#22
When I woke up I couldn't remember anything. I couldn't remember who I was, it felt like I was nothing but a blank paper. This two man standing frozen in my room we're sporting a sad expression that it made me wonder if these people knew me.
"Who are you?" I asked them.
"Um, excuse me Mr. Malcolm. May I have a word with you?" The man wearing a white lab coat intervened.
The other guy left with the doctor out of the room while this man who was left behind in the room sat down on one of the sofa looking down. When the guy who went out with the doctor came back, he immediately called the other man's attention.
"The doctor said he had a temporary amnesia due to the accident. In order for him to remember things he needs to be exposed to his previous surroundings that might help trigger his memory back." The guy who called himself Diam stated.
As I was sitting on the bed, I only had the motion to look at them as they had a deep conversation.
"But how about Caleb?" The other guy whose name was Alexander stated as a question to Diam.
"Leave Caleb to me, if he knew what happened to his father I bet that kid will be heartbroken. He won't take it in a nice way. He grew up with Lay for seven years and for him to know that his dad didn't have any memory of him, I don't know what that kid would do considering where he had gotten his genes from." Diam stated which made me confused.
"Um. What's going on?"

A few days later, I was discharged from the hospital with only my being intact but my brain empty. I've met numerous people on my stay in the hospital but only their names were revealed and their relationship to me remains a secret. That is the mission they had given to me. I have to remember everything for the sake of my own self.
I was sitting in a spacious living room which was owned by Diam. I held a cup of tea as I waited for Diam to emerged out from their bedroom. The sound of wails and cries of a baby sounded from their room which made me think if those two were alright.
I waited for a few minutes before the cries died down and Diam emerged out from their bedroom. He had dark bags underneath his eyes and his hair and clothes were deshiveled making me suppressed a laugh.
"Alexander is on his way to pick you up. Did you pack everything you need?" He asked which I nodded.
"Yes."
After I got discharged from the hospital, Diam and Alexander talked for a whole night here in the living room on how to help me remember things.
Alexander suggested that I should return to the place where I grew up. Diam opposed to the idea which made the two of them bicker until the middle of the night. They even turned to me for an answer which I thought that it wasn't such a bad idea. If I wanted to bring my memories and help myself, I should but Diam's words left an impression in me.
"Lay, are you really sure that you wanted to go back to that place?" He asked me sternly.
Even though I didn't knew what I should be cautious about in coming to Alexander's place, there was this mixed feeling inside me that I couldn't explain but in the end, I decided that I sould go. Even though I had said my own piece of mind, Diam was still reluctant which made Alexander explain the benifits to Diam all over again.
That night, after a long silence from Diam, with a long tired sigh he finally agreed to it. Alexander was smiling at me but before Alexander could celebrate I heard a few threats from Diam delivered just for him. Even though they sounded serious I couldn't help but laugh at it.

The sound of honking sounded from outside which made me and Diam looked at the window. With a sigh, Diam walked up to me and pulled one of my luggage to help me load it to the car.
Alexander was leaning on the side of the car. He was wearing a simple gray shirt and jeans with a black cap on his head.
"Good morning Lay. Good morning Diam." Alexander greeted and took my hand.
"Don't greet me with that annoying face of yours. I might slap you." Diam says annoyingly.
I shook off from Alexander's grasp to put my lugagges at the back of the car but halted when I saw Diam had already put them away.
"Thank you Diam." I smiled and quickly hugged him.
I would have pulled right away sensing that it might have been awkward for him when suddenly he returned my hug tightly which made me smile brightly.
"I will miss you brother." I stated which made him nod.
"How did you know that I'm your brother?" He asked. I laughed as I pulled away from him.
"Well, it felt like I'm looking through a mirror of how our faces are alike but we still do have a little differences but it couldn't hide the fact that you are my twin brother." I smiled and pinched his cheeks.
And for the first time since I've woken up, I saw how Diam smiled lovingly at me. He reached out to my face and pinched them too.
"Alexander, take care of my brother. If I hear just one word of complaint from him. I swear you will never see my brother again!"
After saying our farewells, the both of us got inside the back seat of the car since Alexander had two men in black suit sitting in front. We left Diam's house and went to the airport to catch our flight.

"Lay, are you hungry?" Alexander's gentle voice called out to me from my side.
I looked at him with a smile. "Nope. I think I'm fine."
"Okay. If you say so."
Alexander had been like a caring friend to me after I regained my consciousness. I might not remember my relationship with him but I think we had a pretty good one though considering how he treated me. Maybe I was his childhood friend? Or maybe he's my brother too.
"Hey Alex? Are you married or still single?" I asked out of the blue which made him look at me.
"Um, married?" He answered with a question mark. What's that supposed to mean? "But I think its complicated. Hehe." He added.
"So, your wife won't mind if I live with you for I don't know how months?" I asked again.
"No, he won't mind." He answered nonchalantly as he ate his sandwhich.
"Really? Then... is she pretty?" Alexander smiled then his gaze landed on me intensely.
"Pretty? Nope. The word pretty couldn't describe how amazing and wonderful he is." He stated and brushed the loose strands of hair that almost covered my left eye.
I snorted. Somehow, hearing him praise his wife like that made me kind of jealous? I don't know. Sensing that I didn't like the idea of him talking about his wife, I decided to just lean back on my seat and dozed off then wait for this plane to land.
"You gonna sleep?" Alexander asked.
"Yup. Wake me up when we land." I replied slowly drifting to sleep.
"Yes, as you wish my little wife."
