Episode 33: Baton Pass
*Starting Scene*
Virago speeds through space as it's being chased by multiple ships belonging to the Lacertas, although are unable to reach the brown vessel because of how much faster it is. Meanwhile, another batch of enemy crafts are displayed towards the right at a substantial range from the Victress' machine and each deliver a storm of shots at Virago, causing it to swerve wildly in avoidance.
The crew and guests tightly grip onto whatever they can to withstand Virago's haphazard mobility while Doyenne shouts in a commanding tone, "Time left 'til we get to Earth 03?!"
Zhi promptly answers with her focus glued to her screen. "Approximately 20 minutes!"
Kelly suddenly blurts from her post, fear emitted, "We're running low on power though!"
Eve angrily glares at Kelly. "Tell someone to resupply it!"
Tessa retorts towards Eve with equal ferocity. "Don't you think that would've already been done by now?! When was the last time we took a pitstop, huh?! Our resources must've depleted!" She concentrates upon the main monitor. If we take into account what Virago's tolerated lately, it's not much of a surprise!"
Doyenne issues a few glances at Eve and Tessa via turning her head eastward. "No bickering!" The pale woman shifts her sight to the rest of her friends. "Transfer every bit of energy to the engines to make sure we arrive!"
Marie urgently chimes in Spanish as she interacts with her station's keys, "Voy!" The female grows scared prior to applying her gaze towards Doyenne, switching to English in the process. "We got a problem! Lacey says that the thrusters are still a little messed up from the previous damage, despite the repairs! Apparently, it's wasting power!"
Doyenne specifies her attention to Marie, quite agitated. "Crap! That's obviously something we can't cut back on at the moment!"
Harper instantly obtains Doyenne's vision through temporarily gesturing his left hand at her before firmly inquiring, "When will Virago shutdown?"
Doyenne portrays mild curiosity while calming her tone and then looks over her left shoulder to depict Kelly. "Well?"
Kelly hesitantly rebuttals. "Um... Currently, it won't last more than 10 minutes. If we put everything to the engines, saved for the Bridge's power, it can be stretched out to 15."
Lita joins the conversation, eyeing Doyenne, with seriousness established. "Cutting the Bridge's would be too risky, so let's not even consider it."
Doyenne watches Lita. "I wasn't. We need to be able to navigate." The brunette views her allies, increasing her voice's volume with intensity reflected. "Unless anybody's willing to gamble that we don't bump into additional Lacertas and go it blind?!"
No response is issued by any of the Victress members, informing Doyenne of what they would prefer.
Harper regains Doyenne's focus to explain the reason he delivered that question in the first place. "Listen. If we are at the very least able to make it Earth 03's orbit, it's gravitational pull will do the rest of the work."
Doyenne narrows her eyes from faint criticism. "Are you ignoring that we'd be without control of our landing at that point? It does nothing if we crash and die."
Harper sternly utters, "Unfortunately, that was going to be a problem either way. Nonetheless, it's our best option. I believe it's better than being annihilated by the Lacertas."
Oxford abruptly stands up from her seat and comments with tenacity brimming, "We don't need to fret over that! We possess some incredibly reliable companions!"
Harper veers his gaze to Oxford as he's fairly confused. "But we can't contact Andrews or anybody from our team because of Exca."
Oxford smiles. "When was the last time we checked that? We shouldn't be hasty to quit solely due to prior failures. Use your nephew as reference. Stuff changes."
Harper's eyes slightly widen until reciprocating Oxford's conduct. "You reached them?"
Oxford maintains her behavior. "The line's presently available. That much I learned. Want me to connect you with Andrews?"
Harper shakes his head. "That'd kill more of our power." The Captain draws his concentration back to Doyenne. "I have an idea though. It merely requires that we accomplish what I mentioned earlier."
Doyenne stares at Harper with uncertainty, however, ultimately concedes. "We can manage that." The dame glimpses at her comrades as she exclaims, "Right?!"
The crew sharply nod before the majority of them delve into their respective task while Gabriela and Fey are on the verge of exiting the Bridge with the latter remarking as she observes Doyenne, "We'll see if we can lend a hand to Lacey's group. You don't need me and Gab here."
Gabriela smirks, situated behind Fey a tad and also contains her sight onto Doyenne via slanting her person westward. "Yeah! We're just hanging around and we're already down a bunch of pods, so there's no sense in losing any more of them by going outside to wreak chaos!"
