Background:

Issy Hatter is the Pilot of Apharmd the Hatter, a member of Orb Union Alliance before he went solo mission. When he was a kid, he loved western and cowboys, he grew up in Texas, United State of America, he and his father are cowboys but his father is a member of the Orb Union Alliance. He joins Earth Alliance to fight for excitement and challenge the ZAFT's Virtuaroid and Mobile Suit until he witnesses the execution of Coordinators by Earth Alliance.

He joined the MARZ Task Force to avenge the Coordinator and finds a new version of Apharmd called Apharmd the Hatter that remind him of his cowboy day. He pilot Hatter and defeat the enemy, become a well know fight in the world.

Commander Burton gives Issy an Infiltration solo mission to the Martian Zone in Mars. Issy accepted the mission and went back to Mars, suddenly he was ambushed by Z-Gradt who put Issy in the iron cross pose, leaving him captured.
