"Let me see how the shoot came out, please. The rest of you can leave."
"Yes, Mr. Choi." Everyone but my editor and photographer bowed, signaling their dismissal from the studio.
I stood behind the editor and waited for him to pull up the photographer's finished capture of me. Today was supposed to be my official moving day into my new dorm room, but the photoshoot ran longer than anticipated and now, it was dark outside. As the new head of the company, I couldn't exactly disregard my new responsibilities, which included this particular shoot. This specific one was to solidify the new role, one that I unfortunately couldn't deny even if I wanted to.
Growing up a child without a mother and the only son to a somewhat tyrant of a father, things were already planned out for me since the day I was born. It wasn't until last month that I had a chance to have some control over my life, due to the sudden passing of said tyrant. Now alone, I chose the option of enrolling in an actual university while simultaneously running this modeling agency: Choi Industries.
"Here they are, sir."
I sighed. "Chan, you can drop the formalities now. No one is around."
"Yeah, I just like pissing you off. Technically, I'm your hyung but I don't like formalities either." He chuckled, moving away from the screen to allow me a clearer view. "I'd say these came out good enough."
"I'd hope so! My work never fails!" Hyunjin, my photographer, laughed. "It's not hard taking pictures of you anyway."
"Flattery will get you nowhere, Jin." I rolled my eyes playfully, nodding at the pictures in approval. "Alright, send them off to the board and call it night. I need to move in to my dorm before midnight."
Chan checked his watch and raised his eyebrow. "It's only after five? By the way, why do you want to live in the dorms? You have a whole mansion to yourself."
"Maybe because all my life I've lived in that forsaken house and I rather not be living in it alone?"
"Ah, right...sorry."
Hyunjin yawned. "I need to get to my dorm room too. My boyfriend is waiting for me."
Chan and I looked at him with smirks plastered on our faces. "Ooooo.... Felix."
"Shut up."
"Alright, alright... Chan, remember to lock up when you're done. Hyunjin, I'll give you a ride." I smiled softly, patting Chan on his shoulder before walking out of the studio. "Goodnight, Chan."
"Bye, boss!"
Ignoring him, Hyunjin and I walked to my car, a matte black Mercedes that was gifted to me by my father a week before his death. Stepping inside, I started the engine and sped out of the parking lot in the direction towards campus.
Hyunjin took a look at the two suitcases in the back with a skeptical eyebrow. "Are you only moving in with two luggage cases?"
I nodded. "That's all I really need, at least for the semester."
"You're better than me. I would need more."
A soft chuckle escaped my lips. "Of course you would."
Seoul National University was only ten minutes away from the agency, so arriving there was quick. Luckily enough, the both of us resided in the same building: New Building 901. The two of us stepped out, with Hyunjin assisting me with removing one of the suitcases from the back.
"You're off for this week, but don't worry, I'll still pay you. Just focus on school." I instructed.
Hyunjin grinned. "Awesome! Thanks. What floor are you on anyway? I can help you with that to your room."
"Nah, I'm good. I'm on the second floor." I said softly, grabbing the other suitcase from him with ease before starting to walk to the entrance of the building. "What floor are you on?"
"The fourth floor."
I nodded. "Well, good to know."
"You think we'll see Yunho and Seonghwa in this building?" Hyunjin asked curiously as we strolled inside the dormitory. "I know Mingi and Hongjoong live on my floor."
"Maybe. Yeosang already told me he's on the fourth floor, but wouldn't tell me who his roommate was." I shrugged, pressing the elevator button for 'up'. "I just hope my roommate isn't a slob."
"Sending you my best wishes." He chuckled.
The elevator doors opened to an empty cart, allowing the both of us enter freely. Hyunjin pressed both my floor and his floor button, and slowly the doors closed to begin its ascent. It was a quick ride as my floor came into view.
"Alright, see you on Saturday." I nodded, walking out with my suitcases.
"See you then."
Strolling to my door, I dug into my pocket for my dorm key ahead of time. Once I reached my destination, I noticed the room number.
Room 200.
Unlocking the door, I opened and saw signs of my roommate's belongings already placed on the right side of the room. However, the first thing that truly caught my attention was the scent of vanilla coming from the bathroom. Ignoring the smell, a smell I found myself having an instant reaction to, I brought my suitcases inside. My eyes darted to a blonde-haired male, dressed in sweats and seated at his desk with his brown doe eyes directly on me. His side of the bed had BTS posters, what seemed to be fairy lights placed above his purple-decorated bed.
Well shit, he's stunning...
The main thing I found myself attracted to was his facial features. He was indeed a male, but he also had a soft touch of femininity that I found to be very unique and beautiful. He looked so pretty, prettier than any guy I've ever seen. Although, the last thing I needed was a distraction.
No matter how much I'd love to feel him under me...
Putting on my best facade, I sighed heavily. "Since you got here first, I won't complain with being on the left side. Just please keep your stuff tidy and neat to yourself, and no fucking inside of the dorm room. Sounds good?"
The gorgeous male raised an eyebrow. "What happened to 'hi' or 'hello', mmm?"
"Yeah, I don't really care to know your name, so don't care to share mine or indulge in petty formalities." I shrugged, moving my suitcases on my side of the room to begin unpacking.
He's feisty...I like it...
"Fine, I think I can manage those conditions. Same goes for you then." He huffed.
I smirked while opening up one of my suitcases. "Sure. Whatever you say."
I caught him rolling his eyes before refocused his attention on whatever he was doing on his laptop. My curiosity was piqued, but I shook off the feeling and continued to unpack in silence. However, he suddenly
shut his laptop and placed it in his backpack before grabbing his keys and standing up. "I'm going out."
"Didn't ask, but have fun I guess." I said nonchalantly, too busy trying to seem focused on organizing my clothes to look up at him.
Huffing, he stepped around me and made his way out of the room, purposefully slamming the door shut. As soon as he walked out, I relaxed myself and collapsed on the floor, not realizing the breath I was unintentionally holding in. The scent of vanilla hit my nostrils the moment he stepped past me, and it took everything in me not to grab and pin him down.
This is bad...
Picking up my phone, I quickly dialed Hongjoong's number and waited for the ringing to connect. After a few minutes, I heard his voice.
"San? Are you moved in yet?"
"Hongjoong, I think I may have a problem... Can we meet?"
"Sure...come to my room. Room 317 in the New Building, Building 901."
