I'm A Monster (Part 1)

One Shot #25

Moana's POV

 Maui and I are having our first date tonight. That's right, our first date. To be honest, I never imagined that I'd ever say those words in my life. Over the course of the year that I've known the stubborn Maui, demigod of the wind and sea, he managed to crawl into my heart and I haven't been the same since. Against all odds, Maui began to feel the same way about me. Two weeks ago, we finally confessed our feelings for another and now here we are, happily enjoying our first date. Maui actually planned it himself. It's a picnic on the beach. When he told me that this is what he wanted to do for our first date, my heart melted. 

 Maui puts down a huge blanket for both of us to sit on. I sit down and he joins me after bringing over a huge basket of food. I gaze up at him and see that he's blushing. I find myself doing the same. Maui just has the effect on me. His mere presence is enough to make me a tomato. Curse you Maui and the perfection that is you. "I made us all sorts of sandwiches. I also bought nearly every kind of chips, water, and apple juice." "You really outdid yourself Maui." He laughs. "I know, but you're worth going the extra mile for." I smile. "You know, no one's ever said that to me before." Maui gives me a look of genuine surprise. "Well, they should. In fact, they shouldn't just say it, they should do it too." "Thank you Maui." He bites his lip, trying not sing his response back, but does anyway. His famous "You're Welcome" escapes from his mouth in song form. I elbow him. "Ouch, what was that for?" I giggle. "That was for reminding me of that silly song of yours." 

   Maui gets up, playfully puts his hands on his hands, and shakes his ass like some of those popstars do. "Um excuse me Moana, you love my singing voice and dance moves that often go along with it." I clap my hands together and snort. "Yes, I happen to love it very much. Can we eat now? I'm starved." He laughs. "Be my guest."  He hands me a ham and cheese sandwich and gets an egg and cheese sandwich for himself. Right as I take my first bite, a mysterious force shoots out from the ocean and makes its way inside of me. I look at Maui in panic who looks back at me with an equal, if not higher amount of panic. He tries to fight off the force, but it simply blasts him away. I scream as it takes over my body and turns me into a scary looking creature that somewhat resembles Te Ka.

    I look down at my arms and scream again, which now sounds more like a roar. My voice is no longer my own. It belongs to a demon. As I stare into Maui's eyes, there isn't love in them, only fear. Realizing that he now sees me as a monster who's going to harm him, I run off and hide in the closest cave, refusing to come out and see the light of day until I'm back to my old self.