Fey blandly adds as she looks at Gabriela out of the corner of her eyes, "We'd probably get decimated the second we're about to infiltrate one of their ships. It may have not occurred during our previous efforts, but my instincts are screaming to elude reckless choices." The Russian diverts her attention to Eve. "That's your-"
Eve immediately interrupts Fey, rage implemented towards the leotard-wearing chick. "Shut it!" The jacketed individual commandeers her vision to the floor as she demonstrates a disgruntled attitude, mumbling, "Always freaking dissing me without provocation..."
Fey states in a straightforward way, "I'm speaking the truth. I dislike restraining my thoughts. Not only that, I enjoy bearing witness to you becoming flustered." The beauty steers herself accordingly to leave the area. "It's when you're at your cutest after all."
Eve's baffled while reverting her concentration to Fey, watching her departure.
Simultaneously, Gabriela does a double-take between Fey and Eve as she reluctantly says, "Wait... Was that...? Did she indirectly...?" The Hispanic trails off prior to rushing to catch up with Fey, intending on investigating further.
Doyenne unexpectedly appears a couple of inches from Eve's anterior as she teasingly whispers, "This sheds light to a mystery that's been rummaging through my noggin for a while."
Eve instantly snaps her focus towards Doyenne while exhibiting a defensive personality. "What are you talking about?!"
Harper clears his throat to attain Doyenne's and Eve's gaze until coldly commenting, "Please, put off other matters. It's imperative we complete our journey to Earth 03. Then, you can discuss whatever that brought forth that outburst."
Doyenne properly faces Harper since she was formerly having her back towards him as she communicates in her normal volume. "Forgive me. Of course, I didn't forget our present circumstance. Victress is in the process of achieving the job you set out for us, even though we briefly made it seem contrary to that. Deem it as a symbol of how confident we are in doing what you requested from us that we're capable of such a casual act."
Harper chuckles. "Alright, I will. Our lives are in your hands."
With that, Doyenne spins herself counterclockwise to confront Eve again. "You saw what I did just now?"
Eve lifts her left eyebrow while cocking her head eastward. "Uh, you swung around?"
Doyenne nods. "Exactly, which is what Fey does. Specifically, towards you."
Eve blushes amidst pulling away from Doyenne a little. "No! She couldn't like me that way!"
Doyenne shrugs and views the right part of the Bridge from her perspective. "Fine, if you insist that she doesn't, then I guess we'll accept that as fact. I'm merely suggesting that it would make sense to her picking on you. It's the classic people bothering those they fancy trope and I can see her doing that."
Eve's denial escalates as she extends her left arm towards the hallway, compliments of the entrance/exit staying open. "But she hangs around Gabriela a ton! That could be her having a crush on her!"
Doyenne sways her head from side to side, contemplating Eve's reply. "Maybe. Their rapport with each other is decent, which is a good sign of their friendship." The young lady mounts her attention towards Eve once more. "Fey might've been using that to cover her interest in you too. You know she's the calculative type. She's aware it'd be really unexpected with how she has contradicted any possibility of that thanks to her apparent discontent towards you. That's the way a facade works. The lone detail about her that's obvious is her style of attire."
Eve scoffs while entwining her arms before her abdomen. "You can say that again. I'm still skeptical of your reasoning, however. Fey probably was being sarcastic with calling me cute and is aware I'd figure that out, leading to me..." Realization sets upon the damsel as she hurriedly turns her sight westward to depict the hallway amidst yelling, "Getting pissed off!"
Doyenne vaguely laughs and mutters, not permitting Eve the ability to hear her, "If that's what she wanted you to think, why leave instead of observing your turmoil per usual?" The femme deviates herself to face the large monitor while mentally declaring, "Again, Fey isn't an open book about her feelings... Unlike me." Doyenne shows a partially worried demeanor during the persistence of her thought process. "Hopefully, I'll have the chance to better convey mine to Virgil through our continually developing relationship." She mildly shifts her focus westward, thinking, "If you grant me that wish, Suta, I'd be grateful."
*Scene Change*
Suta looks to his right from detecting something, currently sitting atop Iota with his legs crossed as his immobility represents his lack of wanting to involve himself in battling the remaining Lacertas. Immediately following, a grin forms while the star nonchalantly remarks, "That's a totally pure desire. Equally as basic as Anemone's though." He brings his concentration to Alpha, it recently disposing of several opposing crafts. "V will answer you through his own method, so simply be patient, Doyenne. First, let him work out his."
