Chapter 4

After coming to the agreement that we wouldn't land in the camp, well, not technically anyway, we were to hover over the camp, outside of the pomerian line. As I climbed down the ladder past a very grumpy God of Boundaries I tried to keep my focus off percy and on the plummet of death in which i'd fall to if i didn't concentrate on my climbing.

As I jumped down from the last bar on to Roman soil and my gut twisted. Something was wrong, I could feel it. I pushed back the thoughts as I began to make my way towards the sloppily organised troupe of Roman solders I kept my eyes anywhere but the black haired, green eyed Praetor. It was all too real now. I spied a blonde boy who was holding a teddy bear and a knife looking at me with a murderous glare like I just jumped on his sandcastle. Wonder what his problem is.

I followed Jason through the crowd, watching the demigods surrounding me wearily. They seemed to be watching me back. I bumped into Jason, not realising that we had stopped and he quickly turned around to see if I was alright. I nodded my answer. When I looked at what we had stopped I saw Percy and Reyna standing in a circle of people, everyone seemed to keep a respectable distance from the two of them. Now that we were closer I could see that there was a faint golden aura around Percy and I could smell a salty breeze. I'd forgotten how powerful Percy was.

I drank in the details of his face. His lopsided grin, the angle of his chin. I looked into his eyes yet he wasn't looking back. He was looking at the hands of Piper and Jason that were now entwined. His eyes looked a little relieved and worried. Did he not know who I was, did he remember but had met another Roman girl? Then he looked at me. He walked forward, ignoring Reyna's warning call, and before I knew it I was in his arms and the smell of the ocean on him and the salty lips sent any logic I ever had into the ground. And I thought giddy "Seaweed Brain".
