A Decision To Weigh (Part 4)
A Decision To Weigh (Part 4)
One Shot #5 (Cont.)
Moana's POV
Time Skip... Four days later...
Maui and I arrive to Te Fiti's island. Both of us look at each other, with a million emotions running through our minds, hearts, and on our faces. I can tell Maui wants this for me just as much as I do, if not more. I steer us into the shoreline, grab a rope out of the storage compartment, tie the boat to a tree, and make my way to Te Fiti with Maui. I can feel my nerves building up. Even though there's a great chance that Te Fiti will grant this request, there's also a chance that she won't. Maui can sense my nerves as he looks down at me. "It's going to be fine Moana. Te Fiti adores you and that's what matters most." He gently grabs a hold of my hand and places it into his. I blush when I realize that we're holding hands. I then grin like the dorky girl I am.
10 minutes later...
Te Fiti herself reveals herself to us. She raises an eyebrow at Maui but gives us both a warm smile nonetheless. I look to Maui and he volunteers to speak first. "Te Fiti, we're sorry to bother you. I know you're not that fond of me, which you have every reason to be given our history, but I know you do like Moana, which is why I'm hoping you'll at least consider what I'm about to say." Te Fiti gives Maui a small nod, allowing him to continue. Maui looks at me longingly. "I've made so many mistakes these past thousand years that I don't know even know where to begin on fixing them, but I've started by becoming a better person. I couldn't have done it on my own. Moana's the cause of my personal growth. Now I'm not saying I'm a saint, but because of her, I've come a long way these past four years. Two years, I began to have these strange new feelings for her. They were terrifying, but yet they felt right. It turns out that those feelings were ones that people in love feel. I feel in love with Moana and I want to be with her. The only thing is that Moana's a mortal, which you obviously know."
Te Fiti looks from Maui to I and back with sympathy. I look at Maui also and see a tear roll down his cheek, which I wipe away. He kisses me on the forehead. "I've never loved anyone as much as I love Moana. She's also the first and only person to be able to change me for the better. I was wondering if you could make her immortal like me. You don't need to give her demigod powers if that's too much for you to do. All I'm asking is for you to help me make sure I don't have to endure the pain of ever losing her to death. I don't want to live in a world without Moana in it."
Te Fiti shifts her attention back to me, silently asking me if what Maui's saying is true, about him loving me. "He does love me Te Fiti." I pull Maui down for a quick kiss. "It's real and when it's real, you can't walk away." Te Fiti then does some sort of spell, causing me to fly in the air and all sorts of things to fly around me. Maui watches the scene before him in awe. A minute later, I'm placed back gently on the ground. I look at my arms and legs and see tattoos begin to appear. "Te Fiti, did you give me powers?" She nods and mouths "Demigoddess." Maui's grinning at me look a child, causing me to do the exact same. "Thank you so much Te Fiti! This is so wonderful." She lifts Maui and I up and gives us both a hug. Maui then speaks for the first time in minutes. "Thank you Te Fiti. This means everything to both Moana and I." She smiles back and presents him a modernized fish hook. He takes it gratefully and squeals as he begins playing with it. Te Fiti and I burst into laughter.
We let the moment linger a little before we part ways. Maui then picks me up bridal style, spins me around, and gives me a kiss so amazing that my mind can't wrap around everything that just happened. I'm an immortal demigoddess and I get to be with my Maui forever.
Hope you guys liked this one shot! :) -Mary