Alpha rapidly ascends from the explosions transpiring in front of it while altering its wing-based weapons for them to enter their rifle stage. Not long after, the Mech aims the left tool behind itself, ceases its upward movement and fires at a single Lacerta ship that was advancing toward its posterior. In conclusion, Alpha's projectile easily pierces the bow of the enemy as it eventually exit the other end while erupting in no time from the lethal damage its interior sustained.
Orian witnesses that, struggling to eliminate an adversary from below, and gingerly complains the instance he administers his gaze to the big machine, "This is supposed to be their weakest spot! Why is this one withstanding so much of my attacks?!" The Lt. Colonel suddenly receives a notification from his jet while red lights flash a warning label, causing Orian to display a blank expression. "Oh! I never asked the mechanics to recharge my jet! There isn't much juice to the blasters, huh?!" Orian randomly begins panicking as he forces his space craft to separate from the Lacertas' vessel prior to establishing an irritated conduct and thinks, "This is what happens when you forget to do maintenance after every deployment! It's my fault, but I will utilize the excuse that seeing my wife and kid distracted me! Sounds legit!"
A handful of the Lacertas' armada target the gold jet during its travel, suspecting that it has suffered some sort of problem to be retreating as they attempt to capitalize on whatever it is.
Virgil registers the foes pursuing his father's vehicle, it flying at a considerable distance ahead of him while firmly shouting, "Anemone!"
Anemone temporarily glimpses at Virgil until finding out why he stated her name and swiftly adjusts the right Buster Rifle's angling to launch an assault towards a Lacerta craft.
Because of that, with one of the ships stalking the gold machine blowing up, Orian's given a minuscule reprieve since the Lacertas unharmed are pushed off course from the explosion.
To further aid Orian, Alpha drops both of its limbs before quickly soaring towards the jet's rear, intercepting the Lacertas upon their renewal of their chase. Doing that, the piloted robot drives its guns onward, each pointed at a vessel headed straight towards Alpha while feverishly striving to defeat the Mech via their cannons. Afterwards, Alpha expels two shots in unison and soon create a pair of explosions from the crafts they struck.
Orian peers towards the background to watch the destruction prior to inspecting his jet's equipment, determination radiating, as he softly utters, "I'm not through yet! If I'm intelligent about it, I can beat a few more with the power I have left! I solely got to keep a low profile and wait for a situation that demands it!" The adult abruptly elevates his vision and discovers a horde of the Lacertas' robots hurling themselves towards him, ultimately hitting the gold jet. This results in Orian's constitution and his machine jerking around from the numerous impacts as he blurts out with annoyance notable, "That was stupidly fast!"
Some of the mechanical entities cling to Orian's jet, specifically its wings while blatantly trying to rip them off.
Suta promptly observes the circumstance Orian found himself in, leisurely having Iota fly around. "Yeah, that was to be anticipated. My Deltas hindered those I decided not to obliterate, however, they oughta' wield the power to overcome them. They're really weak comparable to me, and yet, that doesn't mean you can undermine them if you contain no access to my prowess." The teal-eyed character smiles. "It's up to you to be victorious or be saved, V's dad. Which will it be?"
Orian frantically does his best to shake the new batch of opponents from his craft, not opting to use the blasters because of the robot's proximities that prevent sufficient aiming. At the same time, the male persists his monologue while attentive of both sides that are being threatened. "Well, they're unintentionally doing me a favor! I got to fling them, but I doubt that'll be a piece of cake! They must have iron grips!"
One of the automatons gradually rises on top of the gold jet's right wing and crawls towards the canopy.
Orian keys onto the adversary with hostility exhibited. "Oh, you want to take me on, personally?! You can forget that! I'm not arrogant enough to believe I'd be a physical match for a machine!" He then searches the vicinity and immediately instills his focus towards a collection of Lacertas' vessels gathered westward.
The giant ships are presently journeying towards Alpha's general direction, which involves them to go pass the sector that's to the gold space craft's rear.
Orian eventually replaces his prior behavior with a solemn look as he has his machine haphazardly switch its trajectory to advance towards the Lacertas that have his concentration.
Despite the sudden movement, the robots refuse to relinquish their hold of Orian's jet while the one heading towards the Lt. Colonel maintains a steady progression.
Orian neglects the mechanical individual, locking his weapons upon the crafts poised in front of him and sends a couple of shots at them.
That effortlessly obtains the gaze of the Lacertas navigating those vessel as they point their cannons towards the gold jet, preparing to fire in retaliation.
