else." (Your Name) replies with a small smile
Unsatisfied with her foolish response, Obito chuckles humorlessly. Feeling slightly offened, the (Hair Color) haired woman turns her body so she is fully facing Obito.
"What's so funny?" (Your Name) questions in a defensive tone
"You." Obito answers flatly
"Huh?"
"Clearly the world hasn't gotten it's hooks into you yet. Let me ask you a question: When you're lying on your death bed reliving the last decades of your life, will that really be the only thing that gave your life meaning? Helping other people?" Obito agressively questions
Confused by his sudden change in mood, (Your Name) eyes him skeptically.
"What's wrong with that?"
"What's wrong with it?" Obito voices in a low seething rage
Sporting a scowl, Obito scoffs irritably.
"Everything" Obito begins "Let me explain something to you, the people you help don't give a damn about you. Do you honestly think that after you help this woman that she will even give you a second thought? She won't, she will use you until she has no more use for you. It has been this way since the beginning of time among humans: cheating, lying and taking advantage of one another until there's nothing left. Your kind acts are all for nothing. Because in your time of need, you'll go to call for help only to find that not one soul will be there to help you. Instead, they will all watch and laugh as you drown in your misery and anguish." Obito finishes darkly
In that moment, (Your Name) wonders what could have gone so wrong in Obito's life that left him with such a twisted perception on people.
"It's clear to see that life wasn't fair to you." (Your Name) speaks
"Or your parents." Obito counters
"What did you just say?"
Lost in a state of disbelief, (Your Name) tries to figure out whether or not she heard the uchiha male correctly. A tense silence settles in the air over Obito and (Your Name), not a word spoken between the two.
"What? You think you're the only one that knows how to dig for information?" Obito smirks slightly
"You read the file?" (Your Name) asks in shock
"Every last page." He remarks
"How?!"
"A resourceful acquaintance. It's interesting, none of what is written in the file seems to be consistent with your parent's deaths; your father's especially. It's as if vital pieces of information were removed. Or perhaps they were never added in." Obito points out "I know that you're aware that there are many things regarding your parents deaths that just don't seem to add up. Perhaps that missing information could prove that your parents deaths weren't just mere accidents. What if I told you that there was a way to prove that?"
(Your Name)'s hopes of finding out what really happened to her parents was something she was dying to know for years now. The way things happened never seemed to sit right with her. Maybe accepting obito's offer wasn't a bad thing. Maybe this was a sign from the good kami above. But what if it's a trick?
Assuming he was lying to her, the desperate woman thinks better of it. Refusing to believe him, (Your Name) turns her nose up at him.
"I don't believe a word you're saying." (Your Name) snaps at Obito.
"That's a shame. Because with the resources of the Akatsuki on your side, then you would be able to prove to yourself and everyone else that you aren't crazy. Your parents didn't just die, they were murdered. I would think after all of these years of not knowing, you would jump at the chance to finally figure things out." Obito trails off
"What will you do? Throw away your chances of finding out the truth and continue serving desperate house wives? Or are you going to grow up and stop living with your head in the clouds?" Obito questions
Feeling Obito's intense gaze on her, a conflicted (Your Name) finds herself saying yes without thinking it through.
"You made the right choice."
"Why do I feel like I just sold my soul to the devil?" (Your Name) questions herself in an uncertain voice
"You know what they say: Better the devil you know than the devil you don't." Obito answers the young woman with a slightly wicked smile before he exits the car.
Unpleasant shivers shoot up the unnerved woman's spine as she watches obito disappear into the dark shadows of the night.
"The Akatsuki..." (Your Name) trails off deep in thought
