Ch. 15: My Little... Uniforms?! (Part 2): Loyalty Returns

It is finally Friday, September 5, the last day of the 1st week at Canterlot High. While most students are excited for the school week to be over, the "Main 6", or the "Main 5" at the rate their friendship was going, are sad and one of them is ruining the "Sunny Skies" forecast that was promised on the news. A female student walks up to Rainbow Dash and asks with a smile,

"Rainbow Dash, the weather guy said that the weather was supposed to be sunny, but the clouds are grayer than one of Derpy Hooves' T-shirts, so can you, you know, brighten up the weather for us?"

"Wow," Rainbow Dash says angrily, glaring at the girl in front of her, "I'm obviously having a bad day, but nooo. You, like that snob, Rarity, and egghead, Twilight Sparkle, just had to say something that makes it all about you! No, random freshman chick, I will not be your personal weather changer. However, if you ask me to change the weather for you again, and I don't feel like it, you'll spend the rest of the day with your own personal blizzard hanging over. Your! HEAD! With a show of hands, who wants nice, sunny weather?"

Most of the students, including her former friends, raise their hands with caution, knowing the smallest thing would set Rainbow Dash off.

"Well guess what, losers?," Rainbow Dash asks with a smirk, "I. DON'T. CARE! Why don't you ask the freakin' weather guy to change the weather for you?!"

The sad looks on their faces do nothing to change Rainbow Dash's attitude. Applejack attempts to walk over to Rainbow Dash, but Twilight Sparkle places a light-tan hand on her strong, left shoulder.

"Be cautious, Applejack," says Twilight, a sad-yet-worried look on her face, "Rainbow's temper could be set off by even the smallest of things today."

"No offense, Twilight," Applejack begins, looking down at the top of Twilight's head, a little anger rising up in her, "But I've been a much better friend to her. She actually listens to me."

Applejack is right, Twilight thinks to herself, she and Rainbow are much closer. Twilight pulls her hand away from Applejack's plaid-covered shoulder and Applejack walks over to the very angry Rainbow Dash, who is currently kicking a pebble as she approaches their school's front doors.

"H-hey, Dash," Applejack says nervously, fumbling with the hem of her red, plaid, button down shirt.

"WHAT?!," Rainbow Dash says angrily, turning towards Applejack, who is now fiddling with her tan cowgirl hat, "Oh, it's you, A.J. Sorry for yelling."

"Awww, that's all right, sugar cube," Applejack tells Rainbow Dash sincerely as they smile at each other, "I just hate to see you pissed off about... anything!"

"Yeah, well," Rainbow Dash begins, "Until a certain two people stop treating us like we're less than they are, I'm completely avoiding them. Don't try to get me to go over there and repair our destroyed friendship. I never wanna talk to Twilight Sparkle or Rarity ever again."

"Of course not, Dash," Applejack says to Rainbow Dash, a warm smile on her face, "I ain't one to force someone to do anything. You and the others can reconcile on your own time."

"What makes you think we're gonna reconcile at all?," Rainbow Dash asks, skeptically looking at Applejack.

"Because you're you," Applejack replies matter-of-factly.

Then Applejack walks back over to her other friends, leaving Rainbow Dash standing there with a stunned expression on her face.

A few hours pass by and Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy are sitting in their rather boring History class, taught by a new, female teacher named Reminisce. Reminisce starts to lecture them about the past rift between Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, and Rainbow Dash begins to snore, making Applejack shake her head as she chuckles.

"Dash, wake up," Applejack says with a smile, tugging on the black strings of her best friend's black hoodie and hoping Reminisce doesn't notice.

"I don't wanna!," Rainbow Dash groans quietly, "This class is so fucking boring!"

"Dash, every class is borin' to you," Applejack replies with another chuckle.

"Damn right," says Rainbow Dash, her genetically-perfect smile returning.

The average hallway clock strikes 12:00, alerting the students that lunchtime has finally arrived. Canterlot High's blue cafeteria doors open suddenly and students happily rush into the large cafeteria. After getting their lunches, which were served by Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Big McIntosh's grandmother, Granny Smith, the Cutie Mark Crusaders walk over to an empty table and sit down to eat. However, eating will have to wait; Diamond Tiara and her annoying clone, Silver Spoon, walk over to them with their noses in the air. There is no doubt in the Crusaders' minds that she'd come over to taunt them.

"Oh look," Diamond Tiara begins, trying to show off her pink, jersey dress, "If it isn't the 'Cutie Mark Lose-saders'!"

"Good one, DT!," says Silver Spoon, giving her best friend a high-five.

"Bump, bump, sugar lump, rump!," the two mean girls say in unison, giggling and doing some type of girly handshake and bumping their hips together.

"Laters, Cutie Mark Lose-saders!," Diamond Tiara says with an evil smirk as she and Silver Spoon walk away.

"What I wouldn't do to just knock the livin' hell outta that girl!," Apple Bloom says angrily, her hazel eyes following her enemies as they walk away.

"I wanna hit both of them," Scootaloo replies.

"Guys," begins Sweetie Belle, smiling, "Violence isn't gonna solve anything. Let's just ignore them."

Applejack and Rainbow Dash walk into the cafeteria, laughing as they approach the table normally occupied by the "Main 6". Applejack says to Rainbow Dash,

"The girls are gon' be mighty excited when they hear that you aren't abandonin' us!"

"Yeah," says Rainbow Dash, smiling, "I thought about what you said, A.J. And you were right: I'm too loyal to just ditch them forever."

The two girls stop talking as they reach their table. There is an awkward silence; Rainbow Dash had been avoiding their table for days!

"H-hi, guys," Rainbow Dash says to her former friends with a gulp, sitting her tray on the table.

"Oh, Dashie!," Rarity says as she hugs Rainbow Dash, her eyes filling up with tears of joy, "Welcome back, darling. Twily and I vow to never underestimate you, or A.J., again! I never should have bashed your appearance, dear. I love everything about you: the profane manner in which you speak, your baggy clothes, your sometimes rockstar-like appearance, your height, and your colorful hair. I love it all!"

"Me too, Rainbow," Twilight says, joining in on the hug.

"I love you too, guys," Rainbow Dash replies truthfully, smiling, "(Her smile fades) Now please let go of me. You know I hate sappy stuff!"

The girls laugh, happy that their friend had returned to them. Pinkie Pie, forever smiling, asks,

"How about we celebrate Dashie's return at Sugarcube Corner?"

"Sounds great, Pinkie!," says Twilight, "When?"

"How does 'after school' sound to you?," Pinkie asks.

The others agree wholeheartedly, smiling as they enjoy their lunches. After school, at around 4:10, the "Main 6" meet up at Sugarcube Corner and Rainbow Dash catches them up on her week without them. It is obvious she missed them, so they form a group hug and vow to never upset one another so badly.