Orian's hastily alerted by his craft that his recent action drained more of its power, compelling him to refrain from implementing additional projectiles at the Lacertas.
After that, the Lacertas deliver a huge onslaught towards Orian, although manages to weave his jet accordingly so none of their cannon fire are able to strike it. In contrast, thanks to how Orian's piloting the gold machine, the barrage accidentally hit the automaton attempting to dismantle the jet and blows most of them off it. As each of the mechanical foes are disposed of, the robot slithering its way to Orian finally arrives at the canopy and punches a hole through it by utilizing its right appendage.
Orian glances at the automaton until viewing forward again to continue narrowly dodging the flurry released from the members of the Lacertas' fleet while thinking, "I'm fine! My gear has plenty of oxygen in case of matters like this! Just need to get into a good angle for them to be rid of the last few of these pain in the ass bots!"
The enemy ships attacking Orian's space craft unprecedentedly detain their assault and keep on flying towards Alpha's location.
Orian depicts that, quite dumbfounded, as he exclaims with an upset tone, "Don't tell me they figured out my scheme! That aside, I never would've thought they'd be willing to merely ignore me if they did learn of what I was plotting!" The Caucasian hears a second smashing of glass noise reverberate from his right, startling him, while veering his vision to the source with his eastern arm instinctively ascended for cover.
The Lacerta robot strives to reach out to Orian, ripping the protective glass further, while generating a screeching sound from its mechanical parts' mobility.
Orian pulls away from the threat, staying weary of his jet's maneuvering to guarantee that its course remains constant. "Alright, I'm in danger! Don't you dare come closer, you bastard!" The spiky-haired man hurriedly selects to resume his blasters' fire onto the Lacertas' vessels to garner their attention once more, even though it reduces the gold machine's velocity as a result.
The multiple opposing ships are plagued by a handful of explosions from Orian's desperate onslaught, invoking their wrath, and shoot at the jet again.
Orian's significantly pleased. "I knew they couldn't help themselves! Their temperament wouldn't ever allow it!" He commandeers his sight back to the automaton, which finished breaking the canopy to the point that it's capable of entering the jet's cockpit while now in a squatting positioned. Following that, Orian performs a momentary double-take to see the Lacertas' crafts before demonstrating tenacity towards the robot. "Screw you!" The uniformed gentleman instantly shifts his machine to aim its eastern region towards the team of enemy vessels, concurrently halting the jet.
Precisely when that's done, a decent amount of the oncoming attack graze the gold space craft while only making full contact with the automaton's posterior. This causes the robot to falter, but slowly persists its advancement towards Orian via leaning forth.
In the meantime, shards of glass rain on Orian from the blast that struck the mechanical adversary summoning a shockwave that it couldn't tolerate. Then, the Lt. Colonel faintly tilts his vehicle so the upper area of the jet is facing towards the bombardment as he narrowly dodges devastating blows from colliding upon it while thinking, "I'm waiting for it! Nail the son of a gun's head already! That oughta' mess with it sufficiently so I can throw it off me! I'm risking my life to do that! Get it over with if you're gonna' end up hitting me!"
The automaton extends its left arm at Orian's helmet, soon grabbing a hold of its right side as it's on the verge of applying pressure to break the object.
Orian brims fear and observes the foe out of the corner of his eyes prior to rapidly navigating the gold jet onward as he yells, "Okay, I'll simply increase the danger level!" The fellow pilots his craft into a couple of the Lacertas' ammunition that weren't going to land whatsoever, receiving severe damage that has incited electricity to surge along the machine.
Fortunately, the sparks have a small effect on the Lacertas' robot, forcing it to cease all mobility, and is abruptly assaulted by another shot from its manipulators that descended onto its cranium like Orian desired.
Witnessing that, Orian contorts his body towards the left to distance himself from the mechanical entity a bit while also ensuring the blast doesn't strike him in any way since it would spell out his death as he urgently thinks, "Too close!" The adult shows a content smirk amidst pulling the controls to have his jet divert its flight to prevent more of the Lacertas' barrage from crashing onto it, still internally speaking with himself. "It did the job though!" Orian focuses on the warning sign flashing and expels a sad sigh until mumbling, "I'm nearly out of power..."
The robot next to Orian twitches its outstretched limb, displaying that it has not been defeated yet.
