I'm A Monster (Part 3)

One Shot #25 (Cont.)

Sina's POV

  I haven't seen Moana all day and I'm started to get worried that she's disappeared on me. I've searched for her every in the village, but I can't find her anymore. I know her and Maui went off earlier, but that was early afternoon. It's nightfall now. I walk down to the shore because that's the last place I haven't checked yet. As I get closer to the shore, I see Maui lying on the ground unconscious. "Tui, come over here please!" My husband comes running and helps me carry Maui to the infirmary. I drape one of Maui's arms around me and Tui does the same with the other. It takes us a little while to get there but eventually we do. A team of nurses meet us at the entrance and lift Maui into a bed, which then they wheel into the back of the hut. 

    Our favorite doctor, which is Dr. Kiki comes over to talk to Tui and I. "Hey Tui, hey Sina. What happened to Maui?" I take a shaky breath. "I don't know. I've been searching for Moana all day and the last place I had yet to look was the shore. When I went down there, I found Maui lying unconscious on the ground with deep burns in his chest, near his heart. Is he going to be okay Dr. Kiki?" "His burns are quite severe, but aren't impossible to take care of. Though, it may be a little while before he wakes up." Tui and I nod in understanding. "Do you mind if we stay with him for a bit?" Dr. Kiki smiles sadly at us. "Not at all. If you need anything, just ask a nurse to come grab me." 

   We silently thank him and sit by Maui's bedside. A tear slips down my cheek and Tui wipes it away. Poor Maui. He's become part of the family. Despite his mistakes, we accepted Maui as he is. I know that he never had parents to raise and guide him through life. That's probably part of the reason for why he did what he did.  I also know how shattered Moana's going to be when she finds out what happened to Maui. I really hope she turns up soon. I'm starting to think she left to go on a voyage...

Moana's POV

   I silently watched my parents carry a pale and injured Maui to the infirmary. It's all my fault. I became this ugly, evil demon that thrives on hurting others. If my parents saw me like this, they'd throw me into the sea, just as Maui's parents did to him. I'd honestly let them. Who would want to love me like this? I never asked for to become this. I thought the ocean was my friend. Why would it allow for a mysterious force to turn me into a monster? It's supposed to protect me, just like I've protected. After all, I saved the world for crying out loud. I deserve so much better than this. 

    I hate myself. I don't want to live like this. I see a spear hanging on the wall  of the cave across from me. I use my hands, which are now claws, and grab it. Then, with all of my strength, I plunge it into my heart. A foreign scream comes out of my mouth. I watch as a significant amount of blood leaves my body. Eventually, I pass out from the blood loss, hitting the ground with a thud on the way down.
