One Shot #35 (Cont.)

Maui's POV

 Moana and I continued our fun for a little while before making our way back to Ariel and Eric. By the red blushes on their face and their facial expressions, I can tell they were having a little fun of their own. I put an arm around Eric. "Congrats Eric. You finally asked the girl out. About time." He groans, which causes me to laugh. "Oh hush Maui. You've been hiding your feelings for Moana just has long as I have for Ariel. By the way, congrats on having the balls to finally ask her out." I shake my head happily. No amount of sarcasm is going to ruin today. 

  The four us eat a late dinner today, which happened to be some chicken I hunted down and roasted. It's delicious by the way. It's nice to have company to eat dinner with. Most nights back at the palace, Eric and I were both too busy attending to our duties to even share a meal as friends. For now, we're pretty much free of our responsibilities. We deserve this break. We haven't had one in years. We talk endlessly about the most random subjects before calling it a night. Eric and Ariel head off to one corner of the island to sleep while Moana and I head to another. I gently set up a comfortable sleeping area for us. I lie down first and she joins me a moment later. As she lies down beside me, she snuggles on top of my chest and my heart melts. I wrap my arms around her in a protective manner. I adore this girl. I'm going to protect her from harm at all costs, even if it means putting my life on the line. For the first time in my life, I finally have a girl worth sacrificing everything for. 

Hoped that you guys liked this part of this one shot! I know it's short, but it's just a filler.By the way, my boss gave me horrible shifts for the next three days at work so I might not be updating as much, if not at all, until the weekend. I don't want you to think I'm abandoning this one shot because that's not the case whatsoever. <3 :) -Mary