Orian briefly concentrates towards the mechanical opponent, a calm attitude portrayed. A second later, the male draws his vision to where his jet's traveling while determination mixes in and comments with a louder voice, "Well, practically down to the last decision I can make! I must retreat!" Orian resets his gaze to the automaton, presenting vague aggravation. "However, you complicate that. I need to do something spectacular beforehand, so I'll go for it and hope it pays off. As any gambling addict would spout, one more try can't hurt." The helmet-endowed guy chuckles and immediately directs his space craft towards the faction of the armada that are keeping onto their course to Alpha's vicinity.
Suta, having retained his sight upon Orian's jet throughout, exhibits an intrigued expression as several Deltas encompass him to deflect every shot launched at him. "You're a really respectable being. Selfless and courageous, even when you're completely scared and outclassed." The star switches Iota's stance to depict Alpha, considering Suta's off to the side during this period of him not battling. "V idolizes you and his uncle for those reasons. It'd be a big shame if either of you die unless it's from old age." Suta nudges his head to the left a tad, concluding with a Delta stationed there to suddenly depart.
Simultaneously, Alpha swiftly soars about with numerous eruptions spreading from continually shooting its rifles. As that occurs, Virgil attempts to discern how his father is fairing, although can't due to the Lacertas getting in the way while radiating a frantic conduct. "Are their forces dropping in the slightest?! It feels that they'll never end!"
Anemone sustains her attention towards the fleet and sternly responds. "Yeah, but I'm positive we'll beat them after a while! Suta took out a ton of them! Your dad is fighting too! He'll definitely wreck some of them!"
Orian unpredictably chimes through the duo's microphone, confidence noticeable. "You know it! To be honest, I'm preparing to destroy a bunch of them at this moment!"
Virgil grows excited, moderately relieved to hear Orian as well. "That's great! I believe in you, dad!"
Orian laughs. "Likewise, my son!" He randomly swaps his personality to reflect a hint of remorse. "Hence me leaving the remaining Lacertas to you and Anemone from this point on. I'm sorry, Virgil."
Virgil becomes confused while narrowing his eyes, viewing the left sector of his helmet's interior. "Why's that?! Are you okay?!"
Orian intently watches the ships ahead of him, seconds from reaching them, and inhales profusely. "For now, I am." The Lt. Colonel lets out the breath he gathered while bending forward somewhat. "We'll see if that doesn't change in a bit. I love you and your mother with all my heart. Forever remember that."
Worry envelopes Virgil. "Obviously, but I said that I'd make sure you'd live! Don't turn me into a liar, dad!" The teen desperately strives to have Alpha escape from the encirclement that the Lacertas are currently initiating to improve their chances of defeating the Mech. To Virgil's disappointment, Alpha's unable to pass by the group of adversaries as stress overruns the young man's demeanor. "Anemone, Suta! Do something! Don't allow my dad to die!"
Anemone panics as she shoots at the Lacertas' fleet. "I'm trying, V! They're too many to deal with first!"
Orian promptly tells Virgil in a soothing tone, "It's no use, Virgil. I'm in a bind that compels me to take drastic action. You mentioned that you believe in me, right? So relax."
Virgil angrily exclaims, "Then what was with you saying that stuff about me remembering that you love us?!"
Orian sincerely answers. "Precaution. I wouldn't want to accidentally leave you two without that being made clear one final time." He soon arrives at an enemy craft as his jet slams into its side, invoking countless explosions from the Lacertas' vessel.
Following that, the afflicted vehicle blow up in its entirety while catching its allies within the massive blast and annihilates them too.
Virgil and Anemone gawk at the destruction, compliments of the shockwaves it generated expanding towards them while striking a decent quantity of the Lacerta crafts situated close to Alpha. During that, tears stream down the redhead's face while weakly inquiring, "Dad...?"
Anemone maintains her vision to the multiple explosions recently forged, having ceased both rifles' firing, as she shakes her head and murmurs, "Impossible. He can't be gone." The Asian steers her focus to Virgil via tilting herself eastward, concern established.
Suta plainly observes Alpha prior to remarking with a hint of eagerness forming. "I won't be insensitive. I comprehend that you're in pain, but you gotta' be strong for yourself. So, will you spend valuable seconds mourning or are you gonna' accept the responsibility he entrusted upon you?"
Despite his inability to listen to Suta's words, Virgil brushes his dread aside while glaring at the Lacertas' armada that avoided interacting with the powerful radiance.
Anemone cautiously questions, frightened by Virgil's behavior, "V?"
Virgil menacingly utters with his concentration lowered to the controls, "Alpha... Shine. You oughta' be capable of it, considering the Harbinger could. If there's a type of backlash, I'll bear the burden. Please."
Alpha's Buster Rifles hastily disperse and blanket its constitution, leading to the release of a grand sum of aqua-colored essence.
Anemone's bewildered at the display as she rests her back onto her seat while depicting the extraordinary light extending across the area.
Meanwhile, Virgil grins amidst whispering, "Thank you."
Suta brims a cheerful look. "Alpha and me are technically separate characters right now. Him assisting V and Anemone when I've declared that I'd stop isn't me contradicting myself." The poncho-wearing fellow chuckles. "That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it."
Alpha eventually blitz through the air, charging into the explosion persisting its expansion until exiting from the western section. This permits the glowing Mech to impale itself into a Lacerta vessel, easily ripping it to shreds before another eruption is created. Right after that, Alpha pierces several more of Lacertas' fleet personnel with the same conclusion every time.
Virgil suddenly shouts with encouragement while commandeering the controls accordingly, "Don't quit, Alpha! Absorb all I have if you must! We're gonna' reduce their numbers to 0!"
Anemone firmly adds, tinkering with her own system, "Yeah! I'll even guarantee that the power flow ain't depleted, in case you're relying on it! Not much else I can aid with!"
Alpha's speed immediately escalates, implying that it was indeed restraining itself a little prior to receiving that information from both Virgil and Anemone. Not long after, the Mech succeeds in obliterating a dozen of the Lacertas' machines, although they have yet to concede to its overwhelming strength while sending a team of robots at Alpha.
Virgil quickly notes the automatons, propelled by boosters installed onto their backsides, as he's unfazed and alters Alpha's trajectory without warning. In a split second, the blue-eyed lad has his Mech clash with the humanoid opponents and tears through them as if they were paper via a measly thrust from Alpha's right appendage towards the robots. With another collection of explosions brought forth, Alpha instantly ascends towards its next target while Virgil fervently states, "Let's apply a greater output of your might, Alpha! Like what Suta did with that joust he summoned!" He demonstrates a taunting attitude. "Unless you aren't of the same level as it. Does Suta have favorites among you?"
Alpha sinks into one of the foes' ships, eliminating it in the blink of an eye while ultimately halting its upward journey at a good range from the incredible eruption. Afterwards, the Mech transfers the aqua luminescence its composition is producing to the star-shaped emblem it contains on its forehead. Soon enough, Alpha finishes that action as it unleashes an immense, teal-colored beam from the emblem, hurriedly consuming many of the Lacertas' forces while causing them to be disintegrated.
Anemone's profoundly amazed by Alpha's prowess until shifting her attention towards Virgil with suspicion portrayed and gingerly asks, "Did you just goaded him into doing that, V?"
Virgil nods, agony abruptly showing itself. "Yeah... I'm glad it worked..." The Caucasian slumps onward while planting his head upon his controls.
Horror engulfs Anemone as she yells, "V!"
Virgil painstakingly removes himself from his contorted posture while his person commences to partially emanate an aqua glow. "Nothing comes for free, huh, Suta? Though I didn't expect this."
Anemone grows substantially curious and is still concern. "What?"
Virgil shuts his left eye as he grimaces, witnessing Alpha detain its laser in the process. "Typically, tapping into such a tremendous amount of power would have a draining kind of effect. That's why I let him know it was fine to take whatever was necessary from me, but the opposite is happening."
Anemone presents astonishment. "You don't mean..."
Virgil expresses a frail laugh. "I'm being filled with energy, but at a rate that's too fast for me to handle. It may actually be worse this way." Intensity surfaces on the individual as he wholeheartedly shouts, "I'll withstand it nonetheless! I hate to lie!"
Alpha haphazardly switches its positioning to point itself rearward while going towards the collection of Lacertas' crafts that have kept themselves afar from it to attempt a long distance assault.
During that, Anemone pleads with Virgil, stress exhibited. "Calm down, V! You're letting your emotions cloud your judgement! Your dad wouldn't at such a vital period and you'd never dare to dishonor him!"
Virgil ferociously retorts. "Obviously, however, it isn't about what he'd do! I'm doing what I want! He left it to me, so I'll select the method and conduct of how things will be contended with!" The teenager brings his vision towards Anemone by turning his head to the right. "Will you abandon me 'cause of it?! Be my guest if that's what you desire!"
Anemone's rendered speechless with her eyes widening from shock.
